Hello, I'm Geth. I've been on this site for a while. I'm sure if you read all the author's notes I've ever written, you'll be able to piece together a worryingly accurate description of my personal details. I'm banking on nobody having the patience to do that. This being said, a mysterious number does keep ringing my mobile so perhaps I've underestimated how bored someone is.
I am on this site somewhat sporadically - I have phases of being around every day and then disappearing for weeks. This is partly due to having a fairly limited amount of free time and partly because I am often working on other projects. However, I've kept email alerts enabled to an account that I check daily so if you send me a message or a review, I will see it. I try to reply to every message or review I receive but this may not be for a few days/weeks. I think the worst I've done is about 10 weeks.
I will read a fic if you ask me to but this is subject to the free time I have. Equally, if you ask me to write something and I've agreed to it, I can't guarantee when it will be done.
Otherwise, I hope you enjoy my writing. The older stuff isn't particularly good - feel free to constructively criticise anything but I like to think I've improved over the past 7 years (might be wrong but it's what I like to think). And while I absolutely love it when someone reviews, favourites or follows something I write (albeit I may be confused if you choose to follow a oneshot/completed fic), I have one main policy on this site: if someone out there reads it and likes it, then I'm happy. So if I put up a chaptered fic and you like it but you're too shy - or don't want to make an account - to say anything, just keep reading. I'll see that you viewed the next chapter and, on the basic assumption that if you dislike something, you won't continue to read, I'll know you enjoyed it and want me to continue.
As for my THG stuff, I feel I should make 3 quick points:
1) With the exception of my two humour stories and my one AU story, my stories tend to overlap a bit. This shouldn't be an issue as everything is written to be read as though you haven't read anything else, though the odd reference may escape you. There's no order to read them in. Obviously, the two sequels I've written are better understood if you've read the prequels.
2) I try to use American English terms but I do not use American spelling. Using American English would get me into bad habits in any work I do here and I don't think it's enough of an issue that I should alter it, given the words basically sound the same (excepting aluminium which I believe is aluminum in the US. I'll just skip that word).
3) As I started writing before the second book was even out, earlier stories have canon errors in them - such as district trades, naming themes and other things I couldn't have known at the time it was written. Some things will therefore change in later stories but some things which I've already created will stay the same, despite it being a canon error. I don't think there's anything particularly drastic though.
I try to review when I read and I (nearly) always give concrit. This isn't because I don't like your story but because I think anything can be improved. Rest assured, I apply the same standard to myself and welcome any concrit myself. I don't put anything or anyone on alert (because I've usually reviewed a story I want to follow so I check the review page for updates), I rarely favourite a story and almost never favourite an author (in fact, at the time of writing, I haven't favourited anyone): you pretty much have to really impress me for me to favourite you.
Hope you enjoy and have a good day :)
