Update, August 2014: A Beautiful World has been posted! I've worked on that on and off, it's the back-story to a short story that is just an idea right now, set directly after the Battle of Hogwarts in DH, but it works as a stand-alone piece as well. The next story to get an update, in any case, will be the The French Affair. I've got about 15,000 words of the next chapter written, and one more scene is still missing. The WIP is posted at DLP (see below). As for the other stories: None is exactly abandoned, but in want of infinite time, the order of preference while I write is TFA, Flawed Perfection, BTLCL, Sister, Mine. (Though I might decide to finish off that next chapter of BTLCL, since it's around halfway done.) You'll find me at DLP (Dark Lord Potter), where I'm a Moderator. The community is all about quality fanfiction and helping aspiring authors. The verdicts can be pretty harsh, but I find the honesty that is used to judge my work very refreshing: You won't find misguided praise here when none is justified. We have a number of well-known authors as members -- joe6991, Taure, Perspicacity, MattSilver, Swimdraconian, pureb99/The Santi, to name just as few. All my stories will be posted there first. Estimated Length: 24 chapters & Epilog – 250,000 words Eragon Regarding Eragon, I have an Eragon/Arya-C2, where I hope I'll get round addding a few new stories these days, and a shiny new Eragon-Fanfiction called Flawed Perfection. It's actually my first-ever story in English, but I think it shouldn't be too bad. I just recently added Flawed Perfection on Shur'tugal, where it was voted as Featured Fiction. I also got my new Beta, Social Bunny from there. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book, Brisingr, and I believe (to answer that question straight away) that it will be Arya with whom Eragon will get together in the end (or hopefully, sooner). I could list you a hundred reasons why that is the only thing that makes sense, but I'll go with the most obvious: we're at least halfway through the series. Any other suitable character would have to be a new one, to be introduced in the third book, and Eragon would have to get over Arya and develop new feelings - and for that, there's simply not enough story left to tell. So it's either Arya or no one. About Flawed Perfection: What is her drive? What pushed her to become that near-perfect fighter, which even with elfin abilities must have taken countless years of training? What was it, that made her go against the wishes of her mother and queen? What forces her to be always so completely in control, of the events and herself, more than any elf we’ve met? I tried to answer these questions, and to give reasonable explanations of her character and her behaviour, and in the end, I decided to write a story about it – I let Eragon ask those very questions, after he realized that, in order to get closer to her, he had to understand her; and so we will be discovering, along with him, Arya’s past bit by bit; and delve into the contradictory nature of her, that he will come to love. And so, this is the tale of a love against all odds, a strange, imperfect love, so very un-elfin like, and ideal by no means... just as both of them are not perfect, but flawed. It is something, that by any logical reasons shouldn't have the right to exist; and yet it does, and their love may just prove to be strong enough to weather all storms. That will be the main focus of the story, although it, obviously, will have a real plot – after all, Alagaësia doesn’t wait for Eragon to understand Arya, there is an evil tyrant, who couldn’t care less about that. Eragon has many promises to fulfil – Elva, Katrina, the return to the elves… all that will be there. I’ll throw in a twist or two, and at times the story might be quite sad. We’ll see how far I take things. I hope you’re with me? The link is below...
