I'm an Old Bat (DoB: 12/14/1948) who likes cats, crocheting, knitting, messing around with 3D imagery (DAZStudio FTW!), and reading. So far, in the manga genre, I like Ranma 1/2, Full Metal Panic and Neon Genesis Evangelion. In the fanfic area, well, I'll read most anything. :chuckles: A lot of the crossovers are quite interesting as well.
Being an ex-secretary, nothing turns me off of a story quicker than something poorly written. No matter how interesting the premise of the story, poor spelling, incorrect word usage (there for their, your for you're, etc) will have me exiting the story quicker than you can spit. With all the spell checkers and grammar checkers out there, as well as beta readers, there is no reason whatsoever to submit junk. One proofreading tip: read what you've written backwards, from the bottom up. That helps.
I've not yet written anything for here, however I think I will. Soon, hopefully. I've two ideas that keeps cheeping in my mind like just-hatched chicks. I'm also waiting for my muses to kick-start my brain.
FYI: Contrary to "popular" opinions, there are some wrinkly old ladies who DO watch anime. They also read manga. :pulls down eyelid and sticks out tongue: Biii-DAH!
05/22/2013: Feh. Fickle muses won't let me write. Notes for the stories, yes. Actually sitting down and putting those notes into stories? No. *shakes head* I say "silly muses" and my muses say "silly mun-type person" right back. And grin about it! *sighs* Still alive, though. *chuckles* Still working on my stories. I guess I'll just surprise folks, as well as myself, on when to post. Some fanfic authors here say to finish the entire story first. Others say write five to ten chapters and then post one at a time while working. Still others say write and then post. Talk about confusing this Old Bat! No Fair! :)
02/24/2014: Things have been... difficult since I last posted. Depression sucks like the jet engine. Mine sucked like several jets' worth of engines. Or so it seemed. Things are slowly getting better, though. Slowly. I have an entire fleet of ships' worth of fanfic stories here to catch up on. Sorry 'bout that. I'll get to them. I promise.
