I'm waking up at the start of the end of the world,
The cars are moving, like, a half a mile an hour, and I
January 28, 2018: Heya, I'm still here, no worries. The holidays were a bit frantic, and also I've been sick with one cold after another for like a solid month, it's been exhausting. However I do have a bit of an odd announcement to make.
Full Circle is stalling out just a little bit, and that's because I have to sort out a lot of subplots I have planned for its 2nd act. I know the beginning of a story and I know the end of a story; it's the middle that gets me every time. I've also come to realize that a lot of what I have planned is rather dependent on what I do with a certain prequel fic I've had in the works since forever ago. In light of that, I maaaay have to switch tracks and work on said prequel fic before I finish FC instead of after. This will result in significant publishing delays, but at this point I've learned to just roll with it. Point is, I'm not going to abandon this again. Scout's honor.
Also I went and edited the statuses of a few of my WIP listings down below. For anyone who's curious.
July 12, 2017: Yo what up. First time logging onto this site in 6 years and it turns out PMs don't forward to my email inbox the way reviews do. Oops. Hello from the future to anyone still paying attention to me.
Updates: I Am Stardust is dead. The ACMSES is even deader. But thanks to Dark Side of Dimensions an one very enthusiastic beta, Full Circle may just be stirring in its grave.
I'm on AO3 now. I like it a lot better than FFN, and have a couple new stories posted there, in addition to mirrors of
November 26, 2011: Huh. Well that happened.
Yeah, I'm not even going to try to justify myself. There are reasons for my having been gone. A crapton of reasons. Under normal circumstances, I'd share those reasons with you my beloved readers (if any of you are actually still there)... but honestly, I'm just too fucking tired. Too tired of life, too tired of school, too tired of bullshit from people I thought I could trust.
So without getting into uncomfortable details, here's the lowdown:
I Am Stardust, which is not actually a fanfiction project, is my first priority in terms of updates, and will be for the foreseeable future. When I'm not working on that, I will be writing for The Anti-Cliche and Mary-Sue Elimination Society, and trying to get up the numerous stories that require completion before the season is out. Once said season is out, I will start work on my ACMSES season 3 subplot, which is currently unnamed. However, that will be a much less pressing issue, since chronology is no longer a factor at that point, so I might have time in between that and other things. During that time, and (probably) not a moment before, I will resume work on Full Circle. And that's not counting all the delays factored in by work and school.
If there's anyone still out there who wants a full explanation as to why it has to be this way, shoot me a message. If you think I'm a lousy author who can't write for shit and doesn't know how to prioritize, by all means, message me about that too. My policy of responding to each and every PM I receive still stands.
In other news, I might - might - be migrating over to Archive Of Our Own at some point. Not permanently, of course, I wouldn't take down my FFN page for love or money. But I think I like the format and interface of AO3 better. Plus, expanding my audience is always a good idea. So if - if - this happened, I'd be posting stories on two sites instead of one. Not bad, I suppose.
INFP - "Healer". High capacity for caring. Emotional face to the world. High sense of honor derived from internal values. 4.4 of total population. --From Similar Minds, Myers-Briggs personality test.
I've decided to cut this section of my profile entirely, at least for now.
Projects That Are Being Really Quite Seriously Worked On:
I have so many ideas in the works, it's not even funny. Well, Hikari-chan thinks it's funny, but I find it annoying. So, for the sake of my sanity (and your's), I'm only putting in this section long-term projects and stories that might actually make it to FFN. Thank you.
Full Circle: (Yu-Gi-Oh!) My main project at the moment. My attempt to both tie up all the loose ends left in an otherwise fantastic series, and to make sense of some strange happenings going on in my own life.
FEAR THE DEMON PUPPY - For anyone who wants to know what the creepy shadow-wolf-thingies look like, look no further! Everyone say thank you to Hikari-Katsuya (neffelogokkia on FFN) for illustrating!
Change of Heart - This is my twentieth birthday present from the wonderful and incredibly talented Dragon-Tooth (aka LightningSorceress on dA). 'Tis a highly symbolic picture of Ryou and his guardians, meant to represent the concept of "Change of Heart." Totally spoilery, but I officially love her for doing this!
Full Circle Trailer 2009 - My 21st birthday present (good lord, has it been a year already?!), once again from Dragon-Tooth (still LightningSorceress on Youtube). And guess what? It's Full Circle's first TRAILER! YAY!! Ah hearts it much.
