"The hug of death!" -Jasmine Dreams
Thoughts and Junk and Stuff and Junk and Stuff: Why hello there. I am Artificial Dreams, alternatively known as Hyper Pegasus. Why didn't I use Hyper Pegasus as my Pen Name? I don't actually remember why, but I do know changing it now would just confuse people. So for your sanity and my laziness, it is still Artificial Dreams. But you may call me Pegzy. Or whatever other name you want to. I don't care. Usually.
If you watch me for my Pokemon fanfiction, then you may be interested to know I have a Pokemon Tumblr where I accept art and fanfic drabble requests. Right here, actually.
Concerning Plasma Grunts: Some of you may have noticed a trend of Plasma Grunt OCs in my fanfics. I do not apologize. Part of what makes the Unova/Isshu region so special to me is that it's so remarkably easy to make a grunt member into something fuller. Some PG (Plasma Grunt) OCs are made from scratch, and others are inspired from in-game dialogue... basically meaning some of these are actual game characters that I am treating exactly the same way I treat the main protagonists. Look at their design, observe what few canon bits of dialogue or implications of dialogue there is, and utilize that in fleshing them into a full, human character readers can relate to. On a side-note, I find that Team Grunts can really add to the overall feel of a Pokemon game in a sense. Imagine a Pokemon game where there is a team, but no grunts. Only the higher-ups, desperately trying to do everything on their own. There's no grunts for you to battle, to get easy money and experience from. There are no jokes to be made about their incompetency (Team Rocket) or their crazy extremists ways (Teams Aqua, Magma, and Plasma). And there's little chance for the main protag to grow - imagine being in your early teens, just setting out on a journey. You battle gyms for badges, and then challenge the Elite Four to become a region's champion. What does that tell you about the main protag? Almost nothing, except maybe they're very competitive or perhaps they're following the motions of every other trainer out there.
Throw in terrorists, or the mafia, or astronauts gone horribly wrong... well, suddenly you find yourself exploring, Why would this kid want to save the world? Why is it only a child, and no one else, seems to even try to?
On Main Protags in Pokemon: Some consistent reviews/PMs I've been getting since writing in the Pokemon fandom is something along the lines of, "I'm glad to see you don't write the main protag as yourself." Has then been a consistent problem for awhile??Anyway, I find it interesting that people consider it to be a problem. How do you know it is or isn't a self-insert? Is it because someone writes the characters more in-line with your head-canon? More in-line with the fan-canon? It's interesting. With Touya, each fic I write him in I try a different angle on his personality. Often, I write Touya's personality with what I find attractive in a male (Bits and Pieces). Simple as that. Or, sometimes, with what would be the most fun in his interactions with N (Holidays and Horrors). Writing for Red is easy - PixivRed (is that what you kids are calling it these days?) is my head-canon. As for the protags of GSC/HGSS, RSE, and DPP... haven't really written anything for them yet, so who knows?
Current "Raging" Fandoms: G.U: Haseo/Silabus; Digimon Frontier: Kouji/Takuya (permanent state of mind, actually); Mana Khemia: Roxis/Vayne; Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning/Hope (with Lightning being DOMINANT. Ugh, there's like... none out there. D: ); Pokemon: Green/Red, N/Touya
Ordinary World: Chapter Seven is still very much in the early works - I am currently trying to find a good way to go about it. I am out of practice in getting the proper awkward, tense atmosphere that would be accompanying the situation it begins with... so as a result, I myself am awkwardly trying to write it, hahah! Anyway, four and half paragraphs (10 font).
Undisclosed Desires: HAHAHA. Apparently I was in one weird state at some point, because I had written most of chapter 5. UPDATED! Now to work on chapter 6...
Gender Bender: Since this is actually intended as a humor/romance, and I can get INSANELY critical of my humor writings... the next update may be awhile. I require the second chapter to be funny, and it WILL BE FUNNY. If I have to run in circles babbling incoherently (luckily, you will never hear this because this is the internet and we are not on Skype...)
