[UNDER CONSTRUCTION UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE] Twitter: @DuelistDraconic (best contact) WebNovel: (join code) Nxe0YE6i Tumblr: draconic-duelist YouTube: (currently empty of content) SpaceBattles: DraconicDuelist Sorry if anyone has tried to get in contact, life and what I think is depression have been getting in the way of me keeping consistent on my reading of my favorite stories and prevented me following up on some of the recommended stories I'd been looking forward to. Fair Warning: When reading stories I am likely to come up with ideas for the future of said story. I will most likely message the author so that I can offer it up in the hopes it will, at the minimum, give them new ideas further down the road. This is not because I think my ideas are better than yours, it is simply my hope that I could help a story I love continue to grow in interesting ways. I always try to send these ideas as PM's so that should they make it into the story, spoilers will be avoided. "Wielder" of Chaos Mind, and afflicted with a weaker variant of Jun'ichirō Kagami's YD; I have some difficulty in doing things that don't interest me. I often describe my mind as a Pachinko machine, always bouncing from one topic to another that is barely even tangentially related to it. This site has granted me several new sources for me to push back the threat of Plot Withdrawal. Due to some possible undiagnosed depression (I seem to share several symptoms), I also have a hard time doing things that do interest me. While I have a few ideas for stories of my own, I have yet to gain the motivation to even attempt at making a rough draft (something I never really utilized in school). Examples include the origin story of my Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 character (which as I compile Ideas is also shaping up to be a good source for the origin of my personal Authorial Avatar character as well), a super hero story, and a few others based on songs I enjoy which may end up simply being folded into one of the others as additional characters. And now due to excessive immersion, I have a One Piece SI being planned. Don't let the "immature" reading level of some of my favorite stories fool you, they're my favorites due to interesting topics and the level of fun they provide me. While I don't read "proper" books near as much as I used to, I (like I assume many others on this site) was at a college level of reading by around 3rd grade but almost lost my love of reading at some point while at school. If any of the (surprising number of) visitors to my profile would like to discuss any stories (from here or otherwise), I am fine with you PMing me. Just please be patient with my replies, as I don't check my inbox all the time and I may require time to construct a reply. I also welcome any recommendations, be they your stories or just those you really enjoy; if I like them I'll add them to my list below (for what that's worth). Some of my favorite authors of "published" novels include: Jim Butcher - The Dresden Files, The Codex Alera, The Cinder Spires, Spider-Man: The Darkest Hours Derek Landy - Skulduggery Pleasant John Flanagan - The Ranger's Apprentice, The Brotherband Chronicles Eoin Colfer - Artemis Fowl Charlaine Harris - The Southern Vampire Mysteries (True Blood Novels) James Patterson - Maximum Ride, Witch & Wizard Richard Paul Evans - Michael Vey Julie Kagawa - The Immortal Rules Taran Matharu - The Summoner Why must I torture myself by reading so many dying/dead stories or those with a long hiatus coming up? My ever-growing list of authors on this site that I love (in rough order of "discovery"): SSVCloud - I intended to start reading Tales of the Monkey Queen last year or earlier. When MasakoX was first working on his "What If Goku Was Female" story, he mentioned SSVCloud's story as a much more complete version that he drew some inspiration from. The changes really ramp up as time goes on. If you're a fan of Dragon Ball, you should definitely read this story. Not only does it do more in depth with most characters, especially those Toriyama forgot, but it hosts many incredible changes that make for a unique reading experience. Noodlehammer - Whose interconnected stories are incredibly fun. Currently there are 2 "separate" series running. The first is a Naruto AU series, starting with Reaching For a Dream, in which he is older, and not only much more serious but also far more broken. He eventually becomes one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse (give or take a few dozen positions depending on opinion). Then there's a Harry Potter AU, For Love of Magic, in which, Harry was kicked out by the Dursleys, abused at the Orphanage, and eventually adopted by a "caring" and rich family. Sorted into Ravenclaw, Harry strives to be the most powerful wizard he can to never have to rely on others and be hurt again. By this point, the original characters are more of just vague impressions left over on the current renditions, which in my opinion is great. o0o WARNING - LARGE AMOUNTS OF SMUT. Don't come whining to me OR the author if reading this offends you, we both gave warnings. Sir Ploey - Author of Harry Potter and the Natural 20, a meta-knowledge filled munchkin of a D&D character is accidentally brought into the world of Harry Potter. High-jinks obviously ensue, as the world he finds himself in doesn't follow the rules he knows so well. o0o Sadly this series seems to have died. I hope it is merely sleeping, but I