To everyone who thought they were getting another chapter of the Great Disney Adventure III. I apologize. I had a major blonde moment and uploaded the chapter to the wrong story. I am still kicking myself over it. Thank you to the kind people who have pointed out my mistake. Once again, I am very sorry about the confusion! 1/26/2020 Hello everyone!! So... shortly after announcing my intentions to possibly work on a few new stories my life went through a few changes. I got a new job and I also got a part in a play. These are all good changes, but these changes also completely wiped out my spare time. NOW I have finished up my play and gotten a bit more settled in my new job so I can start writing a bit again. I have started writing Sophia's Story (the first chapter is live on the website) and I am also working on the plot for another crossover. I plan on updating Sophia's Story on my usual schedule (new chapter every other Sunday-ish). I'm not sure when I will start posting the new story. Still in the development phase. Stay tuned for more details! 4/16/2018 Hello everyone. Ten years ago, while I was working a midnight shift at a grocery store, bored out of my mind, I got an idea for a story. Before work, I had watched a series of Disney videos with my younger cousin. A thought crossed my mind. What if all of the Disney characters could actually interact with each other? This idea turned into a little fanfiction that was meant to be a side project while I worked on other stories. I didn’t anyone would read it and was shooting for ten reviews for the entire series. Ten years, 3 installments, and 2,471 reviews later, I’m still writing The Great Disney Adventure. Writing this story has been a real joy and I’m still excited to see that new people are finding my little fanfic for the first time. I’ve gotten so much support and encouragement for this story for so long, which it why I feel really disappointed to announce that I am not planning to write a fourth installment. In fact, I’ve decided that I don’t want to write anything for fanfiction.net any more. When I began the story, I decided that I would continue to write the Great Disney Adventure series as long as I had people who wanted to read it AND as long as I had ideas to continue the story and enjoyed writing it. I still like writing the actual story and I have plenty of ideas, but unfortunately quite a few things have happened in recent years that have ruined any enjoyment that I used to get out of writing this series. For the record, I genuinely don’t care that much about how many reviews I get any more. I never thought it would take off and the fact that it did came as a very pleasant surprise. My decision to stop writing this series has nothing to do with the fact that the story’s popularity has tapered off a bit in recent years. The people who still love this series are amazingly dedicated and they are the reason I have written for so many years. In a perfect world, I would have written a fourth story, even if only one person was reading it just because I enjoy it so much. There are two big reasons why I plan to stop writing. One is pretty familiar. Every day, I receive more and more toxic mail, usually complete with insults and personal attacks. It tends to fall in three categories: A. Telling met that I’m not as good a writer as I used to be (this somehow makes me a terrible person) B. Transparent attempts to get me to review their stories because they see that mine is pretty popular and think my endorsement will encourage people who read my story to read their story (PS this is an extremely ineffective method IMHO) C. Angry accusations that I do not write enough (this also makes me a terrible person. There were two particularly bad instances. One person told me that I was selfish for taking a break from writing after my Grandpa died. I also received NUMEROUS emails yelling at me for not writing after I had major eye surgery. I couldn’t write because I literally could not see. I was considered legally blind during that time period) The internet is not a nice place. I’m not new here. I get that. For the most part, I was able to ignore these criticisms because the support and positive messages I received outweighed the bad. Today that is no longer the case. My feelings are pretty resistant, I’ve never changed anything about the way I write to appease the trolls of the world, but I am definitely getting tired of it. The second and bigger reason has more to do with the actual writing. My story has been plagiarized in some form over a dozen times (and these are only the instances that I know about). I’m not referring to the idea of a regular person entering a Disney universe, I did not come up with this concept and people have been coming up with these types of stories for years. However, numerous stories on this site have used this