Author has written 24 stories for Firefly, Yu Yu Hakusho, Maximum Ride, Howl's Moving Castle, Slayers, Sailor Moon, Sorcerer's Apprentice, 2010, Transformers, Transformers/Beast Wars, Disney, and Avatar: Last Airbender.
To my readers of The Long Road Home; I am so close to finishing the story, like I'm pretty sure there are only three chapters until it's all done and ready for consumption. :D I know it's taken a long time just to get this far, and for that I'm sorry. NaNoWriMo ate up a big chunk of my time, even after November, but my robots still have things to do! Anyway, I just thought you guys deserved to know.
So close! XD
My home site:
So I realize that the top of this has become website-central, but I just noticed that FF.net did away with the little 'home' button on the profile pages for some reason which means the link to my blog has disappeared. Anyway, I'm posting a picture a day on my blog for the next year and I'm hoping more people will find it interesting. :) Also contains kreons, and probably some original writing or artwork.
If anyone is interested in my original work, please go here. The site's a little scanty right now, because it's new, but I'm gonna try and change that pretty quick. Any feedback would be much appreciated!
And my deviantart page if anyone cares to see it. Have a few Transformers inspired works up there and hoping to add to it soon. :)
Thank you all!
So, I've never been very good with things like this, but the point's to tell a little about yourself right? Well, here goes I guess.
Like you may have guessed from my username above, I tend to go by Rose. I like it. It's pretty. Plus I have a slight obsession with roses. n.n I'm an art student and I love to write. A dream of mine is to write books as well as paint for/illustrate them. I think it would just be so amazing.
Let's see, what else...
Current obsession: Transformers, no doubt about it, but older ones include (that I still love even though there not currently at the very forefront of my mind) Yu Yu Hakusho (love it!) Sorcerer's Apprentice (XD So awesome!) Sailor Moon (don't laugh, but I think the manga is really cool and not nearly as cheesy as the anime), Slayers (YESSSSS!!!! Brilliancy among crazy persons!)
So those are probably the big ones, although I really love Inuyasha and Rurouni Kenshin too (along with Yu Yu Hakusho they are my three grandfathers of anime I love, the very first ones I watched with any kind of interest, and there was a lot of interest). I'm a really big lover of sci-fi and fantasy, as well as most things Disney (I can't help it, I love fairy tales and magic and princesses - sometimes along with sappy endings - just where did you think my love of fantasy came from?) along with all of Hayao Miyazaki's movies (although Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle are my very, very, favorites. Calcifer is just so CUTE!!!)
Probably my three favorite books in the entire world are Alice in Wonderland (the Cheshire Cat is my favorite!) The Abarat series by Clive Barker (you should go read it now if you haven't heard of it before), and The Chronicles of Narnia, which I know is technically seven books (Let's face it, Lucy is the bravest, most faithful little girl in the literary world and Aslan is downright numinous (brilliant word, go look it up)).
I'm all excited over the new Evanescence album coming out tomorrow, but favorite music ranges from anything to Tchaikovsky's Coffee (Arabian Dance) from the Nutcracker, Secrets by OneRepublic, Awake and Alive by Skillet, and Rabbit Heart and/or Heavy in Your Arms by Florence and the Machine
I also love words. I think I'm on my way to becoming a word collector (oh! It just sounds cool!)
I also have a digital cat; world, meet Mrs. Mittens - ..
Mrs. Mittens, world.
Now I warn you, I tend to be a horrible procrastinator, but I'm trying to be better. I'm even going to try writing out a list of coming attractions, so to speak, in the hopes that it'll help by giving me some accountability. If there's something you want to read, bug me about it. A lot.
On the flip side of that thought, I'm thinking about removing Maximum Ride, Maximum Fall and 7th Year from my list because honestly, I haven't heard them in my head for years. Sorry if you liked them. But then I haven't decided one way or another yet.
Other then that I really identify with a saying I heard from the ladies at the Botosphere (look them up if your into really good Transformers stories): reviews are love from readers, and chapters are love from writers. Mrs. Mittens agrees with me. Doncha Mrs. Mittens? >n.n
List of Things (Hopefully) to Come!
Feels Like Christmas: Transformers, more holiday shenanigans for the biggest holiday of the year around here! But be warned! Contains uncertain younglings, over the top decorations, something-that-resembles-snow, femmes with mistletoe, and the Twins getting more then coal for Christmas. Mostly silly with bits of bittersweet thrown in. Will hopefully be up soon.
Never Stop Running: Yu Yu Hakusho, planned as a first in a series of three, but we'll see how that turns out. I'm so close to the ending of this one that I can practically taste it!
More Than Words: Slayers, one shot inspired by the soundtrack song for Zelgadis, sort of fits in the same line as In Other Words
Slayers: CHAMPIONS: Slayers, of course, multi-chapter, but I've only just barely started it so we'll see...
The Enchantress of the Mire: or 'Why You Should Never Tick Off Powerful Sorceresses Who Have A Sense of Humor', think of it this way, Fairy Tales: Slayers style! Oh yeah...
