Author has written 2 stories for Twilight, and Doctor Who.
Hello, my name is Snowy Ashes—well, not my real name, obviously, but you know what I mean—and really, the most important thing for you to know about me is that I really, really enjoy BBC’s Doctor Who. Which, of course, is fairly obvious from even a cursory glance at my list of favorite stories, but whatever.
I have only recently been introduced to the wonders of BBC America, but already I wish that we, too, had three, or four, or five, or twenty-seven (or HOWEVER many you lovely UK folks actually have!) channels of BBC goodness over here. But... nope. Just the one. :( Oh, well. Someday, perhaps…
WHAT I READ:
I follow the 11th Doctor/River Song pairing. However, I am beginning to explore others a bit more, so I suppose that could change at some point, but I suspect it probably won’t. I tend to stick with canon pairings—e.g., I also enjoy Rory/Amy, and have read a couple of 10/Rose—and generally just read those, apart from the occasional well-written one-shot/drabble.
All ratings are fair game, including smut—but only if it’s well-written, not too OOC, and is at least somewhat meaningful. Like… sometime. Somewhere. At least ONE LINE of it… ;)
WHAT I WRITE:
NOTE: PLEASE DISREGARD MY SINGLE STORY DOWN THERE! I wrote it a VERY long time ago, when I was not really old enough to make responsible decisions like NOT writing really crappy stories for school assignments. I mean, honestly, it’s not even a fan fiction. The only reason I originally posted it on this website was because it was basically a rip-off of the Twilight premise—person from somewhere else moves to small Washington town, meets mysterious, reclusive person, is intrigued, investigates, and finds out something— *GASP!*—unusual. I don’t actually even remember how it ended, and I also don’t remember if it was completely terrible or just generally very bad, and I’m not going to look. THE ONLY REASON I AM LEAVING IT UP IS FOR THE SAKE OF POSTERITY. Read it if you like, I suppose, but PLEASE do not go away with the impression that that story is actually representative of my current writing ability. I am a much better writer than what that story displays—that was written the year before, basically, I actually became decent—it’s just that, unfortunately, I haven’t really had time to write for pleasure in a really long time. :( Hopefully, I will someday soon, though—possibly this summer.
THE IMPORTANT STUFF!
I am fairly certain that, if you are here, you did NOT find me due to my luverly story down there. You have probably come across me because A) you know me and are being either a very caring friend or a little bit creepy/stalkerish (or possibly both, I suppose); B) you read a review I submitted, or I have PM-ed (?) you or otherwise contacted you in some way; or, C) (which I’m guessing is most likely) you have come here from my Doctor Who community, “Hello, Sweetie.”
So you probably don’t care about all of the stuff up top there. But it does say “Bio,” you know. So I put some stuff about me. If you are here from my community and are looking for more good stories, check out my favorite stories down there. :) There are several that are very good which I almost put into my community, but then remembered what my community is actually about. ;P I’m trying to only include fairly in-character stuff, and stuff that focuses on 11th Doctor/River (or at least has that ship in the foreground), but sometimes I read good stories that don’t meet either one or both of those criteria! So I can’t add them. :( But I can still love them! ;D
MY COMMUNITY: If you have not come here from my community, and you are interested in finding some good DW 11/River fiction, here’s the description (as of Dec. 29, 2011):
I am also open to having some staff on my community, if anyone is interested. The only qualification necessary is that you must be able to distinguish between stories you like and stories that you like AND that fit the criteria of the collection. Let me know if you are interested!
I was previously a big fan of James Patterson’s Maximum Ride series, and read a great deal of fanfiction in that category. I am no longer interested in that series, but it was good, and all of the stories and authors from that area of the site that I added to my favorites were put there for a reason, so I have not deleted them. If you have stumbled upon my profile from that section of the site and are looking for some quality, albeit very old, writing, just sort my favorites by category and scroll down past all the Doctor Who stuff. ;)
