Poll: Zuko and Lan Chi will be sixteen when they meet again, and things might get hot. Should I keep "The Spirit Within: Part Two: Spirit Born" rated "T" or should I be more descriptive and, therefore bump it up to "M?" Vote Now!
Author has written 5 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender, Young Justice, and Batman.
I am working on the second part of my Avatar: The Last Airbender fanfic of epic proportions featuring Zuko, Iroh, and other characters (as well as one of my own, natch!). I enjoy reading other quality ATLA fanfiction as well as ATLA & TLOK fan art, etc. I am also working on a Young Justice Nightwing x OC fic, as well as a Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess Link x OC fic (I love those OC's)!
To get myself in the MOOD for writing the semi-tragic love story between Zuko and Lan Chi, my OC, I have been listening to "Chasing Cars," by Snow Patrol (for the the characters' emotions), and "Sex on Fire," by Kings of Leon (for their other - er - feelings). And, of course, my new personal fave, "This Head I Hold," by Electric Guest. If you haven't heard it, check out their website and video. You will thank me!
I am also a HUGE fan of Johane Matte, an Avatar illustrator. She did a FABULOUS fan comic featuring Zhao (I know - crazy, right?) that made me think about Mr. Hothead a little differently. It can be found at the following link:
Read it! You won't be sorry! (By the way, there is an absolutely HOT picture of her version of adult Zuko at the end)
I also enjoy Blackadder, Young Justice, Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch's eyes TOTALLY creep me out - in a good way), Red Dwarf, and Justified, as well as Legend of Zelda, especially Twilight Princess.
P/M me if you have any questions about the tale, or if you find a mistake, anachronism, problem, etc. After all, two sets of eyes are better than one! You can also send me a P/M if you just want to chat about ATLA or such!
Thanks go out to animechick247 and jrba95 for their WONDERFUL fanart of my main character (and Zuko!) - check them both out on deviantart under those names. I am so lucky to have such great, TALENTED readers!!!
By the way, a note on my reviews: I am a dedicated reader and reviewer of fanfics. However, I will lay out some of the tenets that I live by as a reader and a reviewer. Firstly, I do not review a fic until I have read it all (or all that is available online). I feel that, to do so is to review something that is incomplete, and the review ends up being irrelevant and erroneous. Secondly, and most importantly, I will never post a negative review. If I find a problem with a fic, whether it be pacing or characterizations or typos or whatever, I will PM the author. I feel that to post a negative review is unkind and unnecessary. No one needs to have their creations, upon which they probably slaved for months, criticized in a PERMANENT, public forum. It does nothing for an author's self-esteem, and negativity and criticism only squelch the creative process, in my opinion. If you want to extend the same courtesy to me, I very much appreciate it. I always welcome constructive criticism (especially via PM), since it frequently helps me to correct a problem in my narrative that I did not know existed.
That's my two cents.
