In between writing original sagas, I do fan fiction to test elements of writing. Like exercises. Robots, Reptiles & a Vampire was to test comedy and I failed miserably.
A Life Less Ordinary as told by Li Mei was an exercise in big action sequences and fight scenes. You can tell from the first 25 pages being a long action sequence and each chapter has a fight scene.
Icarus: A Boy Named Pit is an exercise in a journey. Traveling from point A to point B while keeping the reader interested. Someone commented that I can get sued if I do not mention Nintendo owns the copyrights. Funny thing is Nintendo barely owns the copyrights to a game that involves Greek mythology.
MK vs DOA was an experiment less of an exercise to see if I could work a novel with 25 characters. The exercise was in descriptions, which is why there was a full page worth of description about each DOA character.
MK vs DC: When the fighting stops the love begins is an exercise with insanity. Trying to make a superhero more than mortal story about love, relationships and jerkishness. Actually, it is a jerkish unromantic comedy.
Other things that I write are just quirky little notes.
