Author has written 4 stories for Pokémon, Chocobo series, Suikoden, and Final Fantasy I-VI.
Welcome to my profile. The name's Zip, and I am a lazy writer until I get my ass in gear.
What I'm Up To:
Yeah, been long time since I last came back to this site. I have no intent on continuing majority of my stories, so for now they're all in limbo or just plain discontinued. Actually the only story I am willing to finish is Affliction, should time permit. Everybody Hates Dip is completely outta here, and I am deleting Unexpected Miracles and probably reposting it again some time in the future... If I ever come around to doing it anyway.
I dunno if it's a typical thing for people to do when they come back to read their old work, but when I read over my stories again, for some reason I just couldn't help reading over my ridiculous A/N's and my childish cries of NO FLAMES!, R&R OR ELSE! and what have you (I was around 13 back then and I was seriously full of myself -sigh-). To be honest I feel completely embarrassed at the kind of person I was back then. XD
All I can say is, that it's not something to be proud of, people. Don't be like who I was. It's not a good thing. Don't beg for reviews, don't cry NO FLAMES and tell everyone who does to fuck off (instead just check if they actually have substance in what they're saying), and don't write because reviews are your motivation. Don't suck up to people for the sake of them sympathizing with you and liking your story when it is, in fact, CRAP. That is total bullshit. Write because you love to do it. Don't get all fussed up over the number of reviews you have (especially if its something less than 1) and BAWWWW 'cause people don't like your story. That's reality, people, you can't expect everyone to love EVERYTHING you do, and it's not like you're a speshul snowflake in anyone else's book anyway. It took me a long time to learn this, but I learned, though I learned the hard way. Learning it the hard way always makes it stick. Trust me on this one.
So don't go cray cray and full of themselves like I've gone, kiddies!
Lastly, don't expect a lot of updates from me. I can't and don't want to guarantee anything because when I do, I don't come up with shit.
Writing Style and Preferences:
My preferred genre is romance. I like to pry into the insecurities of people on their roads to decent relationships, mostly because I used to be as horribly insecure as anyone else is when it comes to that (and just about anything else, unfortunately XD). As such my stories tend to be lengthy, mostly because I want to keep everything as detailed as possible for the sake of readers having a feel of what it's like in the characters' shoes. But I will be precise if I have to.
I'm not one for lots of conversation in my writing, though I will try. As I mentioned I am heavily focused on a lot of detail in my work. With Cleaving Destiny I want to take a shot at the action/adventure genre and see just how well I can go with it, as well as attempt to keep characters of FFVI from turning into different people altogether. And there's another thing I have a problem with, keeping people from going OOC. Thinking about it now, writing Affliction helps me delve deeper into the thought of what lesser known Starbearers like Nemne and the other Porpos-kin are possibly like besides what Suikoden Tierkreis has shown to players.
Also, I don't really review stories. Not anymore, anyway, mostly because I can't be bothered. But if I do, this time I'm not gonna beat around the bush, nor will I be just finicky about grammar.
Affliction (Suikoden Tierkreis) - Current Chapters: 6
The Porpos girl Nemne has a problem... She's taken a liking to her fellow warrior, the always-sleeping-except-when-he-was-hungry Nomno. What else is she worried about? This: People finding out, teasing her about it, the endless questioning done by people when they find out... And what's more, Nomno's too distracted to even take notice! Is she even sure that he feels the same towards her? There's also the problem her being unable to find out from him since he only spoke with snores... But Nemne's not the only one with relationship problems; we've got Nimni, and his hidden affection for the Porpos priestess Neira. Just how exactly will the relationships between these Porposes turn out?
Cleaving Destiny (Final Fantasy VI) - Current Chapters: 1 T_T
Well, everyone knows about the War of the Magi. Three deities had a fight which led to a war. They see their mistake and seal themselves soon after. But now there's a new threat: the Gestahlian Empire, who plan to take control of the Espers... And the world eventually, but Espers first, right? Well then... Who's gonna oppose 'em? The rebel faction called the Returners. Who else is involved? A seventeen year-old girl and her black chocobo who get caught in the crossfire. What will the two of them do? They're going to fight of course, and with that, the Second War of the Magi begins anew.
Everybody Hates Dip (Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance) - Current Chapters: 11 (Including Prologue)
This is the story of how Ivalice's most despised clan came to exist, all the trials they've suffered and encountered, their disbandment, and how they came back. At first it was total crap, but after seeing how bad it turned out to be the hard way, I decided to revise this fic and make it even better than the last one. It's done well during the time I spent on it, but now I'm shelving the whole thing completely. I can't be bothered with it anymore. I'm keeping it at the back of my mind where it shall stay for gods know how long.
Unexpected Miracles (Chocobo's Dungeon 2) - Current Chapters: 2 (Including Prologue)
Sequel to Not Even Time. Three years have passed since the events of that village Chocobo and Mog visited near the sea... And during that time, the pair have continued with their journey for treasure. However, a quest to a sea of near-endless trees in search for a mysterious power are what rekindles the bonds shared by Chocobo and Shiroma, as Chocobo meets a person who will most certainly change his life forever... This is to be reuploaded again at a later date, preferably after I've sorted out Chocobo's personality and find the nerve to keep writing.
Differences Don't Matter (Pokémon)
A story of how a certain someone feels about the one she loves. People have guessed who they are; how about you try it out and see if you'll get it right too! But we all know you're gonna check the reviews for a clue anyway.
Not Even Time (Chocobo's Dungeon 2)
As Chocobo traverses towards the peak at Snow Mountain, he finds what he is looking for: the white mage girl Shiroma. However, their meeting is short lived, as Shiroma tells him that she must leave. A look into the mind of Chocobo after the first battle against the Glass Goth, and his thoughts about Shiroma. WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