Halloween Thriller(s): Transformers, the holiday mischief is back! Oh yeah! What happens when you have younglings hyped up on too much candy, funny costumes, and waaay to much Michael Jackson? Exactly what you'd expect of course! Mwuhahahahaha! X3 It'll be a Halloween Aria won't soon forget, no matter how hard she tries... Still mulling things over but definitely psyched! XD
The Other Side of the Cybertronian Tracks: Transformers, a parallel story for I Lost A World! but from Sera's point of view, not nearly as long though n.n;
The Long Road Home: Began working on it 11/11/11! Now let's see if I can make it to a finish date... Transformers, sequel to I Lost A World! I've got quite a bit planned around this story if you can't tell ;p Since I started posting today (Jan. 24, 2012, note to self: mark it!) this no longer really counts as a 'planned' story, but it can't go down in the 'finished' section either, so think of this one as in progress. In progress every Tuesday, probably.
Note On the Above: Yay! New story up and running as of...Now! Hooray! Kind of nervous about writing this for fear that it won't be as good as the first one, but, well, Aria will be very upset with me if I don't try. And my brain may explode if I don't get her entire life story written down somewhere. You may ask, "This sequel encompasses Aria's whole life?" Why no, no it doesn't. That's part of my problem...but it may bode well for any fans of ILAW!...
Catharsis: Transformers, one-shot set after ILAW!, but don't really have to read the long story to understand this one. The goings on between an Autobot leader and a certain femme...if I were to describe it in one word it would be sweet. Hoping to finish and post it around the start of next year.
A Still Unnamed TFA Story whose plot bunny just about ripped my arm off when it bit me: No I am not kidding. I swear I almost lost an arm with that stupid bunny. However it did get me to write about seven full chapters in less then a week. n_n;
Anyway, it's a 'what if' story about how things would have been if Elita had gone to Archa-7 (spider planet) on an official mission with elite guard members Sentinel and Glyph only to end up spiderfied. Now the big question is, how is she going to explain this to her sparkmate and their son?
Unexpected Company: Sorcerer's Apprentice, title might change since I'm not entirely pleased with it, but a short fic involving demons and a former apprentice of Balthazar's
Inside Looking Out [at Blue Eyes?: Sorcerer's Apprentice, possibly just called Blue Eyes, possibly just Inside Looking Out; what do you think life was like for Veronica in the Grimhold, trapped with the greatest evil unknown to man while her beloved takes on his quest to free her?
One Hour Ago: Sorcerer's Apprentice, one shot, one hour after the battle with Morgana
So there you have it; the list of those stories most likely to finished sometime in the partially near future. X3 Hopefully you'll see them up here soon.
Ah, what the heck? Let's add a FINISHED section too:
The Inbetween: Just something that sprang viciously into my head when I watched the last episode of Transformers Animated. o.O Noooo! Prowl! But what really awaits him in death? And why has he only met the one human girl here? This was definitely not what he thought dying would be like...
The Great Shamrock Incident: And with a title like that, you just gotta know that something big is coming...n_n...Transformers again, another youngling story, although I think this is the youngest I've written them. Anyway, them Sunstreaker green paint = Saint Patrick's Day madness! Totally didn't know I had this story in me until I finished it. Of course now that I have I'm not sure why I didn't think of it sooner... ;)
Attack of the Valentines!: Transformers, also in my Aria Universe and sort of goes along the lines of Bang, Flash, Boom!. The younglings are at it again except this time its the holiday of romance that's up to bat. Only this time they won't be the only ones celebrating...a short series of oneshots with everything from friendship, family, flirting, and a good heaping dose of facepalm idiocy. Just my way to celebrate a day that to single people like me is really just another Tuesday in the end...
Muddling Through: Transformers, oneshot, alternate ending for ILAW! but takes place around Christmas. I finally got this finished! YES! Although hoo boy it's freakin' long. I may have to break it up into more manageable chunks later. We'll see how it's received first. Just so you know I am quite dissatisfied with the summary I smashed out. Unfortunately I have no idea what to change it too. *Sigh* The beginning of my Alternate Aria 'Verse. Well, I guess it's only the beginning if more follows...anyway the basic premise is 'What would have happened if 'Bee hadn't followed the Autobots to the Space Bridge and Aria had returned home with Sera? How would this affect her life with them?'
Bang, Flash, Boom!: n.n Oh I feel so happy. I wrote this in only a few hours (and with the distraction of a TF New Year's Eve marathon too ;p) so hooray for me! This was so cute that I just want to write more! If only I could think of some other messes adventurous younglings could get into to... *Squee!* So excited!
I Lost A World!: YESSSSS!!!! I HAVE FINISHED IT! 27 chapters later and it's finally all neat and pretty and finished!!! I am so excited about this. I had to tell my whole family as soon as I published it. My very first finished multi-chapter story. *Sniff* I'm so happy... XD Hope you love it!
Not So Formal Introductions: Transformers one shot, takes place in between the break in my story ILAW! chapter 7. You didn't think Aria's introduction to the Jazz, Wheeljack, and Ratchet went smoothly after all, did you? *Sneaky grin*)
It's My Sandwich Now: because let's face it, Balthazar ate that sandwich.
