Cantata (kuhn-tah-tuh) : A musical composition for voice and instruments and including choruses, solos, and recitatives.
Hey all, I'm Cantata. I'm currently a freshman in college and dead set on going into the business side of the music industry.
Though I'm a classical singer, I find most professional singers (and other professional musicians, for that matter...) to be rather shallow...no offense. And I don't want to have to deal with that by actually going into vocal performance.
I'm usually rather contemplative and I enjoy a wide variety of subjects. I love singing, doing various artsy things (i.e. painting, drawing, all that jazz), and reading.
I love most genres of music, but I rarely like anything in country and I've never found anything I've enjoyed in rap. I do love the poetry some of the lyrics have, but I hate the musical presentation.
In my opinion, if you can't hum it, it ain't music.
As for books, I like all fiction and some non-fiction. I'm generally well-read, and I've read a slew of classics and plays. But I still think that Ben Franklin's Autobiography is one of the worst books written. But I especially enjoy fairytales and their various retellings. I love seeing the parallels in various cultures through these, and I've always been an inner romantic as well as a horrible daydreamer.
Ironically, I'm also a horrible pessimist and although I would love that perfect ideal to be real, but I know it never will.
...So it all mixes into a happy bowl of fun.
Anyways, I usually have a rather twisted sense of humor, and I have a tendency to have cursing within my writing, as you all can see. Occasionally I may make rather controversial slurs within my writing, but these are usually not reflective of my personal views.
I apologize if I offend you with it, but it's just my way.
If you don't like it, please just leave. Don't send me some nasty message about offending you, because it will most likely just be ignored and/or laughed at. However, I'm fully open to critical messages about improvements and mistakes, and often bluntness is appreciated. So long as there are legitimate reasons behind your criticisms I welcome them with open arms. Just please, no nonsensical flames.
Besides this, I usually continually edit what I write. Usually it's nothing major, just wording that I feel could be improved and the like. If I make any significant changes, I'll be sure to make it known.
Also, I have a horrible tendency to forget to reply to comments and messages, so if I fail to reply in a timely manner, it probably won't be answered at all and my horrible habit/tendency would be why.
