Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter.
Yo! Since my first shot at this was kind of suckish, I'm gonna try this again.
Name: I'm kind of paranoid when it comes to using my real name on the web, or even in real life, really. Nefarious is a name I coined way back when, and it means 'extremely wicked.' I thought it was pretty appropriate for me. A lot of my mail is addressed to the name Rant Casey (Yes, I really am that paranoid). Cudos to anyone who knows what book it's from.
Age: Physically, 21. Mentally, I think I'm starting to catch up.
Sex: It's a girl!
Orientation: Bi. Gender has never really been an issue with me.
Location: A college town in The States that more often than not has terrible traffic.
Who I am: I am... I have no idea. What is it that defines who people are? I'm a philosophical kind of person, obviously. The type to question everything. I'm a weird mixture of cynicism and open-mindedness. I've wanted to be writer since the third grade when I won a writing contest to a Miami Dolphin's game. I'm an artist, and have wanted to be one since kindergarten when a dolphin sculpture I made got me put in advanced creative art classes. I'm a Libra with an interest in palm reading and consulting tarot cards (a family tradition), tea leaf reading and horoscopes. I believe in reincarnation. I like traveling and roadtrips but I hate moving, having moved around a lot during my childhood. I'm a health food nut (raw vegetables, flax seeds, soy milk, whole-grains), but I'm not a vegetarian. I'm very interested in learning about other cultures and languages. I have always had a certain interest in human psychology, what makes people tick, why people are the way they are. I hate globalization, the retarded American health care system, dependant transportation system, educational system. Most systems. Racists. Homophobes. Extreme hypocrites. Sell-outs (Hilary Clinton). People who never learn from their mistakes. I hate how important money is. In short, I'm a person with her own ideas and opinions, issues and problems. Just like everyone else.
Movies: I'm a big fan of documentaries like SiCKO and Super-Size Me. I'll watch anything by Michael Moore. I like clever movies that have something to say like Thank You For Smoking and Fast Food Nation. I love horror movies with shock appeal like House of a Thousand Corpses and The Devil's Rejects (Rob Zombie is The Man), Shutter (the Korean one, not the remake) and Saw. I love musicals like Chicago, Moulin Rouge and RENT, which I think has something to do with being raised with Disney movies like The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. I'm a fan of Kevin Smith movies like Clerks and Chasing Amy, and I have a love/hate relationship with movies that make me cry like A Walk to Remember and Titanic.
Music: I'm really big on music and listen to everthing from showtunes to Eminem. I don't usually like played-out Top 40 songs, but I have been prone to singing along to techno synthpop like Fireflies by Owl City. I don't usually listen to gospel or country songs, either, especially the modern ones, but there are a few exceptions. If I were to list everything I like, I'd develop carpal tunnel syndrone before I even made a dent, but here are some artists as they occur to me: The Used, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Billy Talent, Lil Wayne, Imogen Heap, Drake, The Academy is..., Gym Class Heroes, Panic! At The Disco, Nelly, 30 Seconds to Mars, Tokio Hotel, Yelle, Semi-Precious Weapons, and a whole lot more. In my humblest opinion, Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of the greatest songs ever made.
Books: I'll read anything by Chuck Palahniuk. Clever satires are one of my favorite genres. She's Come Undone is one of my all time favorites by Wally Lamb, even if it is on the Oprah Book Club list.
Poetry: My favorite poet at the moment is Walt Whitman, an old love that was reawakened by that Levi's commercial. Another is Robert Frost. I'm also a little in love with Plato's epigrams on his beloved Aster.
TV: I don't have the time to watch a lot of TV, but here are some shows that I'm a fan of: Misfits, Queer as Folk, Alphas, Teen Wolf, Beautiful People, and some others I can't recall.
I'm a huge slash and yaoi fan. I can slash just about anything.
Naruto: SasuNaru (never NaruSasu, Naruto is just too uke to top). KakaIru. InoSaku. ItaSasu (I don't read a lot of 'cest, but I don't have a problem with fictional incest because of the inherit fact of them not being real).
FullMetal Alchemist: EdAl (rarely). RoyEd (My first delve into the World of Yaoi)
Inuyasha: SessKag (Look! A straight couple! One of the few that I found interesting enough to read about)
Harry Potter: Remus/Sirius or Sirius/Remus (Their just so puppylovable!). Harry/Draco (Never Draco/Harry. I tend to lose interest most of the time if Harry isn't the more dominate one. Go figure.)