have no way of waking it myself. Perhaps some more readers could make enough noise to rouse it's slumber. Cross-Brain (consisting of Xomniac, The Patient One, and CV12Hornet) - Creating an exciting One Piece Self-Insert that has even inspired me to return to my artwork. This Bites! is a fantastic story that treats the SI as any other character, no OP powers. Jeremiah Cross is merely a supporting character from which much of the story is told and influenced. A majority of his meta-knowledge only leads things astray resulting in more adventure! o0o Unfortunately, Cross-Brain are going to put the story on indefinite hiatus until Oda finishes the original story. Still, this is a must read for anyone who loves action adventure. The plan is to reach the 2-year Time-Skip on Sabaody before putting it on hold, so we have a few chapters until then. Vikingr - Author of Twelve Red Lines, another One Piece SI that stressed me out in the beginning due to how it kicked my empathy into over drive. I wanted to help so much, but am helpless to. As I read more of the story, the similarities that keep showing up between myself and Jones continue to appear. While the story begins in the worst of places, attempted suicide, if you keep reading (and I hope you will) the anguish will begin to fade for you and Jones. A story in which Jones learns to trust others and allow herself to become a part of a family that truly knows no end to their support. Action, adventure, and heartfelt characterizations make this a Grand Line of a roller-coaster, from beginning to (hopefully far away) end. o0o Warning- Suicide/Self Harm The Infamous Man - My Hero Academia meets Into the Spider-Verse in this fledgling story. Amazing Fantasy is shaping up to be a well written blending of the stories, with "Deku" Izuku Midoriya becoming the MHA world's Spider-Man! Roxas Itsuka - What happens when Izuku Midoriya falls into despair when All Might tells him he can't become a hero? When Midoriya attempts to follow Bakugo's advice (jump off a building and hope to be reborn with a quirk) only to be saved by the League of Villains. Deku becomes the name of a new villain in town in Good and Evil. o0o Warning- Suicide/Self Harm TheRealEvanSG - When Evan Johnson accidentally agrees to an offer made by All-Seeing Author, an omniscient being that may or may not have dropped Cross into This Bites!, he gets transported to the world of One Piece. That's right! It's another OP SI! Having acquired a Devil Fruit on Day 1 of his journey, Evan has to try to grow strong enough to survive the insanity of the Straw Hat crew. Maybe he'll even get a good story out of it in Ripples in the Pond Thomaster - While this isn't on FanFiction, but instead Space Battles. Twisted Tail is a fun story about Thomas, your average fan-fiction writer who unwittingly agrees to be sent into the story of One Piece! (Bet you didn't see that coming...) Having little memory on the plot, but being able to drop into the story at a time of his choosing, and being provided a Devil Fruit immediately, the story is fun til' the "end." o0o Sadly, as is also a theme here, this story had been seemingly dropped for an undisclosed period... EXNativo - What is the worst way that you could be brought into the My Hero Academia universe? Most fans, as well as the MC would probably agree that being reincarnated as Minoru Mineta would be near the top of the list. So of course that's what happens to the main character in Vitis Vinifera. This story makes for an interesting little offshoot if you need to depressurize your brain from a long read. Making Mineta into a "likeable" character is a tall order, so far it seems doable. Bad attitudes and excessive training lead to Mineta being a stronger grade-schooler than when he's in the canon Hero Course. NiteStar19 - In a surprising change of pace, another SI! This time, "Evelyn," our intrepid MC has no clue as to how she got into the world of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. All she knows is the story of her favorite series, and that somehow the world seem set up for her to help out. She manages to claim 2 Miraculouses, and with them, 2 Kwami. EXNaitvo - Death, the final adventure! Not for Lucas "Casket" Cask it isn't. After dying in the shower while singing, an asshole BROB/avatar of death, took his "soul," built him a new body from spare parts, and dropped him into the wonderful world on One Piece! Now an undead, soulless, abomination Cask has to survive in a world that is actively trying to kill him. Surprisingly, survival isn't that difficult when you're essentially Deadpool and have a finger permanently coated in Armament Haki. Will-Powered is a fun story filled with action, adventure, and attempted genocide of all dolphins. Yeomanaxel - A genius scientist in the One Piece world, Cifer was once an assistant to Dr. Vegapunk. Now living on an isolated island, he researches a variety of experiments on his own. One night, a tremendous storm hits, washing a wrecked Marine ship ashore. The horror inside wants to claim the world for itself. Will it succeed? Learn the events of that fateful discovery in Cifer's Log. Yeomanaxel - Damian Volta, a sort-of assassin, living in post-"Varnishing" Earth comes across a rather strange man. This man has dedicated his life to gathering, restoring, and completing his favorite story: One Piece, by Eiichiro Oda. Lightning strikes, burning Volta out of his world and into the pages of this edited masterpiece, into the world of Inkbolt! l OmegaInfinity