![]() Author has written 12 stories for High Mountain Rangers, Jeremiah, Airwolf, Iron Man: Armored Adventures, Transformers, and MacGyver. Update: 2/7/17 Greetings! If you're reading this, thank you for taking an interest in me and my writing. For those of you that have been following my sporadic postings on a couple of my stories, thank you for being faithful. A lot has happened to me in the past few years. I've learned some hard lessons about who to trust with my 'time' and from early 2013 to July 2015, I became involved with a British themed fan convention and let the owner of said con dictate my time. My writing suffered, my home life suffered and my passion for gardening suffered. During this span of time, I also lost my job of 11 years and unfortunately took a job working for a lawyer that made me utterly miserable. Thankfully, I only worked there a year and I managed to find myself a good, solid job working for the local County. While away at Christmas 2015, a toilet failed in my house, upstairs (of course) and came home to find water pouring out of our dining room ceiling of our 115 year old house. It took 4 months of living out of a hotel and later an apartment before we could move back into our house. Then it was the task of unpacking all our junk that had gotten boxed up and dumped in our garage. It affected my writing, my emotional state and was draining. But, I'm glad to say, 2017 is looking up and I'm finding the desire to write again, to dream again and be myself again. For those of you that have never read my stuff, I am a shy writer. I know that I will never write award winning stories or become a famous author. I write for myself and if others enjoy what I write, then all the better. How can you be a shy writer, one might ask. Well, its called having a flash drive full of stories and the inability to force myself to let others read what I've done. On a whim I put out a story that I've yet to even be able to finish, I'm sure much to the shigrin and dismay of those that set it as a 'favorite'. See, I have this one other problem, one that keeps my stories sometimes from advancing farther than they have. I'm an optimist and a romantic of sorts. I have problems writing a story from a bad guy's point of view. Sometimes I can write in those 'shades of gray' but yet it's very hard for me to write a bad guy that is more than just a 'holding spot' until I can get the courage up to try and write something from the standpoint of being 'evil and malicious'. As I read other peoples stories, I find that I have a different writing style than most. I'm very narrative and in a way, I ramble on about details that perhaps most people could care less about. But for me, some of the things I write about tend to add flavor, add color and background, to make a setting more imaginable, more life-like with small details here and there. (much like this profile) I do have 'conversations' between characters but at times, conversations are summarized with feelings or general content and then the story moves on. Some people might like it, others may not. I'm a child of the 70's & 80's for the most part. I grew up on MacGyver, Airwolf, Misfits of Science, StreetHawke, Knight Rider, High Mountain Rangers and the likes. High tech toys and handsome men (some of whom are as old as my dad -shudder-) But I also like good action adventure movies, TV shows and books. I like the SG1 and SGA series, Firefly, Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Serenity, Jason Bourne Series, Riddick Series, Transformers, TMNT and am currently reading the Harry Dresden and Iron Druid series of books. But I also love romances such as Under the Tuscan Sun, A Good Year, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Sense and Sensibility, Quiet Man and White Christmas. So to those who are just seeing my stuff for the first time to those who have hung on and prayed for updates, thank you for your faith and support. It is greatly appreciated! |
