Author has written 8 stories for Star Ocean, Portal, Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy XII, Elder Scroll series, and Vocaloid.
Hello, this is LadySchadenfreude. And this, obviously, is my profile. Thanks for stopping by!
A quick bio:
I've been posting on this site for a few years now, but I've been writing ever since I was a kid. That's not to say I was any good, just that I really liked writing.
Things that I enjoy include sweeping the floor, sewing, cleaning, and cooking. No, really. I also love Disney movies and fantasy novels. Needless to say (just look at what few things I've posted), I also love a good RPG, particularly those with more storyline than action. The Elder Scrolls series is my favorite and greatest gaming passion. Mostly, I'm dork for all kinds of in-game lore. I don't play Skyrim for dungeon crawls; I play for the books.
Where reading or writing is concerned, I'm really fond of the kind of plots that involve careful analysis of different factors; I'm more likely to enjoy a drama than an action story. I also like stories that build on or complete sections of hanging plot in a work; I don't like re-tellings of an existing work much. I also love a good original character. I like romances of nearly any type, so long as they're well-written, but I have the common young lady's weakness for slashfic. Angst is my bread and butter. I will also cop to getting weepy over hurt/comfort fics, too. I assure you, though: I'm a lot pickier than I sound.
My dislikes include (deep breath) dungeon crawls, zombies, cliche plot lines, cliche characters, that time between winter and spring where everything's half-frozen mud, misplaced commas (I plead guilty), procrastination (I plead very guilty), large crowds, pizza, spiders, romantic comedies, hard drive crashes, slapstick comedy, and bigotry.
That's not to say that we won't be friends if you like the above. Whatever floats your boat. (Though you may be out of luck if you happen to be either a spider or a bigot.) Feel free to message me any time.
More Pertinent Information (AKA, Things I'm Actually Writing)
Terminate: GLaDOS, beneath her personality cores, has ambitions all her own. Situations are beyond her control, but she still has one thing she can manipulate to her will. Though the human psyche reacts in ways she cannot always understand, she must compensate.
(9/30/2013) Wow. So, I wrote chapter 8 a year and a half ago, and I still haven't posted it? I admit, while I still sporadically work on this story, I can't speak to when it will be finished. It's not exactly on permanent hiatus, just on a very, very low simmer. In the kitchen of the house that I moved out of a year ago. Extended metaphor aside, I'm still planning on only posting when I have the story either finished, or nearly so.
Between Clouds (Or, why Vaan should not pick flowers): When Vaan goes missing, international politics be damned; Balthier, Fran, and Penelo are the only ones who can save him. Funny. The boy who helped save two empires and a kingdom might have expected better.
(6/1/2014) I'm back on this one, with chapters eight and nine completely finished. Knowing my sporadic update schedule, I don't plan on posting anything until I am at least five chapters ahead. In order to keep the updates coming smoothly, I'm going to ration them out on a weekly basis, and hope that keeps me writing and motivated.
Painted in Black: Based on Imitation Black. AU. KaitoxGakupoxLen. Kaito is still figuring out who he is. Len would give anything to forget himself. Gakupo seems collected... on the surface. It was only supposed to be rough sex, but what if they want more?
(9/30/13) Chapter three is now almost finished, but I'm facing some serious writers' block. I still love the concept of the story, but I need more time on the plot. I'm not dropping the story, but I make no promises regarding new chapters.
As for everything else, I have piles and piles of half-finished works, some of which get finished and posted. From me, you're most likely to see fanfictions from Final Fantasy, Zelda, Star Ocean, and Elder Scrolls games, but that's obviously not set in stone. As anyone who has talked to me for over ten minutes knows all too well, I also have an Elder Scrolls WIP that I have then intention of posting here one day. However, that's a huge project, and it'll take years to wrap up.
Currently, I am four completed chapters into a Tangled fic. The subject matter is very personal for me, and writing it has become a much-needed outlet. I would like to post it one day, but I am going to use the same policy that I have for Between Clouds: let me get a few chapters ahead, and then I will release my new baby out into the world.
And, as always, please enjoy my fanfictions. Thanks, guys!
EDIT 6/1/2014: So, I did crank out the promised chapters, but I'm not posting them just yet. I am still in college, still working full time, and still with the love of my life. However, I've run into a brick wall of health problems, and I somehow decided that now was a good time to buy a fixer-upper first home? I can't explain my logic, all I can say is that I still love writing fanfic. And I still love all my readers. Writing will always be an important part of my life, but I just can't crank out chapters like I did in high school. I'll never stop writing, and I hope I will never stop posting. Things are just going to stay slow for the forseeable future.