concept with specifics that come directly from my story: characters named Kelsey, villain alliances with Thirteen in the title, my opening scene, calling the world The Kingdom, the concept of Real, Unreal, and Animated, the role of Walt Disney, and more. Sometimes people will just copy entire passages that I wrote and change the names. If you do this, make no mistake you are stealing. You are taking something that I took a lot of time and energy to write and passing it off as your own. This is wrong! Usually, when I make this point, I get the same arguments. Here they are and this is why they are bullshit: A. I’m only doing this because I loved your book so much and I wanted to write my own. After all, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. I am not flattered by any of the copy attempts. I am not honored. I am hurt and angry. You are in fact showing that you have very little respect for me as a writer when you hijack my work. B. I changed the names and characters so it’s not really copying you. Yes, yes it is. It doesn’t matter if you take a little or a lot. If you wouldn’t have thought up these scenarios if you hadn’t seen them in my story first, it is stealing. C. I’m only using the parts from your story as a “starting point”, it will get more original later on. I don’t care! It’s my story! I didn’t “borrow” the opening of Harry Potter and change the name to “Kelsey” just to get started. I came up with my own plots and kept trying until I stumbled upon something that people seemed to like. It’s still stealing and it’s still wrong. D. I included a note that said my story was inspired by yours so really I’m giving you credit. No, you’re not. You didn’t ask me. I would have said no. As much as I hate that people steal my work, I think the fact that people who have read my story have also read some of these stories and encouraged the writers despite the fact that they must have known that they got it from my story hurts even more. If you’re planning on using material that you have found somewhere else on this site, for the love of God ASK THE AUTHOR FIRST!! And if they say no, think of something else! Also, if you do see material that might have been lifted from another source PLEASE contact the writer in a respectful way and encourage them to stop. If you’re still reading this, I’m impressed and grateful. You’re probably one of the more dedicated readers. Despite the rough couple of years, I have genuinely enjoyed writing the Great Disney Adventure series and I am very grateful to the readers who have supported me and continued to read through the years. In a perfect world, I would have written a fourth book. Between the copying and the cyberbullying, I’ve decided that I have worn out my welcome at fanfiction.net. Because of your support and my genuine love for my little fanfiction, I do plan on completing The Great Disney Adventure III: Heroes and Villains and bringing my series to a proper close. I will also leave the stories on the site for anyone who still wants to read them. At this point, I don’t plan on starting any additional projects. I feel like I’m departing with a whimper instead of a shout and I can’t help but feel a little disappointed that I am going out on this note. Despite all that has happened, I am glad that I was able to interact with so many great people and grateful that you have read for so many years. I still have a few people who continue to support the series and have done so since Day 1. I was able to write this story for ten years. That is CRAZY! It is WAY beyond the average fanfiction shelf life. I appreciate this and I am so grateful to my loyal readers. You made writing this story an absolute joy! As always, Thanks for reading!! Sincerely, Talking2myself 12/12/2017 Hello everyone! I don't usually bring up politics, but darn it this is very important and relevant to the future of this site. By now I'm sure, you have all heard about 'Net Neutrality' because plenty of online creators have been screaming about it at the top of our lungs. Why? Because it it could be repealed in a matter of days and the impact it would have on the internet would be HUGE. Simply put, net neutrality is the principle that everyone should be able to freely access all parts of the internet freely. If this is repealed, it would be much easier for internet provider companies to control how you use the internet. This wrong for two big reasons. 