Simple Things is done and so am I.

There’s a saying about not being able to go home again. I know it’s true from real life events so I’m not sure why I thought online might be different. (Foolish optimistic streak I guess.) Fandom has changed, the characters have changed and with those changes, the stark reality of their situation is no longer quite so grim - they are no longer practically guaranteed unhappy endings. Achingly beautiful angst sprinkled liberally with citrus culminating in tragic endings is no longer de rigueur. As such, my happy little fluff-filled niche is no longer needed - hasn’t been for a long time. (If it was ever needed in the first place - debatable I suppose.) Now that Simple Things is finally complete I can move on with my life. And, I will.

Thank you to anyone who stuck through it with me to the very end.

Simple Things is finally done. I'm now trying to decide what's next.

Just a little update for anyone checking here. I know moderndayportia recently posted that Simple Things will soon be finished – she’s correct and in a position to know.

The last chapter of Simple Things is still at the beta (sadly not Portia this time around.) It’s hovering around 24k and 55 pages so it’s no wonder it’s taking a while. Right now she is almost done with her second read through and then I think I might be able to go in and get to the edits unless she wants to do a third run through (which is possible.) Regardless, there are LOTS of edits to be done so that will definitely take time as well. I have a firm deadline of wanting this done by the end of the year with a soft deadline of wanting it done before the end of the fall (with a mental deadline of wanting to get it done ASAP.) We’ll have to wait and see how it goes.

Heya. I'm not much of one to write about myself. Nothing much to say really. That's probably because I'm a fairly boring person leading a fairly boring life ;) I've never really been much of a writer, but I like to think that at the very least I can come up with interesting plots. Guess I'd probably make a better collaborator or alpha than an actual writer... :facepalm:

Currently, I am not working on any projects at this time. I am re-evaluating my WIPs and trying to decide if I'll continue to write fanfic or move on.
