A Few Details About Me... If You're Interested
Name: Jaideum, or Jaid works best
Religion:Christian, God is my Lord and Savior!
My Life:I'm very organized in the real life and I prefer everything to be in its place. This tends to drive my father up a few walls since he is the polar opposite. My closest friend is my mother, who is also the strongest woman I know. She, alongside my grandmother (May you rest in piece Ouma), have shaped me into the person I am today... I hope I've done them proud. I'm currently studying for a degree in psychology, and if the good Lord allows it, I would love to work with children in the future. At the moment though, I'm a P.A., which, if Sam Winchester from Supernatural is to be believed, is some kind of slave. This doesn't really bother me though, because I kind of like the idea of making someone else's life a bit easier. As for my major organization needs, they end when it comes to photography and clothes. In those areas I'm strange and spontaneous. I love things that are different and I'm not afraid to admit that, although I am a complete nerd, that any shop that sells clothes is a sure way to decrease my budget.
The Harry Potter Series, JK Rowling- This one has to be mentioned first because it is what got me into reading.
The Book Of Lost Things, John Connelly - If you haven't read this man's work, you're missing out on life. The Book Of Lost Things is a transition into adulthood and I would encourage any person to read it.
Torey Hayden Books, - These books are non-fiction and they cover subjects that isn't everyone's cup of tea, but the work this woman has done with children is extraordinary and she has inspired me.
The Book Thief, Markus Zusak - A very different take on the Second World War, it focuses on one small girl as she is seen through the eyes of Death himself.
The Terry Pratchett Books - This man should have a list all of his own. His writing is unique, with a sense of humor that must be heaven sent.
Photography – This is a hobby I’m absolutely in love with. If you’re at all interested in this part of my life, it would be wonderful if you took the time to scoot over to my photography blog. The link can be found at the very top of this page.
TV Series – I have to admit, I get a tad obsessed with television series at times, my top five series have to be:
Supernatural – Two brothers, a lot of mythology and the lesson that nothing is more important than family…. What’s not to love?
Merlin – Magic and a hero that is a bit unusual. I fell in love with this series, and so did my mother. It was fun having something to bond over with her.
Pushing Daisies – This show ended way too soon. I loved the quirkiness and uniqueness of this series.
CSI – It’s been there for a long time, but my dad and I watch it together and you've got to give them credit for a few strange murder scenes.
Once Upon A Time – I’m a sucker for the retelling of old fairy tales.
Writing – I enjoy writing stories that are well thought out and plausible. I always try to bring a new element to my writing, and I hope I’ve succeeded in doing something that hasn’t been seen before. I always appreciate constructive criticism as my aim is to improve my writing. If you read my stories, please leave a comment and let me know whether it was worth it.