1. Limiting the general public's access to information is shamefully wrong and against the principles of our country. We have a right to free speech and it is being severely limited this way. This would give large companies the power to stifle organizations that do not agree with them politically or compete with them. 2. On a more practical note, without Net Neutrality protections, internet providers COULD do the following: A. Create an internet "fast lane" that would cost more to load certain applications (for example: they COULD make it cost more to use Netflix. Somewhat similar to what cable providers do with TV channels) B. Block our access to certain websites (For example: If Charter Spectrum found out that AT&T was charging less for internet, they could block AT&T websites for its users so they don't jump ship). As part of a unique and creative online community, we should be outraged! Please contact the FCC and your congress representatives and let your voice be heard. Tell them this is wrong!! 6/19/2016: Hello everyone. It has a been a week since the tragic Orlando Night Club Shooting. My heart goes out to all the victims of the shooting, their family members and any readers who are currently living in Orlando. I hope that they find the compassion, love and healing they need to get through this terrible tragedy in the coming days. Honestly, I can't help but feel frustrated with my country that this continues to happen. Like many other late eighties/early nineties kids, I can remember when the Columbine shooting occurred. I can remember how shocked people were. They couldn't wrap their minds around something like this happening. Never in their wildest dreams did they image that something so terrible could occur. Now, nearly two decades later, people are still horrified when shootings like this occur, but the "shock" is gone. While people are still devastated and no one escapes these things to happen, people are not overly shocked when they read about these things in the news. In a weird way, these tragic events have become "normal" to us, and I find that fact absolutely terrifying! This is not going to be a political sermon, I swear. I don't have any answers. Was it a terrorist act? Was it a hate crime? Is it too easy to get a gun in this country? Were there racist motives? I honestly do not know. But I do believe that hateful rhetoric fuels tragedies like this. Generally, I believe that the good people outnumber the bad in this world, but as we've witnessed time and again, one "bad" person is capable of causing serious harm. In the days coming, it is my hope that people will think long and hard about their words and actions. Please meet this tragedy with love and support for the victims and a spirit of cooperation and compassion. Please don't tolerate hateful rhetoric whether it is against the LGBT community, the latin community, muslims, gun control activists, gun rights advocates, democrats or republicans and liberals or conservatives (all of these groups will inevitably get discussed in their turn). As the late great Martin Luther King Jr. once said. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hatred cannot drive out hatred only love can do that." 11/23/2014: Hello everyone. So looking back at this story. I've realized that The Thirteen has gone through a lot of changes so in effort to clear some of this up (And prove that my math is sound. I present: *drumroll* The Evolution of the Thirteen The original Thirteen began wiith 13 villains recruited by Aaron, a misguided boy from our world. This included several former circle members and consisted of the following villains: 1. Maleficent (former "frenemy" of Mim and Circle Member) 2. Jafar w/Iago (Aaron's mentor) (Iago is a sidekick and not considered a full-fledged member) 3. Frollo (Lust for power seemed to mirror Aarons, killed during the Battle of Notre Dame) 4. Yzma w/Kronk (Kronk, like Iago, is considered part of Yzma's team. Let's face it he's not exactly a villain in his own right. Ultimately leaves to pursue scouting) 5. Rourke (Revived by Hades as a crystalline creature after nearly destroyed when fighting Milo) 6. Hades w/Pain and Panic (Again Pain and Panic are not considered members) 7. Cruella w/Horace and Jasper (So far not seen) 8. Gaston (After being saved from death via cliff fall) 9. Randall 10. Davy Jones (Fired after his "heart" made him a liability) 11. Hook w/crew including Mr. Smee 12. Scar w/hyenas 13. Ursula (Killed by Prince Eric) Over the course of the stories there were three major exits. The first one occurred when Davy Jones was "fired" by Aaron. Towards the end of the second novel Aaron was deposed as leader of The Thirteen as the others chose to run the organization on their own. Two more villains were removed when Ursula and Frollo were killed as their own plotlines developed (with a little help from Kelsey and her companions). Dr. Facilier was recruited while "Khaos" and Mim managed to infiltrate the Thirteen. So once again the number was brought to 13. 1. Maleficent 2. Jafar w/Iago 3. Dr. Facilier (Replacement; recruited to make up lost members) 4. Yzma 5. Rourke 6. Hades w/Pain and Panic 7. Cruella w/Jasper and Horace 8. Gaston 9. Randall 10. "Khaos (Replacement; secretly Kelsey spying on The Thirteen) 11. Hook w/Crew 12. Scar w/hyenas 13. Mim (Replacement; secretly working with Kelsey) The most recent revelations left Yzma transformed into a cat, Kronk leaving the Thirteen as a sidekick and Kelsey and Mim revealed as spies. Stay tuned to discover what new changes lie in store for The Thirteen! 