Author has written 9 stories for Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, CSI: Miami, House, M.D., and Indiana Jones.
Hey all! Chaser here. I've been on an extended break from fanfiction, but I'm thinking of jumping back in. I wrote a Harry Potter fic a long time ago that was so bad I ended up deleting it, and I haven't ever tried again. But I've been enjoying so many HP stories lately that I've been somewhat inspired to try again, perhaps with a one or two shot.
What's to know about me? Well, let's face it. This is the internet so there's only so much I'm going to say, but then again I'm also guessing there's only so much you want to hear? Am I right? So here's the gist of me. I'm currently a college student studying in Maryland. I'm a double major in Writing and Film and Media Studies. When I go home I fly to Boston, 'cause that's my hometown (well, near-ish Boston). Writing is the only thing I've ever felt that I am even slightly competent at, so needless to say I have a love/hate relationship with it. I'm sure you all can relate, but when you right something good the feeling is just amazing! But getting to that point usually requires a lot of time and more than a few advil.
Now that we're done with introductions, here's basically a summary of stuff I like. It probably says more about me than everything I wrote above.
Favorite Books (not necessarily in this order)
East of Eden - John Steinbeck
The Count of Monte Cristo - Alexander Dumas
The Stand - Stephen King
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
The Rapture of Caanan - Sheri Reynolds
Deja Dead - Kathy Reichs
Lord of the Rings Series - J.R.R. Tolkien
Harry Potter Series - J.K. Rowling
It's Kind of a Funny Story - Ned Vizzini
Singin' in the Rain
It Happened One Night
It's a Wonderful Life
Love Me Tonight
Psycho, Rear Window, The 39 Steps (pretty much all Hitchcock movies)
Bringing Up Baby
Lord of the Rings
Indiana Jones (All except Temple)
Pride and Prejudice (Mini-series and new movie)
Sound of Music
The Lion King
Favorite TV Shows - Just so that you know, my love for television borders on psychotic
Lost (One of the best shows ever. Period. No Discussion Allowed.)
Psych (the dialogue, the acting, the sets, hell even the promos - everything about this show is brilliant.)
Criminal Minds (underated in my opinion, but a great show.)
Bones (although I don't know how much longer I'll be watching, the writing's gotten quite atrocius)
A Taste of My Favorite Music (cause really my ipod has a lot on it)
Glee Music (Yes, I'm a Gleek), Bruno Mars, Neon Trees, Mat Kearney, Sara Bareilles (I just want to be her), Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Jon Schmidt (He does absolutely wonderful modern piano songs), Maroon 5, Five for Fighting, Counting Crows, The Plain White T's, Parachute, Cee Lo Green (or Gnarls Barkley or whatever the hell he's calling himself these days), KT Tunstall, The All American Rejects, Gin Blossoms, James Taylor, Yellowcard, The Who
Ok, so I don't want to come out and say that I'm not writing "The Son" anymore, but...um...ya. Truth be told, I don't even watch CSI: Miami anymore. I'm pretty loyal to shows but the writing on that one has just gone so far downhill. And the acting isn't far behind. I literally can't watch it. Also, Kyle's character isn't on the show anymore so I don't have a lot of inspiration/stuff to work with.
I've been on FF sabbatical for a while now, mostly because I'm in college and I'm a writing major so any writing I do is for class. But Christmas break is only weeks away and I'm feeling really motivated to jump back into FF. All the writing I've been doing for class has my pen a little sharper, so to speak. Right now I'm pretty positive I'm going to write some Harry Potter ficlets, seeing as that's what's been on my mind lately (what with the new movie).
