A Game in the Shade of Red (AGSoR)

Games are meant to be fun, that's what Panem always thought. For the districts, this new game isn't fun at all. What happens when the ground is stained red? Red for blood, red for anger. It's a game in the shade of red. Fresh out of a war, Panem is in chaos. A destroyed country, a fractured government and a lot of angry districts. It's not something that can go unpunished. Welcome to the first annual Hunger Games.

AGSoR is going to be a pretty chill story, but I've been really wanting to write the 1st Hunger Games for a while now so I'm pretty excited for this. It's going to be a partial-SYOT, because even though I doubt it, I don't want to lose motivation for this too. I will be accepting 12 tributes, one from each district and then the other 12 will be created by me. This is first-come, first-serve, but I will be refusing characters if I'm not comfortable writing them, or I have too many that are too similar.

For my sanity, please title submissions AGSoR: Name, district. Last time around, I made the mistake of not doing that, and I regretted it immediately, it was chaos.

Some things to remember: Panem is fresh out of the Dark Days. They'll likely have lost people important to them, and they'll all have suffered. Anyone wealthy or with money after the war will be few and far between, although slightly more common in districts that were more loyal to the Capitol than the others, like 1 and 2.

These are the first Hunger Games, there will be a lot of uncertainty and confusion, there aren't going to be volunteers or any careers, although some rebels may have some sort of experience with fighting. On top of this, mentors, escorts, sponsors, training, interviews and etc. don't exist yet, so we'll see less fancy Capitol and more locked in pens all cramped together, and the whole thing will be shorter.

Note: While I am trying to stay similar to canon as much as possible, District 12 or young tributes can still win in this SYOT, even though they hadn't in canon. So don't be afraid to submit to District 12 or young tributes, they aren't automatically losing because of that.

Something of a Curse (SOC)

The 125th Hunger Games is on the horizon, a brand new twist for the 5th Quarter Quell. Both tributes from each district shall be reaped from the same bowl, regardless of gender. For Evangalie Asher, it's a curse. A new Head Gamemaker can't be known for leading a boring Quell. Boring Head Gamemakers don't last very long in this industry. Closed SYOT, thank you to all the beautiful people who subbed. I'm taking a hiatus from SoC to focus on a new story that I'm more excited about.