8/29/2014 Hello everyone! Just letting everyone know that I am on vacation in a cabin in the woods away from my computer so my update for this week will be a bit later than they have been lately. 8/11/2014 I'm sure most of you have heard by now, but the very funny, very talented Robin Williams has passed away today. As a child of the nineties, genie was one of my favorite characters growing up and he's still one of the funniest Disney characters. He still makes me laugh when I'm down. Not only did Robin Williams provide laughter to many people he revolutionized the voice acting industry. Very few celebrities considered voice acting worth their time. It was often viewed as beneath high caliber actors and Robin Williams' performance as Genie helped break down that notion and paved the way for other brilliant voice actors. As many of you know, Genie has played a role in The Great Disney Adventure and has a special place in Kelsey's heart. Robin Williams will be missed and will hopefully live on in his characters. 8/3/2014 So after much pondering I have come to a conclusion. For many years I've said that I don't plan on continuing my stories/ sequels if I run out of ideas. Well, I think got one more story left in me. So far my plans are to finish up the third Great Disney Adventure Installment. After that I will write my fourth and final Great Disney Adventure fanfiction. Big thanks to all the readers who have stuck with me for so long. Hopefully you'll join me on one last adventure. 3/26/13 Want to know why Kelsey has a distinct dislike for princesses. Watch this video by the incredibly awesome Nostalgia Critic. This is almost as is if he took every thought that I (and therefore Kelsey) have ever had about the princess franchise. I encourage you to check it out. http:///videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/nostalgia-critic/38723-nostalgia-critic-whats-with-the-princess-hate 7/28/12 Hello everyone. I'm happy to say that my stupid eye surgery was successful. I am still recovering and just writing this down is making me woozy because my eye is so bad. But once I'm fully recovered I will be able to start writing again. Oh and in response to the brilliantly composed review by one "Guest" who sent me this charming review ":this is so long i didnt ever read that much but the first bit is terrible no offense" 1. If you're going to offer me suggestions please leave your name so I can respond to your messages. If you have an opinion at least be bold and own up to it. 2. What pray tell is terrible about it? Admittedly, it starts a little slow, but if you had read the first two installments... oh wait. That would require reading the entire thing. 3. Your grammar is terrible. No offense. Your message should read this way if you had followed the proper grammar conventions. "This is so long. I didn't even read that much, but the first bit is terrible. No offense." 4. 1669 positive reviews... one negative review in six years. I can live with that.
This is my THIRD surgery. My first was when I was eighteen months old. That gives you an idea of how long I have been battling this. There is also no guarantee that this is my final surgery. The whole situation has been very frustrating and exhausting. I'm incredibly sick of the health related issues I've gone through this last year. I'm not sure when I will actual have to undergo the whole process. PLEASE have patience. A lot of the time I am not able to write. But obviously correcting my sight is my main priority right now. 2/18/12 Hello everyone. The chapter is forthcoming! It's in the tweaking stage. To hold you off until then. Here is a picture of Sophia. I am quite proud of this! :D 2/7/12 Hello everyone... well, I have some explaining to do. The reasons I have been gone for so long. There are many. Many of you know about the recent death of my grandfather, but during this time I also discovered that my brain doesn't produce enough serotonin so I was battling that. I wouldn't call it "depression" more like severe mood fluctuations because I didn't always get enough serotonin to feel "happy" even when I should. In addition to this, my family has been been feuding with my one remaining grandpa who said some very unkind things to me (on Christmas Day). On top of all of this, I'm attempting to graduate college and I had a rather taxing semester. All in all, I just didn't have the emotional energy to write this so I had to go on hiatus and focus on getting healthy. BUT! I'm back! I plan on updating again real soon and this is largely thanks to some of the requests of reviewers