TROUBLE FINDING A NEW CHAPTER: I've noticed that ff has a delay in their database. When I post a new chapter it doesn't appear in the main link for at least 30 minutes - despite the fact that it notifies people that there is a new chapter. With chapter 71 people are complaining that they are initially getting redirected to random fictions. There's an easy fix for all this -- go to a chapter that works. Look at the URL. In the address you will see a chapter number usually in the slash right before the chapter name. Change the number to the chapter you are looking for and hit 'enter'. This should take you directly to the chapter and bypass the odd navigational errors that ff has in their system.
I got enough emails asking me 'who are you?' that I thought I'd post a brief bio here. No, I'm not really a new author -- just new to Harry Potter. And I haven't really posted anything to the internet in a long while. Most of my stories have been based on the Sentinel fandom (you probably won't recognize the name -- it was an American cop show that ran for about 3 seasons a long time ago). I've also written one story in the Battlestar Galactica fandom (old series -- not new series), and one from the Yu Yu Hakusho Anime series. All of them are posted on my web site. I also have a document called "Things You Learn From Slash" which has been rather widely distrubuted on the internet. You'll find that on my web page as well.
And I guess that's not really true that I haven't posted anything to the internet in a long while -- a few months ago I posted 2 essays on my web site that are specific to the Harry Potter Fandom. One is on how to properly punctuate dialog (okay, it's rant, not an essay), and the other is on How to Spot A Mary Sue.
I've been madly in love with the world of Harry Potter for a while and have started a dozen stories in the fandom. 'The Marriage Stone' is the first one I've actually had the guts to post. I'm pleased it has gotten such a great reception.
I love the SS/HP dynamic but also read a great deal of HP/DM. I think Ron and Hermione belong together and I hate to see Sirius and Remus in separate rooms let alone separate relationships (they SOOO belong together).
The other thing I love to do is write the proverbial Cliche. I take my favorite (in this case 'Harry is forced to marry Snape') and try to come up with a new and original twist to it. I even have a Draco is a Veela story half finished. My biggest problem with my writing is that it never confines itself to something short and simple -- this "Harry is forced to marry Snape" story is currently at 135,000 words and still going. I'm trying to post it as I get each chapter edited for mistakes (I make a lot of them). So those of you who are reading, prepare for the long haul -- it will be a bit of a journey.