I'm also writing three oneshots meant to tie in to the FC timeline. Preferably these would come out before the re-premier of Full Circle, but I make it a point not to over-estimate my abilities. XD (NOTE FROM THE FUTURE: Yes, these are still a thing, but I have no idea when I'll get around to writing them.) Each one focuses on a different character, pre-FC. Two of them will definitely be written in DEEP SHIT, and the third has a couple of DEEP SHIT aspects. They are: Everywhere Light (Atem-centric), All That Is (Bakura-centric), and Pure Imagination (Pegasus-centric), the last of which is already finished and posted.
Projects That Will Be Poked At From Time To Time But Still Have A Significant Chance Of Being Completed:
Five Fathers: (Yu-Gi-Oh!) A series of five unconnected oneshots about each of the five fathers mentioned in YGO canon. Again, loosely set in the universe of Full Circle which, in turn, is loosely set in the universe of Beginning of the End. So, just to tie up any loose ends, and because I think about backstories way too much, I started this. The first installment, That Which Rises And Falls, is finally posted (side-fic and all!), and others are almost completely planned out. In addition to Gozaburo, there will also be Joey's father, Marik's father, Ryou's father, and, if I can think of something interesting enough, Yugi's father. Most likely in that order. FC spoilers abound in almost every installment! You have been warned! (NOTE FROM THE FUTURE: Also still a thing, part of Circleverse, updated when I feel like it.)
The Land and the Sea and the Sky: (Kingdom Hearts) The title is largely inspired by one of Scribbler's fics, I'll admit it, but the premise is completely different. It's actually an excuse to go really in-depth with the characters of the main KH trio without including much plot. XD I still haven't decided how I want to format it though: either the three chapters would be the three different characters, all taking place after the finale of KH2, or the three chapters would alternate between the characters and be divided by when they took place instead - pre-canon (the kids growing up), interlude (Sora's long nap), and after the finale. Tons of ideas for this, but it's difficult to get them on paper for some reason.
Projects That I Really Really Really Want To Finish But Have Gone Unpoked For A Rather Long Time Or Have Otherwise Lost Their Mojo:
My Sanctuary: (Kingdom Hearts) The lyrics of the second theme song always reminded me of Namine for some reason... which is fitting, considering she's the one holding everything together at that point. So I came up with a three-part piece to explore her character, specifically the progression and development of her character as the events of the canon plot unfold. We'll see how it goes.
a Light unto the Darkness: (Yu-Gi-Oh!) This could be considered part of the FC timeline if you want, and I'll probably insert references to such, but for the most part it stands completely on its own. Once again, a DEEP SHIT-ed fanfic (I can't get enough of these, XD), this time following Kisara as she waits in the Shadow Realm with only her memories to comfort her.
Sweet Sacrifice: (Inuyasha) Something sort of AUish I randomly came up with while listening to the Evanescence song. It's probably the darkest thing I've ever come up with for a fanfic though, so take the rating seriously when it comes up. I'll probably post the complete version - the one with song lyrics in the background - on deviantArt, if you want to see it. EDIT: It has literally been years since I've worked on this, but I'm keeping it on the list because I am determined to get it done. Someday, I don't know when, but someday, this will get finished. (NOTE FROM THE FUTURE: Maybe?)
The Anti-Cliche and Mary-Sue Elimination Society: A C2 Community that was created a while back, headed by Mei1105 and founded by Anikathepen. It started out as an excuse to make self-inserts of ourselves while chasing a renegade Mary-Sue and indulging in fangirl love, but as it's spread it's grown into so much more! There are now nearly 300 stories in the series, spanning as many fandoms, and each one has been a pleasure to either read or write. I feel like I know my fellow Society members personally, and the whole ride has been such a great blast!
Fantasy Tale: The story of the Wanderers, the handpicked messengers of the Empress. What little I have of it is posted at a freewebs site my friend Kage-chan manages for me. I actually haven't worked on this in a while. Most of my interest is in my fanfics at the moment, but I'll get back to it eventually. For now, you can look at it if you want. Just know that my writing has improved dramatically since this began...
I Am Stardust: A blog contributing to the Slenderman Mythos. I knew when I started that this would take up more time and effort than I could really spare, but I did it anyway, and I don't regret it. It's been, and continues to be, an amazing experience, and I've learned so much.
If you are a dreamer, come in!
