Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter.
Welcome! After reading fics for some time, I decided to see what would happen if I tried to write one, not expecting much. It came out better than expected, considering I hadn't written any fiction since middle school, and now it's up here. I'm still working on them, but I write very slowly, so don't hold your breath.
I'm a huge fan of Hermione (and, to a lesser extent, Emma by transference) -- at least until her lobotomy and name change around book 5 or 6 (maybe that curse didn't heal so well after all?) I don't think that any of the Harry Potter characters are good enough for her, but Harry's by far the closest. I do, however, dislike how JKR ruined their relationship in the later books, so I mostly ignore everything after Goblet of Fire.
My fics are all different ways to adjust the past and bring about the Harry/Hermione relationship in different ways, since various levels of AU allow me to avoid all the illogical and inconsistent parts of canon.
My first, Post Owl Harry, was inspired by a Feb 2008 post -- yes, it's taken me over 2 years to write less then 5k words -- to the pottersplace3 Yahoo group by gatewae_wanderer. Sirius & James feed him an animagus potion when he's one, then before first year Harry involuntarily changes, and can't change back. He ends up as Hermione's familiar without her knowledge as he doesn't figure out how to change back for quite some time. If you like the idea, you might be interested in wsbenge's fic The Natural Animagus, if you can stomach Harry/Ginny.
The second I started, Blow Your House Down, is based on my annoyance that Harry never gets to visit his best friend over the holidays. It was formerly known as Harriet the Wizard, but was renamed when that title made people think it was a girl!Harry. Here, Harry meets Hermione on the train instead of Ron, then Susan and Hannah come in, resulting in them all going to Hufflepuff together. A few more clichés then come together to give what I think is a unique way of fixing the problem. I have a decent chunk written, but it needs more detail and content. DerLaCroix has given me a bunch of things to work on for that, so it might show up soon. Hermione's character is inspired at least in part by An Effortless Show of Segue Prowess.
Next was a combination of the Christmas season and my hope that everything was about to be fixed in Deathly Hallows after Ron left, before yet another deus ex machina showed up and ruined it. Since it would be so easy to fix it, I wrote a drabble about a possible way. Since I don't want to deal with all the baggage inherent in Half Blood Prince and beyond, I have no plans to elaborate or continue it. Who knows for sure, though, with the capriciousness of muses. If you like it, you'll probably also like broomstick flyer's Leave The Horcrux.
Some time in the future will eventually bring about my other planned fic, tentatively titled Night's Plutonian Shore, which, if you recognize the excerpt, will tell you it's a Ravenclaw!Harry. With a somewhat darker Harry, this one's inspired by many of my favourite fics, including ones by DarthBill, Masterius, SamStone, and TheObsidianWarlock.
Like an idea from one of my fics? Feel free to run with it. Just don't use the actual text from my stories without permission, and please let me know where I can read it. After all, I'm a fanfiction fan too. (Getting permission to directly use parts of my stories is quite plausible; Just ask. It's been done before.)
Personally I believe that fanfiction stories worth reading are transformative works allowed under fair dealing or similar clauses. Nevertheless, if you believe that the distribution of my stories infringes on your reserved rights, let me know and I'm sure we can amicably resolve any issues.
Most of the stories I read without recs can be found from this H/Hr Search I browse, which is just here so I have an easier way to get to it, especially on phones and such. Any stories I write will show up there.