l - Deku has a quirk! What could it be? Fusion, of course! Around age 4, Izuku Midoriya awakens the ability to fuse with objects (and people). Similar to Kevin Levin's power form Ben 10 Alien Force, and the Fusion Dances from DBZ and Steven Universe, he begins his journey to be the world's greatest hero, in Dekiru: The Fusion Hero! theslytherinpaladin - Izuku Midoriya has far greater proactive energy in this version of events, and hunts down Eraserhead's apartment. This leads to him training under the low-key hero, two years before he would have met All Might. Will he become the world's first quirkless superhero? Find out in Erased Potential! FruitPastilles - In a more slice-of-life style story, Izuku Midoriya awakens his own quirk while in Aizawa's classroom. He has the power of "A Golden Voice" that allows him to use his own energy to heal those around him, activated through humming or singing. In this story, everyone loves the adorable smol kitten-human known as Izuku, even Bakugo. Streggae - Izuku Midoriya reveals his quirk during his initial conflict with Bakugo, when the first punch was thrown, Izuku released a blast of light that sent the bullies flying. Unable to call it forth at will for a long time, he is still considered a "Quirkless, worthless Deku." Years after this confrontation, he learns he has not one, but two quirks! Light and Darkness able to manipulate opposing elements, can Izuku still become a hero? Find out in Dark Light! Stories whose authors have made a direct request that their stories be read (If I really enjoy them, they'll be added to the above list) Likely take a while to get to though, I haven't been feeling all that great and more familiar stories hold more direct comfort. mary.okeeffe.16 - With an insane 555 stories currently on this site, this is an enormous stockpile of short-stories if you need a breather or just something to pass the time. If an author is in my Favorites or Follows but not here yet, it isn't because I don't like your stories. It's simply that I treat the Favorites/Follows more as a way to keep track of the authors recommended to me either by other authors or means, and I haven't had a chance to start on any of the stories, yet. For example, Noodlehammer lead me to read This Bites!, where (through a crossover episode) I was sent to Vikingr, who in turn has sent me to TheRealEvanSG (in an Epic Rap Battles parody crossover). A few other authors are in my list but I only have so many hours in a day. Reading multiple series with several commonalities such as Dresden Files and Skulduggery Pleasant are one thing, reading 2-3 that are all set in the One Piece universe is a whole other kettle of fish... Not impossible to keep straight, but they can blend together resulting in some interesting ideas and/or skewed predictions. Some Light Novel/Web Novels I've been reading on other sites (some translations may differ): Kanekiru Kogitsune (金斬児狐) - Re: Monster Tanaka Yu (齐成琨) - I Was a Sword When I Reincarnated (転生したら剣でした) Fuse - That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (転生したらスライムだった件) Qi Peijia - The Legendary Mechanic Stories on Webnovel (Longer stories require "Power Stones" to unlock further chapters after ~50-90 chapters in) If you want to make an account due to my recommendations, please use my invite code/link so I can read more a little faster: Nxe0YE6i The Legendary Mechanic - "Han Xiao was a professional power leveler before his transmigration. Using his past life's knowledge, Han Xiao sweeps through the universe as he prepares for the arrival of the players. This is definitely not your typical transmigration novel." It's Not Easy to Be a Man After Travelling to the Future - "After dying from a strange terminal illness, Ling Lan was reborn into a world 10000 years into the future. Although she dearly wished she could just live a peaceful and uneventful life in her new healthy body, fate had other plans..." My Avatar is Broken - "A legendary game Avatar(character) that was supposed to be missing for more than 3years from the game "Neverlasting" was transported to a different world of swords and magic after being logged in by the former player John Smith. What will happen to John Smith in another world now that he is stuck in the body of his old avatar Leon Greed?" The King's Avatar - "In the online game Glory, Ye Xiu is regarded as a textbook and a top-tier pro-player. However, due to a myriad reasons, he is kicked from the team. After leaving the professional scene, he finds work in an Internet Cafe as a manager. When Glory launches its tenth server, he who possesses ten years of gaming experience once again throws himself into the game. Bringing with him the memories of his past and an incomplete, self-made weapon, his return along the road to the summit begins!" A Hero's Journey - "Here is the story of a scientist from a slightly futuristic earth that travels to the Marvel Universe. Find out how this universe will change with the addition of Mason Tunt." Library of Heaven's Path - "Traversing into another world, Zhang Xuan finds himself becoming an honorable teacher. Along with his transcension, a mysterious library appears in his mind. As long as it is something he has seen, regardless of whether it is a human or an object, a book on its weaknesses will be automatically compiled in the library. Thus, he becomes formidable." Perfectly average masked ninja? - "Jin enters the world of Naruto as your average orphaned baby. Follow him as he grows from average to strong."