That's Not How I Remember It: My short stint into Sailor Moon World and it looks like Serena and the others are just as freaked out by the TV show as my sister and I were at first...
In Other Words: Slayers one shot! Yes! Love them so much. Basically came out of my desire for Lina and Gourry to get it together! How you ask? One word: Cake.
When Time Stops, Life Moves Forward: Because Zelgadis and Amelia need to get their act together too.
The Adventures of Calcifer and Gir: What happens when you put two loonies together in one story? This! I really should write more of these. They just add up to such explosive fun! :D
...Hmmm...that's still an awful lot of oneshots. Need more multi-chapters! Let's see if I'm up for the challenge. Ha ha ha!
Other than that I'm quite pleased if anyone managed to read down to the bottom. n.n Hope to hear from you soon. And don't forget, these are for fun. Enjoy them.
Thanks for dropping by!
*Note for The Adventures of Calcifer and Gir*
Invader Zim (or ZIM) for those who want to know, is a TV series about a fairly stupid alien named Zim coming to Earth with his defective robot Gir. He has been sent to Earth by the Tallest (his leaders) because he is such a bad invader that they want to get him out of the way for the rest of their invasion. The problem is that he's deranged enough to think he has the most important job in the armada and he keeps trying to take over the Earth and while he always fails he still makes trouble for the Tallest and all the other Irkans out there. It's a totally ridiculous show, but it can be very funny. And yes I like Gir, a lot, even though his head is honestly only filled with a bouncy ball, a jack or two, and some paper clips.
*Another Note but regarding my very favorite movie of all time instead*
I watched Sorcerer's Apprentice the other day and it was great! I absolutely loved it! So much so that now I have to write some stories about it. :) I highly recommend you all see it since it was not only really cool but very funny (something I didn't quite expect when I picked it up at the red box). Apparently alot of people didn't like it. Weirdos the lot of them. It was amazing. I'm really hoping that despite the naysayers Disney'll make another one. I want to know more, especially about the things in Balthazar's shop and Veronica (so important to the story line but we get to know almost nothing about her. Aww!) But anyway it's great, go buy it. Oh! And read my sandwich story! ;D
*A Note posted on the 10nth of October, 2011, regarding something cool I learned in Latin class that amazingly enough dealt with Transformers*
You may find it interesting to know that Latin is actually increasing my knowledge of TF.
Who knew huh?
I can hear the question marks coming from you guys, but it's still true. Mostly it's in the names. Optimus Prime, for instance, is entirely Latin. It doesen't make nearly any sense when you translate it though because it comes out to something like Bonus First (First Bonus? I know not.) Although now that I think about it, maybe this just shows how excited Cybertronians were to be under new management. Yeah, he was the first bonus they had had in a while. That could make sense. Right? Maybe. Ah man I don't know. Latin is all Greek to me anyhow.
He he. That was sort of funny. ;3
And then there's Pax which means peace. Congratulations HikariScath, you were right. But it turns out it's a certain kind of peace. It is the 'not-war' kind of peace, which makes sense since Orion Pax is only called that before the war, as opposed to the word Otium, which is the 'not-work' peace or, as my Prof. likes to call it; sitting around time. As in, 'whatcha doin' today?' 'Not workin', so just sittin' around'.
And then there's the reason I started this in the first place; Elita. I looked in both my textbook and my Latin dictionary but at first I couldn't find it. So I Googled it and it turns out that the word elite comes from the Latin word eligo, eligere which literally means to be plucked (which makes a certain kind of sense to me when I think about how fate seems to be fairly deeply involved in the TF world) but it can also mean chosen. So if you want to get technical, Ariel's future name, Elita-1, means 'Chosen one'. (Or possibly 'the plucked one' but I think that sounds too much like a chicken about to be eaten, so we'll not go there right now) I thought it was kind of neat, like she's got a part to play in this destiny after all, more then the original series lets on anyway. And I plan to write it that way. Somehow...
Anyway, I thought it was pretty interesting. There I was, just sitting in class, trying to wake up enough for the quiz I knew was coming and, bam, he brings up Pax and Otium. It was cool. XD
*Announcements, Announcements, Annououncements!* 12/17/2011
Ahem, I have started a blog!
Yeah, so that's not real big news to most people, but well, I wanted to give it a shot. Show off my artwork, ramble on about things that enter my head, snippets of stories that refuse to leave me alone, ya know, odd stuff like that that I don't always remember to tell other people because in the real word I am a naturally introverted person. So yay for creative outlets! n_n;
Yes, so it's not much now, but you know, a few pictures, a couple story ideas, and pictures of my favorite art projects later (because I am an art major, if you didn't know already) and it might become something sweet. :)
Also, since I'm trying to challenge myself -- like updating my TF story, I Lost A World!, once a week so that I didn't just let it fall to the wayside like most of my others -- I am also going to post at least once a week.
I just hope it works...
Oh! Address link! Duh... The blog is called Rose's Thoughts and the url is. Go see what you think. Or you can just see what I'm thinking. ;)
