The Isle of Berk had never been nice for Hiccup. Being smaller than other Vikings meant that he never really have a place in the village. After his first day as blacksmith gone wrong, he ran off and found something that changed him forever. Literally. (AU: In which Hiccup became a dragon by becoming one with the certain Night Fury)

After receiving a strange new book from Trader Johann Hiccup finds himself encountering something that isn't human, nor dragon, that bestows upon him something one would consider a gift...that also is a curse.

The dragons have fled for the Hidden World, but distrust remains, eroding dragon-human relationships to pre-contact levels. Hiccup and Toothless try to enforce peaceful isolation, only to be attacked by their own kinds as fear spreads. So, since I started writing, I have been getting a few requests for stories that I liked, so I'm making this as a way to write the stories that you, my fans have been requesting, and hopefully make your story a reality. With the Night Furies gathered behind him, Hiccup has to return to Berk. But while the Viking tries to keep a hold on these new once-wild beasts, Berk, blinded by recent tragedy, is hunting them down like animals. Searching for vengeance and a form of justice, Stoick has ordered all Night Furies to be hunted and killed, and for Hiccup and Astrid to be found: at ANY cost.

When Hiccup thought it was all over, Night Furies start to attack Berk in revenge for what he and Toothless had both done to them. It is up to Hiccup and Toothless once more to save Berk before it is too late. Before all of Berk is destroyed. A strange ally is found, and Hiccup realizes that with her help, they could solve everything. But the thought might just come too late.

The past has a habit of coming back up. It has the habit of growing in size and in importance, and cloud whatever is here in the present. It has the habit of destroying everything. Hiccup thought that when he brought the female Night Fury back to Berk, the present would only get better. He thought things would be perfect. He hadn't realized he was making a horrible mistake. (Book One) A quest goes horribly wrong, and Hiccup is nearly killed. Toothless saves his life, and in doing so changes both their lives forever. The duo escape a cruel fate, but it's a case of out of the frying pan, into the fire. They are found by none other than members of Toothless' former pack, and now Hiccup must prove himself to the distrusting, human hostile dragons.

Toothless is wounded in a storm long before the events of the movie and a young Hiccup stumbles upon him in the cove off Raven's Point. They quickly bond, learning to trust each other and becoming fast friends. AU
