In this story the Bennets have better connections. A compromise early in the Earl of Matlock's life led to a large age gap between Col. Fitzwilliam and his elder brother, the Viscount. The Viscount is of an age with Mr. Bennet. The friendship between the two led to a higher ranked godfather for Elizabeth. It is light hearted with little angst.

SOULMATE AU. "Inked" people are rare, and can communicate with their Soulmates by marking their own skin. Elizabeth is reluctant to meet her Soulmate. Marriage forces the Darcys to learn a thing or two more about pride and prejudices than they ever thought they needed to know.

Darcy does not accompany Bingley to Netherfield. Therefore, he does not meet Elizabeth until his first trip to Rosings, resulting in some major changes to the way their relationship develops.

Elizabeth never meant for this to happen. One mistake-one simple mistake-and her life had unraveled around her. Now, on a path she never expected or wished for, she must learn about herself, about the things that are lost along the way to who we will become, and about the power love has to heal as well as to harm. After such a mistake, can she truly ever be happy again?
