Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter.
Time for an update. A little background; I love reading, hiking, writing, travel, and pets of the fluffy kind, not necessarily in that order. I am a huge fan of Tolkien (my first fantasy read), although the second author I was exposed to (Piers Anthony) certainly helped develop a little of my snarkier/pun-loving side of things. Then Dragonlance, classics like Heinlein and Asimov, continued right up to Rowling and more modern authors...so many good stories! But I never really had much knowledge of or interest in fanfiction, until I read some. There are some great authors out there. Jeconais, I think, was the first to reel me in. To all of you who do this, thank you, and may you keep writing; you are an inspiration!
I write a lot professionally, but not fantasy or sci fi; I certainly never thought of writing fanfiction. It seemed like it would be fun to try, but I didn't have any specific stories I wanted to do. That obviously has changed or I wouldn't be here. I have been thinking more and more of stories to tell as I have gotten older. While some ideas I am writing are new content for worlds of my own, I decided to give this a try.
So thanks to all of you following along with the Goblin Entreaty and the Dragon Wand stories. I promise they are still going and will continue to do so. Life happens...yada yada yada. I won't stop until they are complete, even if slowed here and there. Thanks to those of you who warned me against doing 2 at the same time, but I find so far it helps me refocus my voice in each and to think about what I'm doing a little less (hopefully) lackadaisically than I might otherwise. I am having great fun with them so far.
As noted, I am trying to develop my writing skills and am enjoying playing with the worlds that others have created. That means feedback isn't just fun, it HELPS! As you other writers know, it is hard to tell if you are being too subtle or not subtle enough on clues and foreshadowing, so feedback helps so much to know how you're doing. So if you have constructive feedback, welcome and please, please share.
If you on the other hand just have flames to share, let me just preemptively say, 'cool burn' 'you sure showed me' and 'I bow before your brilliance." We cool? Noice. Now, please just move along and read something you like more. Why waste your time writing about how much you dislike my work when you could be reading something else better suited to your tastes instead? There are so many wonderful stories here, just keep looking and you'll find one you like more soon...
As you can probably tell from a quick reading, I am flying solo at the moment, so I am doing my best on grammar, etc. Always looking for a good beta test, though.
Finally, the disclaimer: none of this is mine; it all builds on the genius of others (especially J. K. Rowling as of now), et cetera...Thanks for letting us all play too.
As for me,
