Hey everyone! By you reading this means somehow my work has gotten your attention (and hopefully in a good way) :) So about me...
Professionally, I'm a Music Teacher. Unprofessionally, I've been a writer since elementary school. Despite this, I can't spell worth peanuts ;). I have one of the most eclectic tastes in music, hobbies and interests of anyone I know, part of which you can see from my various works. I have a core of TV shows that I loooooove to watch, and my friends all think I have an unnatural (...and slightly unhealthy) obsession with Ewan McGregor. I, however, believe they are mistaken and need to be introduced to the light. ;)
I took a bit of a hiatus from the world of fan fiction for a few years after a disastrous run-in with a Creative Writing Professor (He Who Shall Not Be Named, if you will) who squashed the passion and fun out of writing for me. Can someone tell me how a creative writing assignment can be 'wrong?' (Besides the obvious spelling and punctuation errors, of course, how can someone's imagination be anything other than what it is?) I beg of any teachers out there, please do not do this to your students. You can find something positive and ignite the embers they have naturally burning without snuffing out the flames entirely. I almost swore off Fan Fiction and my far-fetched dreams to publish a novel entirely until a little show called NCIS (and some extremely talented fan fic authors!) got the creative juices flowing again. :)
I love singing and acting. I have an abnormal attraction to cute and fluffy animals. My favorite characters tend to be the second in command (First Officers, Very Special Senior Field Agents, Oldest Sons who leave to travel the world...) I like to pretend I'm the next Rachael Ray and can make wholesome and delicious meals without breaking a sweat. I can't walk and chew gum at the same time unless you put it to music and I also love using big words to make me sound smart even though I have to Google them to make sure I spelled them correctly. And I have a really bad habit of Capitalizing lots of words (Even When I Know They Shouldn't Be...) In Grad School a classmate turned to me after a presentation and said "You're a classical singer, aren't you? I can tell." Half of me wanted to laugh while the rest of me was super confused (I'm sure that didn't help my case at all...).
Suggestions and constructive comments are always welcome. :) Don't be afraid to drop a line! I may be super busy, but I love to hear from other authors. (I'm also the stereotypical musician/artist and always love to hear how wonderful I am ;))
Thanks for stopping by and, as always, enjoy!
