...I'm AW, and well...(you aren't getting my personal information) some likes/dislikes of mine:
Fav. Pairings: Naruto: Sasodei (either with Deidara as a boy or girl, I can't stand the death fics either), GaaSaku, Itadei, Deisaku, SasuHina, Kopei; Prince of Tennis: FujiRyo, RyoOC; Little Queen: SejuruXJune.
SasoDei is my OTP, I usually have to read at least one a day or something...that's kinda sad...I'm really obsessed with it. Also, if I can't find one, I get kinda depressed. TT.TT I really need SasoDei...
Hated Pairings: Deisaso (I can't stand it, guess i've read too many Sasodei) , InoSaku or any yuri, SasoSaku, DeiTobi, MostpeopleOC, TezuRyo, MomoRyo, EijiRyo, RyoKaru, any incest
Weird Pairings (at least in my opinion): OrochiDei, Kidei, Peidei, RyoTomo, ShikaDei(even through i think i like the pairing, the only one i know about isn't finished and doesn't really have any yaoi in it so far)
Things I write: Kopei (through I can't stand to read it, I adore writing it), and Sasodei. SasorixKonan, too (why is it fun to write emotionless/stoic people in love?). Also, crack pairings are fun to write too. I love thinking of them, and how to write them. :)
Little Queen-manwha (I absolute love this! XD, the artwork is so beautiful and amazing, not to mention it's hilarious while it's also serious. Seriously, if you're looking for a good manwha that can make you laugh while also keep you wondering what's going to happen next and what's going on, read this. It's currently my favorite, I just love everything about it! The words are almost poetry, and the plot is really deep.)
Nabi, the Prototype- by the same author as Little Queen, Yeon-Joo Kim. It's a collection of oneshots but they're all amazing...
Prince of Tennis-manga
Fruits Basket-manga (I've lost a lot of interest in this, I used to love it, now I only like it)
Princess Ai- manga, i just started this, but so far I love it, :)
Gone With the Wind- the only classic I have read that I have liked. I had to force myself through the first few chapters, but it was worth it. Absolutely amazing, :)
Twilight Saga- got this book when it first came out, and I'm still a fan of it. Just not the movies.
Song of Ice and Fire- awesome series, and there's a lot of symbolisim-type stuff in it too, so it's cool.
The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel- I can't wait for the 4th one to come out, and I love fantasy stuff in it.
Yeon-Joo Kim- her stories are amazing. They have a certain substance to them that you don't usually find in manga w/o being overly optimistic (like True Love overcomes everything) and sometimes her works show a darker meaning that rings true. Her artwork is gorgeous, too.
Anne McCaffrey- Love her Dragonriders of Pern series, and I've read some of her Pettabee stuff, too.
George R. R. Martin- Song of Ice and Fire series is amazing. I love how he writes them, too.
Romeo & Juliet, A Seperate Peace, To Kill a Mockingbird, and The Old Man and the Sea- classics I was forced to read during my English class. I think my English teacher ruined R&J for me b/c of the way she translated it. If I read the rest of them later, I might like them. But I don't really like books I'm forced to read.
Most Manwha (just can't read it)
In Dream Land
Death Note (all of my favorite characters die in it T.T)
Naruto (same as w/ Death Note, and I hate Masashi Kishamoto's drawing style. The hair is so...blocky! I can't read anything if I dislike the art style. (Also, I want to punch Naruto whenever I see the anime. UGH!! Naruto and all them make me so mad!!))
I am a fan of the Akatsuki only. All of the other characters can crawl into a hole and die. Unless they didn't kill/help to kill an Akatsuki. Then I really don't care about them. But I truly wish they would all come back and kill off Naruto and Sasuke and everyone else and rule the world. Why can't, just once, the bad guys win? I mean, (in my opinion) the Akatsuki are awesome. And I even converted someone to the Akatsuki. She used to hate them, but now she loves them.
The Only TV Show I Actually Watch Now
NCIS- this show is awesome! I love Ziva, the assassin from Mossaud! Though I'm sad they killed off Jenny...It's awesome, I seriously recommend it (and I know a lot of people who go...Navy cops! No way! and shake their heads in shame, but seriously...it's good. It's one of the few shows that's 'Idol'-proof (meaning it can be put into the same slot as American Idol and not suffer from it)) And the characters aren't broken...like how they are in a lot of drama now, when the series walks the thin line between Drama and Soap Opera (Meredith Grey from Grey's Anatomy is kinda broken)
I used to watch CSI: Crime Scene Investigators; House, M.D; and Grey's Anatomy...but our DVR broke down so I haven't watched it in a while. T.T And CSI got rid of my favorite characters...
You can bash people in bashing fics all you want, but I don't like it when people bash them in regular stories. Like, in Naruto, I may hate Sakura, but I don't think Sakura's a bitch. When I started watching the series when it came out on Cartoon Network, she was my favorite character. Therefore, I really don't like it when people bash her. Even through I don't like her. And same with the other characters.
But I also can't stand people who bash any type of people, from the preps (I don't like them either, but it's just immature) to nurses/docters (i've seen people do it on this website).
First of all, I would like to say I have never flamed a story or been flamed. But I'm still entitled to an opinion, aren't I? (And I've read pretty bad stories too.)
I think flaming is an incredibly stupid way to get someone ticked off. You're not going to help someone write better if you verbally attack them. Think about it, how likely are you going to take advice when someone insults you about it? Chances are not too likely. We're humans, we like to get defensive. If someone attacks us, we want to defend. It doesn't matter how they're attacking us, our first instinct is to defend and attack the other person right back.
Now, according to this logic, isn't it pointless to flame someone in the first place? It's just going to start a circle of flames, and hey, no one wants to get in the crossfire.
You could should actually learn how to correct someone without sounding abusive or cocky. People who are given tips, instead of flames, will probably respond to it better.
Flaming for a specific couple? That's stupid too. If you don't like that couple, don't read it. If you don't like yaoi/slash, don't read it. If you don't like yuri/femslash, don't read it. If you don't like heterosexual couples, don't read it.
All you have to do, is either read who the characters are at the top (or the summary) and click the back button. It's not that hard, is it? It requires a lot less work then to do flames anyways.
On a side note, if you're looking for a good book to help you with your writing skills, I highly suggest How Fiction Works. I've learned a lot from it, and I'm not done yet, but I learned a lot from it that I never learned from school or anything else. They also give you examples, so it's really easy to see how something works. When I wrote after I read it, I found myself already getting better (even if it wasn't by much).
