Nothing is as he remembers it, and while he has been restored to his rightful place by Fire-Lord Ozai he cannot help but wonder if the choices that brought him here, were the right ones.

S3 Zutara. The Gang wake up from a fun night of drinking to find none of them can quite remember how Katara and Zuko may have ended up married. Together, the two must face the consequences of their actions. Inspired by a film I saw once when I was a kid, I can't remember the name or any of the actors in it so this is a very lose adaption. Rated T for strong language/ sex talks

Katara shouldn't have been rude to her new customer, no matter how busy the coffeeshop or how obnoxiously he ordered his latte. Then she shouldn't have found herself smiling every time he came back. She really shouldn't have started crushing on him. And she really, really, really shouldn't keep pretending she can't speak English.

Crown Prince Zuko was not what his crew expected. He spent most of his time hunting scrolls rather than hunting the Avatar; and they in turn spent more time reminding him not to speak words of treason than they did fighting enemies. When Zuko is born a genius, he realizes early on that knowledge is true power. Slight OOC.

The end of the war was within reach when disaster struck: Avatar Aang lost his life while energy-bending Ozai. But out of the darkness came one last chance at hope, because the Avatar spirit was reborn… in Aang's instructors.
