My Interests: Reading: There is no specific genre preference. If the story is there, and if it is truly worth reading, I'll give it a chance. At the moment the top five for me would be: The Harry Potter Series, JK Rowling- This one has to be mentioned first because it is what got me into reading. The Book Of Lost Things, John Connelly - If you haven't read this man's work, you're missing out on life. The Book Of Lost Things is a transition into adulthood and I would encourage any person to read it. Torey Hayden Books, - These books are non-fiction and they cover subjects that isn't everyone's cup of tea, but the work this woman has done with children is extraordinary and she has inspired me. The Book Thief, Markus Zusak - A very different take on the Second World War, it focuses on one small girl as she is seen through the eyes of Death himself. The Terry Pratchett Books - This man should have a list all of his own. His writing is unique, with a sense of humor that must be heaven sent. Photography – This is more of a hobby, and although I love it, I do not excel at it. TV Series – I tend to immerse myself in a series, so favorites may vary from time to time. At the moment though: Supernatural – Two brothers, a lot of mythology and the lesson that nothing is more important than family…. Though I prefer the earlier seasons, as the new ones have become repetitive in many ways. Merlin – Magic and a hero that is a bit unusual. I fell in love with this series, and so did my mother. It was fun having something to bond over with her. Pushing Daisies – This show ended way too soon. I loved the quirkiness and uniqueness of this series. Sherlock – Masterfully crafted and a great blend of everything needed in a show. Once Upon A Time – I’m a sucker for the retelling of old fairy tales. Podcasts - We do not get a lot of innovative radio shows around here, so these have replaced radio for me: Welcome To Night Vale: A small desert community where the sun is hot, the moon is beautiful, and strange lights pass overhead while we all pretend to sleep. Serial: A brilliant journalistic investigation of a crime that didn't quite make sense. Sayer: Step into the shoes of an employee at AErolith Dynamics on Earth's second moon, Typhon. Writing – I enjoy writing stories that are well thought out and plausible. I always try to bring a new element to my writing, and I hope I've succeeded in doing something that hasn't been seen before. I always appreciate constructive criticism as my aim is to improve my writing. If you read my stories, please leave a comment and let me know whether it was worth it. “For in every adult there dwells the child that was, and in every child there lies the adult that will be.” |