DeathNote: L/Raito (I'm not to crazy about Raito/L, though. I just can't picture L being submissive in any way). Matt/Mello or Mello/Matt. Mello/Near. L/Mello, a pairing that has so much potential but so little interest.
Tsubasa Reservior Chronicles: KuroFai (totally cannon), Syaoran/Sakura (Duh)
xxxHOLiC: Doumeki/Watanuki (it's so obvious)
Okane Ga Nai: Kanou/Ayase. I read the manga, and it kind of squicked me at first, seeing Ayase stripped naked and being auctioned on that stage, then being practically (literally) raped when Kanou bought him. I usually hate it when ukes are so defenseless and pathetic, but Okane Ga Nai managed to grow on me.
Nabari No Ou: Yoite/Miharu (Yoite does not die! I don't care what the anime says.)
Switch: Hal/Kai, others
Criminal Minds: Morgan/Reid
What Yaoi Stereotype Are You?
Your kind is fairly common. Most likely you are the older or more experienced one in your relationship(s). Or, maybe you are your uke's superior in some way (as in at work or school). This makes your relationship bittersweet. While you may love your uke very much (and you and he have a rather steamy sex life), you find it hard to express your affections due to one obstacle or another. Maybe you aren't allowed to be together (no dating in the work place, for example), maybe you've been burned in the past and are hesitant to admit to anyone (including yourself) that you feel that way, or maybe your uke insists that there's no emotion in the relationship (in other words: he views you as fuck buddies). Even though it only seems like your relationships are meant to end in disaster, you would still risk more than you should for the one you love.
Likeliness of being uke: 5%
Likeliness of being seme: 95%
Mother Knows Best
The idea had been in my head for a while there and I just had to get it out. It's slash, of course. HPDM, since its timeless. Not to mention ridiculously hot. AU, because I don't like having restrictions when it comes to my creativity.
As far as updates go, I know I said I'd be updating every week or so (and I was doing well for a while there), but I've come to my senses and realized how unrealistic that goal is. As much as I'd like to, I just can't make that kind of deadline these days. Lately, sitting down at my computer seems like a mission, not something I can just do.
Let me just say now that I will never drop this story. It's my baby, something I've spent way too long laying out. The plot, for one, keeps getting thicker and thicker at a rate even I can't control. It's intricate, more intricate than I'd planned on, but very satisfying. The characters have pretty much developed their own personalities at this point, hence the OOC warning.
I want this to be a coming-out, timeline unimportant, modern day love story. Everything is already fleshed out now, so it's just a matter of sitting down and writing it.
Life in Theory
This is a oneshot proposed by the lovely SBinkley17, my co-author on this story. The idea was pitched via PM, and I was hooked pretty much the second I read it. I couldn't say no.
Surprisingly, this one is not an AU. It takes place somewhere early OotP. Here's a working summary:
In which Harry Potter is not sorted into Slytherin, but so easily could've been.
This is one I'm super excited about. I know it sounds like a Madonna song, but it's really a Rom-Com in the making.
Non-Magic AU. Harry Potter, a firefighter with an abandonment complex, meets a high-maintence young man named Draco at his best friends' wedding. The problem? Harry's girlfriend, Ginny.'
And no, there is very little Ginny-bashing in this story.
The Prince of Salem
I know, I know. I can't even keep MKB on a frequent update status, yet I'm starting another? Don't worry, this one isn't even close to being posted, just something in the back of my mind that I want to come back to once MKB is reaching its completion. It's on the back-burner, so to speak.
Again, it's AU. Nothing is certain, so I can't tell you much, but it is HPDM, completely different from MKB, and pretty much a fairytale dating back to way-back-when in the make-believe kingdom of Salem. Almost nothing about it is likely to be historically accurate (again, I don't work well with limitations), but yes, the Salem Witch Trials were a major inspiration, as was the movie Moulin Rouge. There will probably be about ten chapters.
In short, this story will include warriors, rent-boys, invasions, witchcraft, slash, combat, and more. Something to look forward to, huh?
Year of the Liar
Again, this is far in coming, just something I'm thinking about at this point. It's a SasuNaru AU that spands over a year about Naruto getting adopted by the head honcho of an architechural firm, Sasuke Uchiha, and his doctor-in-training wife, Sakura. It's about lies having the power to effect the lives of everyone involved for even generations to come. Nothing is as it seems in this story, so making assumptions is pretty useless.
