Author has written 10 stories for Legacy of Kain, Resident Evil, Elder Scroll series, and G. I. Joe.
My name is Mike and as of October 2013, I am a published novelist. I self-published a fantasy novel on Amazon and I am currently working on my second, to be published (hopefully) in June of 2014. Right now I am working solely on my original fiction, and do not have plans to publish any more fan fiction in the immediate future. If you are interested in checking out my work on Amazon, please send me an email.
Resident Evil: Legends
It took me something like seven years to write this, but the Legends Saga is now complete. For those of you who haven't read it, it's a series based, obviously, on the Resident Evil video game series. Part One starts when Albert Wesker and William Birkin first join the Umbrella Corporation. Part Two covers the events of Resident Evil: Zero. Part Three covers the infamous Mansion Incident from the original game. Part Four covers the events in between Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2. Part Five and Part Six show the infection and eventual destruction of Raccoon City, and Part Seven deals with the aftermath of the entire story and sets the stage for the future.
A bit of explanation. Resident Evil Legends is my personal attempt to write a continuous, coherent, and believable version of the RE universe. I love the characters and storyline of Resident Evil, but too many events in the games are ridiculous and silly. There are tons of plot holes and inconsistencies in the games, not the mention the illogical puzzles and other annoying details. I wanted to create one piece of fiction that would resolve all the plot holes and remove all the unrealistic details. I also wanted to write a serious version of RE where Wesker is more than a one-dimensional villain. Wesker is truly the main character of the entire RE universe, and he deserved more than a simple "evil genius" stereotype.
Anyway, many people have asked how long I plan to continue working on Resident Evil. I had originally planned to continue the narrative with an all-new saga that I was going to start working on in 2013, which would incorporate the events of Resident Evil: Code Veronica and the mysterious Ashford family. However, now that I have started publishing on Amazon, I am afraid I will have to delay those plans. Right now I have to focus on my original fiction in the hopes of selling some copies so that I can quit my day job and wrote for a living. Until that happens, I cannot promise when I will return to the Resident Evil universe.
I also had plans to write two shorter stand-alone stories, one featuring Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen, and the other starring Ada Wong and Hunk. Those may still see the light of day at some point. However, I am not writing anything based on the events of Resident Evil 4 or other games in the series. If you have any comments or questions about the Legends series, feel free to send me a message or leave a review.
GI Joe: Rise of Cobra
I have a novel based on GI Joe that I started writing before I saw the live-action movie, although I have seen the movie since then. I think my novel serves as a good version of what a GI Joe movie could have been, that stays a bit closer to the original comic. I didn't think the movie was bad, but it obviously changed a lot of characters and I think went a bit too far with the unrealistic action scenes. I've gotten lots of great feedback for the novel, so hopefully I've done a good job with that as well. I have a sequel partially planned and outlined, but I honestly don't think I will ever be able to write it.
Morrowind: The Solstheim Conspiracy
I have a novel based on Morrowind (the Bloodmoon expansion specifically) that is now finally complete after many long delays. It is mostly faithful to the game until about halfway through, and then starts going off in a new direction. My published novel on Amazon was originally intended as a re-write of this novel, and during the writing process the plot changed significantly, so now the two novels have very little in common except the name of the main character and the fact that it is set in a snowy landscape.
Legacy of Kain: Blood Brothers
The first story I posted on FanFiction, and in fact the first fan fiction story I had ever even tried to write, is based on the Legacy of Kain video games. I wrote the entire story back in 2003 or so and posted it here all at once, not really knowing what to expect. Until that point, I had only written original fiction. I have also written a few chapters of another story based on Legacy of Kain, but at this point I will probably never finish it.
