Name: Andrew Gender: Male Race: Asian Country: United States State: Massachusetts About Myself Despite the challenges of life, I have decided to be an author on this website. While I have been reading the stories here for the last 2 or 3 years, I have just recently started to write some myself. Anime has been an interest of mine since my early days of watching children's anime. (Pokemon, Monster Rancher, Flint the Time Detective, Megaman, Digimon, Yugioh, Megaman NT Warrior) Hey! Everyone starts somewhere. Although not the best shows, they opened a new door to seeing much better quality Anime, and I have become a true fan ever since. Granted I have little desire to attend conventions or participate in cosplay. Compared with most American Cartoons, Japanese Anime has a story, and there is nothing I like more than some fantasy, a little imagination, and a great story. I am not usually fan of overly excessive drama and profanity most of the time, and I borderline hate reality television due to the lack of real thought that goes into them. Favorite Quotes "If you're afraid to lose, then get stronger. If you want to protect those you love...then do what you have to do to protect them. If you're afraid of that hollow inside you...then get strong enough to crush it. Even if no one in the world believes in you...stick out your chest and scream in defiance! That is the kind of man you are in my heart!" (Rukia Kuchiki, Bleach) "Destiny... Fate... Dreams... These unstoppable ideals are held deeply within the hearts of men! So long as there are people who seek freedom in this life, these things shall not vanish from the Earth!" (Gol D. Roger, One Piece) "Are Marines good? Are Pirates evil? Such things are constantly changing! Children who've never known war have different values than those who have never known peace! Justice will prevail, or course it will... Because the side that wins will become justice!" (Donquixote Doflamingo, One Piece) "Where tree leaves dance, one shall find flames. The Fire's Shadow will illuminate the village... And then, tree leaves will bud anew." (Hiruzen Sarutobi, Naruto) Favorite Anime/Manga: Bleach, One Piece, Fairy Tail, Trinity Blood, HSDK Favorite American Shows: Anything that makes me laugh or has a decent story. Favorite Characters: My favorite characters, and why I like them. They are varied from the most kindhearted, the coolest, the most hilarious, and the most maniacally evil. Abel Nightroad (Trinity Blood): He's definitely not a perfect gentleman by any means, but he's reliable and always does the best he can to do what he believes in. His clumsy and forgetful ways give him a humorous side, but he also has a much more serious side as well that comes out in battle. Abel constantly struggles with his past sins and hopes for peace and prosperity between humans and vampires. He is willing to put his own life on the line for something even though it may never be. Kenichi Shirahama (HSDK): Who's to say that someone with no real talent can't find the strength to carry out his ambitions. This boy may lack the aptitude for martial arts, but his ability to work hard and learn from past mistakes makes him on par with even the greatest young fighters. Having been tormented the majority of his life by bigger kids, he stood up for what he believed in and became the guy that everyone who's ever been bullied wishes they could be! Rukia Kuchiki (Bleach): A small and pretty girl, Rukia has a lot of guts for her size. She shows a lot of compassion for the safety others, but does not usually express her feelings verbally. She can be quite humorous, especially when repremanding Renji and Ichigo, both of which share matching disagreeable dispositions. It's also great to see how she interacts with Ichigo, and the deep bond they share despite coming from different worlds. She's also not the stereotypical big-breasted, long-haired beauty that Shonen writers often choose as their female lead, and this combined with her noticeably flawed personality makes her rather intriguing as a character. Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece): It's great to see a protagonist that's genuine and good-hearted in comparison to the brooding nature of many Shonen heroes. Interestingly enough, this hardly makes him a saint, as he has little regard for those who don't concern him and will lash out at those who would try to stomp on his dreams. I like Luffy's character because he's willing to stand up for what he believes in and doesn't take crap from anyone so long as they give him a reason to fight. Not to mention the countless moments of hilarity that ensue from his childish antics and lack of maturity. Laxus Dreyar (Fairy Tail): Formerly an arrogant jerk who was confident in his abilities, he originally cared very little for his comrades and believed that power was the only true measure of a mage's worth. He learned a valuable lesson through defeat, and has since become a pillar of strength to his fellow members of the Fairy Tail Guild. Perhaps what makes his character most appealing to me is the fact that he has come so far since the early chapters, while still maintaining his overall personality traits. |
