Author has written 5 stories for Yu-Gi-Oh, and Avatar: Last Airbender.
I'm a student in high school, and let me just say that I've been a fan of Yugioh since it first aired here in the US. I'm most familiar with the English anime, and I'm sorry to say that I'm not very familiar with the manga. Yugioh is really the only anime that I bothered to watch besides Pokemon, and even then I didn't watch Pokemon on a regular basis. Besides Yugioh, I'm sorry to say that I'm not a terribly huge fan of reading manga or watching anime. What attracted me to Yugioh was its connection with Ancient Egypt, since I was obsessed with ancient civilizations when I was younger, and my favorite was Egypt. I especially loved reading about Egyptian mythology, and I'll be including some of the gods in my story "Memoirs". However, I do have several manga-crazy friends, and I'm nice enough to listen to them and pick up a few things or so : )
Since the Yugioh series is now done, I mainly watch "Avatar: The Last Airbender". I don't really have time to watch other tv shows besides that, and plus my younger brother always hogs the tv. When he's not watching my Mom is, and so I don't have much access to the tv. When I get the inspiration, I'll be writing a few "Avatar" fanfics. Most likely they will just be one shots, or have a few chapters at the most. I'm devoting most of my energy to my story "Memoirs".
What I love about Avatar the most is its integration of Asian culture, since I'm an Asian American myself. I don't have a pairing preference. I really like Sukka, but I also think that Sokka can go with Toph and Yue. I'm neutral between Kataang and Zutara. Truth be told, I think both are great couples. I once told a friend that I can't see Zutara happening, but with the NYCC Season 3 Finale Trailer, I've changed my mind. I'm excited that the show's starting up again, and I can't wait to see how it all ends!
I have many interests, which include making my own jewelry, playing piano, listening to my iPod, and other things. My main writing consists of poetry and in my journal. If you are interested, I'll be publishing some of my poems on fictionpress.com, under the same pen name.
Just for the heck of it, here are some other things about me:
Name: Hmm...people sending me PMs have called me JustJos, but I think that's a little wacky. -thinking-...Just call me "J.J."
Color: My favorite color is blue
Music: I listen to all kinds of music. I've had my iPod for almost two years now, and in that time my tastes have changed dramatically. Anybody that goes through my iPod is likely to find at least one (if not several) artist or songs that they just can't stand. I mostly listen to alternative rock, but I also like R&B/Soul music. Among my favorite artists are Fall Out Boy, New Found Glory, Yellowcard, Daughtry, The Audition, All Time Low, Musiq Soulchild, Mary J. Blige, and many others. I recently discovered this AWESOME alternative band named We the Kings. They are SO good, and I highly recommend them for anyone who likes fast, upbeat, slightly punk rock.
Books: I love to read, but lately I only have time to read for school. I absolutely love reading historical fiction. Most of my reading tends to have something to do with my current obsession. Right now I would have to say that my current obsession is with the Tudors. I really admire Elizabeth I, and I love reading historical fiction about her.
Values: I'm not going to talk about religion or politics, because I think those are private matters, and it is best if we keep things like that to ourselves. One of my values is being true to yourself. I think that if you read my story "Memoirs", this comes as no surprise. But that is one of my strongest and deepest values. I just can't stand people who pretend to be someone else just to impress people. Tied to this value is being loyal to your friends. I've personally seen girls (and guys) who leave their friends behind either for better, more popular friends, or because they've got a boyfriend/girlfriend. I think it's great to have friends of all sorts, and to be friends with anybody, but I can't stand people who ditch their friends for popularity, relationships, etc...It's important to stay balanced with all aspects of your lives, and to develop a strong identity as well.
That's all I have to say right now. Thanks for taking the time to see my profile: )
Ideas: I have two ideas that I'm seriously considering turning into stories for YuGiOh. I do not know if I will start them while I'm working on "Memoirs", or if I will do them after "Memoirs" is done (which won't be for a while). If you have anything to say about these ideas, or if I should start them ASAP, feel free to send me a message...
My Rival, My Friend Nonetheless- Mana. Tea. The two of them have been best friends since childhood, but they both have their eye on one man, Prince Atem. But only one of them can be the future Queen, can their friendship survive the struggle? And Seto loves Tea, but he doesn’t know that he has competition…
Shadow of the Pharaoh- Akhenamkhanen and Akhnadin are twin brothers. But Akhenamkhanen has always been the one to inherit the throne, and Akhnadin has been the one in the shadows. When the time comes to decide, will Akhnadin break free of being his brother’s shadow? Or will he abandon the one he loves and bind himself to his brother, and to Egypt?
I have just joined a C2 Community formed by Voice of the Shadow Realm called "Sands of Time". It will only have stories from the Ancient Egypt arc, and involve only charactes from that arc as well. So if you love the Ancient Egypt arc, Ancient Egypt itself, or if you are willing to get a better taste of either, check it out! And I will need everyone's help with spotting stories that should be in that archive, so if there's a really good story out there from the Ancient Egypt arc that you think should be in that archive, send a message to Voice of the Shadow Realm or feel free to message me. Unfortunately, OC-centric stories are not allowed... : (
10/3- Wow... I haven't posted anything on here for almost 2 months already. I'm REALLY sorry about that...school has just been SO hectic and in the spare time that I do have, I'm supposed to be studying for all those ridiculous tests that come with junior year: PSAT, SATs, ACT, etc. But I did start on Chap. 26, and I will write that as I can. It might very well be a while though...probably not until November. I'm really sorry, but I did not anticipate how busy I will be. Please stay tuned everyone, and thank you for sticking out with me for this far! Actually, I may consider splitting Chap. 26 of "Memoirs" into two smaller parts so that you all will have something to read. Feel free to send me a message if you would prefer this. Thanks!
1/4/09- A very happy New Year to everyone! I know that it's been a while, I've been so busy with everything, and for a while, I thought that I would have to put "Memoirs" on an indefinite hiatus or abandon it altogether. But for now, I am still writing, or rather, I had picked up writing again. But school is starting up again, but I AM determined to put up Chapter 26, at the very least. Thank you for sticking with me, and I hope to have something up for you to read soon.
3/27/11- Unfortunately, there seems to be something wrong with my account, because I've been unable to update any chapters or edit any of my stories. Each time I click on a link to edit one of my stories, I get an error reading, "Fanfiction Error Type 2". If there's anybody who is also having the same problem, or has any idea of how to fix it, please let me know. Until then, I won't be able to update because of that stupid glitch :( But I'm still whipping out chapter after chapter!
