To ring in the new year, I've got a few announcements for you all...
...I've got a l o t of work to do, my ducks. :)
I still prefer to be called amv or j-chan.
The Rules and Guidelines for Amv:
1) I do not write lemons or mini-lemons. Not my forte.
2) I double- and triple-check my proofreading jobs. But if you happen to notice a n y mistakes, please tell me.
3) I take FOREVER to update my stories. My computer time is v e r y limited.
Information About my Harry Potter Fic
Name: Shades of Gray
Pairing: DracoxHermione, maybe minor HarryxGinny?
Where I came up with this: Funny story, really. I went to the movies to see Deathly Hallows with my friend (which was AMAZING, btw) and was super happy about the cute RonxHermione moments. To celebrate, I went home and read DracoxHermione fanfics (for real, hence the funny story). Now I love the couple as much as HxG and RxHr.
Summary: An alternate plot for the 6th book.
Please vote! I actually am super-psyched for this!
As stated earlier, I have lots to do-- this is my New Year's Resolution as it relates to Fanfiction. (Because I have one for Home, School, and Swimming.)
Resolution Number One: I am going to write whenever I go on the computer. Because, really, I don't have much else to do. I read the same fics over and over because I haven't found any REALLY awesome ones in a long time, and no one talks to me on Facebook. Besides, I miss this. I miss all of the sweet reviews I recieve (they make me cry, honestly) and the sense of pride I feel when I put up another chapter.
Resolution Number Two: I will proofread my stories to perfection. -smile- I get annoyed when I review my work and see that I mispelled something or forgot to indent or put a space between words. It's my little OCD.
Resolution Number Three: I will put up my stories in this order: Perfect Chemistry, Broken Reflection, Bachelorette BFFs, and the Circle of Love mini-series. The fics Band Tour and Brokenheartsville II are being placed on the back burner, for the moment. Lastly, The Poke Wars: The Beginning is going to be re-written.
As you have seen, I have a lot of work to do. So now I ask: Do I have to do it alone? Will I have you, my friends, here rooting for me? You're the reason I'm doing this. Because, three years after joining this site, I still cry when I get a kind review. All in this together, right? Let's blow this popsicle stand!!
A Preview of My Future Works:
The genial teacher clapped a frozen May on the shoulder. "Miss Maple will be working with you today!"
Drew stared uncomprehendingly at him. "Sorry?"
"Didn't you hear? I'm working with you," May said with forced enthusiasm as she took her notebook to his desk, dragging a chair up beside his.
"Yippee," Drew muttered sacastically. May ignored him, scribbling down notes about the Catholic Church in the Renaissance era. But, just as she was about to write down a defentition, Drew tried to turn the page.
"No, wait, wait!" May cried.
"Hurry up, you've got three seconds..."
"I said wait," May snapped, her hand closing over his as he tried to turn the page.
What neither of them was prepared for was the electricity-like jolt that rocketed up their hands and into their arms. They looked straight at each other for a few moments, then looked in oppositte directions.
Drew held out his arm to May. "Grab me."
"G-gomen?" May repeated, full of forboding.
"Grab me, Max-kun," Drew repeated patiently. "The soldiers are waiting. Grab me as fast and hard as you can."
"Hai," May mumbled. She bit her lip and lunged towards him.
In a move so fast May hardly knew what was happening, Drew snatched her arm. He twisted it, and flames of pain rocketed up her arm. With a gasp of agony and shock, May dropped to her knees, Drew stooping with her. The men surrounding them were either laughing at May's obvious pain or were watching in mute horror.
Drew relieved the pressure and stood up tall again. "This move is called Nikkyo-- painful nerve pressure to the arm. As you saw, it easily takes on any enemy, no matter how fast or powerfully thay come at you." He looked down at May. "Stand, Max-kun. We'll do it again."...
Drew twisted her arm. May instinctively flinched, but no pain came. She opened her eyes and saw that Drew was gently twisting her wrist, studying the white bandages that wrapped around her right hand. His emerald eyes studied the loose wrapping, the thin red lines that criss-crossed along her fingers. The lines were redder than usual from the exertion of their Nikkyo practice.
"What did you do to yourself?" He asked, "I've never seen wounds like these before."
"...Had an accident," May said, avoiding his eye. She didn't think it was an advisable idea to inform her general that she recieved her injuries from punching a mirror.
Drew slowly, deliberately turned to his blond friend. Jack's face under his bangs had paled to the color of vanilla ice cream, and he swallowed, his adam's apple bobbing nervously up and down. Harley was looking between the two, twisting his scarf between his hands anxiously.
"Jack," Drew's voice was ominously soft. "I know they're not refferring to this Drew Maxwell and Jack Smith of Ellicott City to be in La Rousse next week." Jack was silent. "Right?"
"Um...Well...I-I just..." Jack stammered before blurting, "It- It was for your own good! You haven't had a girlfirend since sophmore year of college! You need some love in your life besides your mother at age twenty-four!"
"I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT'S GOOD FOR ME!" Drew yelled, grabbing the neck of his beer bottle and leaping up. Jack just managed to leap out of the squashy armchair before Drew reached him. He ducked under another swing and cried:
"Drew, don't you think you're overreacting? Just a bit?"
"No, I don't!" Drew retorted, swinging round again. "I can't believe you! You know what complete bull those shows are!"
This was too much for Harley to bear: he leapt at Drew and tackled him, pinning him to the white carpet and holding his wrists to the ground. "Listen, doll face," He snarled. "I spent three hours breaking my back today to steam-clean these carpets, so I'll appreciate it if you wouldn't get your beer backwash on them. But you will not--NOT--insult my show in front of me. Do you understand me?"
"Well, yeah," Drew said, slightly sheepishly. "But you know, the fact that you're the one pinning me to the floor is slightly awkward. You sure I'm not your type?"
"Pff." Harley snorted. "Positive. Now, since it's too late for Jack to scratch your entries, you're going to have to compete. And you will NOT throw this, got it? Jack's right-- you need a romantic connection in your life."
Drew frowned. "Fine. I'll do it."
