"Just open your eyes, and realize the way it's always been. Just open your eyes, and you'll find the way it's always been. Just open your heart, and that's a start." --Moody Blues, Question of Balance, Balance
Yo! Kiyoshi Shichiro is the name. Don't take the name as a sign of my ethnicity, I'm not Japanese. I do, however, have a slight infatuation with the Japanese language, so I decided that my pen name would be Japanese. The name isn't meaningless either. Both pertain to a certain, small part of who I am.
Anyway, enough with the rambling. You are apparently here for a reason, so I'll divulge some information about myself(things I consider relevent).
My real name is Nathaniel. I was born and raised in Louisiana, and don't take kindly to people who assume the South is some rundown region far behind the rest of the nation, or world(sorry about the tirade). I absolutely love movies. In fact, I started writing all because I saw a horrible movie, and figured I could write too if something as awful as "Kung Pow: Enter The Fist" made it to the big screen. I play video games(mostly the Nintendo classics and a few new games. Left 4 Dead has completely blown my mind), I listen to metal (Metallica being my favorite), I read when the mood strikes me, and my interest in anime is limited to Naruto, Bleach, and Fullmetal Alchemist.
Now, I don't believe anyone who reads my fics, and is here reading my profile, is wondering why they don't feature much action, but just for the heck of it here is my answer to that: I feel the Naruto manga and anime will speak for it's self when it comes to action. Instead, I will set up moral dilemmas for the characters and fill the developmental voids in the manga, one of those faucets being romance. Being the hopeless romantic that I am, most my fics will be about the relationship between Naruto and Sakura, and I don't plan to stray from that pairing unless undeniable evidence is provided. I'm sure my record will prove that.
I'm an undisciplined writer. That is to say I don't sit down to write everyday or every other day. I also write without structure, therefore I work slower than a sloth. For example, I have an original story I've been working on for several years now and I'm not even half-way finished (damn rewrites). So, with an idea but no plan I write until I hit a block then leave it for an undetermined amount of time until another idea comes to me.
I write with one rule in mind: simplicity is key. Length is nothing if the result is something insubstantial. Basically, I'm preaching quality over quantity. No, I don't mean simple plots. All I mean is avoid unnecessary lengthening of a story.
