Author has written 19 stories for Sherlock, Sherlock Holmes, Better Call Saul, and Avengers. Hello everyone, I am an English Lecturer at a university in Puerto Rico. I began my incursions into the world of writing fanfiction six years ago, although I barely have time for it nowadays. I have always loved fanfiction and have been firmly addicted to it for the last sixteen years or so. My favorites are Harry Potter (although I haven't read many in the last few years), Hogan's Heroes, Stargate and Star Trek. My latest addiction is Sherlock (BBC) and the original ACD books. My favorite genre is hurt/comfort, so most of the stories I publish will likely feature angst, whump, or other such elements. I don't publish often anymore, because I have very little time, but if you like my stories, do follow! I'm sure t write something new one of these days! Old updates from back when I was still a PhD student (oh, how time flies!!) [March 16th 2012 Update] I didn't realize how incredibly addicting writing fanfiction is. It's almost as addicting as reading it! Back when I started in January I never expected I would someday have six stories published, with over 60,000 words between them, and with over 11,000 hits! Thus far I've only written for Sherlock, and until I get over my current fixation, I'm unlikely to cross into any other fandoms. For those who have asked whether there will be a continuation to 'Help', all I can say is that it is unlikely. I'd like to write a followup oneshot, but I'm afraid I don't have many ideas for it. Only time will tell. Also, in case anyone asks, I don't write slash; the closest thing to it it'll get is 'Too Much Comfort', and it's really not. I don't have anything against reading it, but I won't write it. Having finished 'What Binds Us Together', by far the longest piece of writing I have ever written (and that's counting my MA dissertation), I doubt I'll venture into any more longfics for a while. That said, I'll probably revisit the 'What Binds Us' universe for holiday oneshots and the like, as well as write any other oneshots the plot bunnies throw at me. Like I said, this is highly addictive. [April 3rd 2012 Update] Still addicted, although experiencing a momentary lull (depression is such a hassle to get through), which means it might be a while before I publish something else. Still three fics since the previous update is not bad. I have a couple of ideas on the back burner, but only time will tell. [June 7th 2012 Update] Whoo! Five stories since last update! There are still a few stories I'm working on, and maybe a couple more I have in mind, but it might be a while since I'm able to publish any of them. Summer is going to be busy with a conference paper, a book review to write and a thesis chapter to work on. I haven't forgotten you all, but I will be giving the plot bunnies ritalin to calm them down while I work on the academic stuff. [February 16th 2013 Update] I haven't written any new stories in almost half a year! Academic research is destroying my creativity, but I have a new story hopefully in the works - with an outline and ideas already plotted - now I just have to write it (in between two conference papers, a book review, the thesis, and teaching; how do people do it?). I haven't forgotten fanfiction though! Everyone who reviews should know how happy they make me! As always, thank you for your support. Cheers! AR Also, thanks to everyone who has reviewed/favorited one of my stories. Puts me right over the moon. |
