I don't understand. At what point did practically half this year disappear? The revision process marches on. Sigh.
I am at peace with the idea I will not get The Lambs finished by December 21. I am, however, going to have a fairly good crack at getting to the end of Part II. I hope to deliver a dramatic ending on or around Christmas so stay tuned.
Draft 2012 has started. I needed some way to stay connected to The Lambs while I sort some RL logistical issues out. I've been itching (ugh) to revise it for years so this seemed the ideal opportunity. Going through the early chapters has been a valuable (but not unexpected) lesson in humility: so many typos, so many poorly written sentences, so much waffle, the odd continuity error ... Draft 2012 won't be the final draft - but it should make the story much tighter.
Much of the lion's share of the revision work on Part I has been done; now it's about fine-tuning (and fixing some of the mistakes that crept in during the revision process ... grr).

Things I'm looking forward to in 2012:
x finishing the first draft of The Lambs
Things I miss already from 2011:
x my bunny
(Yes, yes, I'm aware how ridiculous this sounds. But I'd be lying to myself if I didn't mention him. If you haven't already, I hope one day you experience the joy and exuberance of a house bunny.)
Things I don't miss from 2011:
I don't read as much these days because I don't have the same amount of time that I used to )-: but I have a list of stories I intend to read once I've finished my own colonization fic.
I can't read them just yet, but if you do, I hope you're moved to let the authors know what you thought :-)
I should also make mention of BeshterAngelus's Seasons series. I've watched it progress on this site from Season 1 to Season 7 (so far) and can only look on in astonishment at BA's commitment and attention to detail. I've never seen a fanfic writer sustain a series so well—but to see one that is also beautifully and carefully crafted makes it a rare gem in a fandom that is full of excellent offerings.
If not watching The X-Files, I might be enjoying episodes of Glee, House, Boston Legal, Bones, 24, Buffy or Firefly among other shows. I'm also a Singstar fiend. I am usually - literally - the last person standing after a night of karaoke.
I welcome feedback and PMs. If you see something in this profile and want to ask about it, ask away.
About my stories
I have two reasonably ambitious works in progress. It's probably not ideal but, shoganai, I've started so I might as well attempt to continue.
Stars is a relatively basic homage to all those things people love to hate about fanfic ... (Mary-Sues, time-travel, crappy songfics, etc).
I'm deluding myself but I don't think it's too badly written. Actually I am deluding myself because it needs a lot of revision – but I still love the story concept.
I've neglected Stars while I concentrate on Lambs. Stars will get finished. If you started reading before I posted the warning, I'm sorry. Because of my general slowness and desire to finish The Lambs before December 25, 2012, I've had to move Stars back. And if you want to complain, feel free. :-)
With The Lambs I have deliberately tried to challenge one aspect of much fanfic that deals with William/Scully/Mulder reunification storylines. My take on the adoption storyline is that Scully gave William up to have a better life. The greatest gift any fanfic writer can give Scully is William having a great childhood – however that happens.