and the lovely gestures of a few readers. This fanfiction has been reviewed by the lovely Jr.fanfic.critic on youtube. I encourage you guys to check out her other reviews. She has reviewed The Great Disney Adventure I and II and I have the link to the first one below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxRobFXnsg4 In addition, CMR Rosa has developed a Wiki for this series. (*Jumps up and down and dances happily* I have a wiki! I have a wiki! eh ahem. I encourage you guys to check it out and edit where you see necessary. It's still somewhat in the developing stages. I've been working on it with CMR Rosa, but there are still a few blank pages. Here's the link for that. http:///wiki/The_Great_Disney_Adventure_Epic_Wiki_talk:Community_Portal Anyways, I thank you for your patience. I will try to make it up to you! 2/17/11: To my fellow readers: I realize that I've been absent from writing for quite a while now. This time I have a genuinely valid reason. Like my character, Kelsey, I am a proud resident of Wisconsin and a junior at a wonderful University of Wisconsin campus. In the past week, Governor Walker has proposed a radical bill which, if passed, will take benefits away from state workers including my professors and my parents who are both public school teachers. This would lead to a negative impact on my education. Because of this, I have been taking part in numerous rallies and may end up marching on the capitol soon. I'll never force my political views on anyone else nor drag them into my fanfiction. I am a writer, not a politician. These are just my reasons for not updating as frequently as I normally do. I beg your indulgence I shall try to update when I can. As always, a very heartfelt thanks for reading! 1/10/11 Hello ladies and gents! It's come to my attention that a lot of people have been asking me the same two questions. 1. What is your email address? 2. Can we write a collaboration together if I email you story ideas? My answers to those questions are as followed. 1. I don't release any of my personal email addresses/ facebook info. 2. See answer 1. I ask that none of you guys take this personally, I'm sure you're all lovely reliable people but I lost a very trusty computer to a Trojan virus and since then I do NOT under any circumstances release any of my personal info. I'm just not willing to take any chances. This is the main reason why I don't do collaborations. I do allow people to write stories featuring Kelsey, The Kingdom and my other OCs just as long as it is clearly stated that they are my characters and appear in the GDA series. 11/20/10: I have another "parody" if you will. This one was written by Stone-man85. This side adventure features Kelsey, Emma, and Rob having a little adventure of their own. It's called KH Random Craziness Stuff. And yes, it is QUITE random, but very funny! (I am talking2myself and I support this fanfic!) Also, I have updated my profile to include a few more musical fics that might possibly be written soonish. I also intend to start writing Sing It Scrooge! again. THIS WILL BE THE YEAR THAT I FINISH IT! (Thanks for sticking with this one, folks) 8/18/10: I HAVE MY OWN PARODY!!! lol. Seriously, one of my amazing readers, PokeMaster93 has written a review about my fanfic as Chester A. Bum from the thatguywiththeglasses website. It is absolutely hilarious! I encourage everyone to check it out! It is an honor to have my work ridiculed by you, PokeMaster! (By the way, I am NOT insulted by this fic. I am talking2myself and I support this fanfic!) 8/10/10: Just posted a new poll. Same as the last one. Should I continue writing the Great Disney Adventure Epic. Please take the time to vote as this will ultimately help me decide whether to continue writing this series or not. 8/9/10: Updated my page for the first time in many moons. Should look a little prettier now. Thanks to everyone who has read more stories and/or asked for advice. New picture of Kelsey should be uploaded soon if I can get my computer to cooperate. I know you're probably sick of them, but this one is really good compared to the others! Oh and by the way... I know that a lot of people have been ripping on Tristan C for "copying one of my stories" Tristan and I did have our differences in the past, but we have put that behind us. I appreciate people defending my work, but please lay off the kid. He's been getting a lot of negative feedback because of it. Thanks! Hello Everyone! One more thing to add. If you're a fan of my series, The Great Disney Adventure and you're even the slightest bit curious about what Kelsey or Emma looks like in their animated form (Admit it, you're curious! XD) then please follow the link below to see a lovely portrait that I have drawn of her. As always, thanks for reading! Drawings and Extras: Because I know seem to think I'm an artist.
