Stuff I dislike: Arrogance and ignorance. Politics when debates get out of hand and personal. Self-insert fanfiction(barring a few). Bad writing overall(nonsensical plot, mary/gary stu characters, atrocious grammar to the point where the author doesn't bother to use spellcheck).
Other interests: I have a very keen interest of military, aviation, and maritime history. Eighty percent of my library consists of books regarding the Second World War(notably the Pacific Theater). Other military works include the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879(which influenced one of my story ideas; it's first chapter to be published at a later date). The rest of my library consists of maritime disasters, ranging from the well known(Titanic; Lusitania) to the less(Wilhelm Gustloff, Eastland, Princess Sophia). There are a few aviation disasters, but some of them delve into conspiracy theories(KAL 007). It may seem dark to some, but I enjoy reading about these events, to remember them and the victims, and to sort out what is truth and what is fiction(conspiracies).
I do take a certain amount of pride in my writing. Unfortunately, I have a tendency to lose interest in one project and start on another. My amount of one to two chapter stories that lead nowhere. I know it is a pet peeve for some for writers not to finish what they start, and I do try my damndest to work on my projects. There are many reasons besides lack of interest that stifle my fan writing(work, job searching, writing of historical events that have been published in regional newspapers). Still, I will submit completed chapters to at least show other writers my ideas.
Note: This applies to only works about the Universal Century Gundam universe, but when I apply a name to a non-canon warship, I use the names of lost or famous ships of WWI and WWII. Allies for the Federation, Axis for Zeon. I'll include a brief bio for each ships namesake, but if the reviewer can figure it out on their own, more power to them.
AN: This concerns my current project "Dead of Harlech". Right now I have two OCs that make up much of the storys POV. One is an average Japanese Highschool student, I don't recall giving him much detail. It's up the reader to imagine what he looks like, though I do have some characteristics. The other is from Great Britain, and I gave him much greater detail. For those who are wondering about his uniform, I have a picture to illustrate what I'm describing. Hopefully the link will be enough. I do detest Mary Sues for OCs, and will do my utmost to give my characters moments of weakness, balancing their more positive attributes.
