Hi, everyone!

Some of you will know me from another website. I like a few different sci-fi shows, a few anime shows, Grey's Anatomy, Harry Potter, Tom Clancy novels and certain literary classics. Until now, I haven't published fan fiction online. In fact, the last time I wrote fan fiction was when I was in elementary school. Way back then, my character was a self-insertion and a complete Mary Sue. Hopefully, my writing skills have improved since then. Please enjoy and offer constructive criticism. A warning... I watch mostly dubbed anime, so I'll probably go with dubs with certain modifications. If you review my stories, I'll try my best to answer questions if you have them; otherwise, I'll be happy to just say "thanks for reviewing."

I also love to take liberty with giving characters middle names. I have a baby name book plus I research to find out about certain names so they fit with a character. For example, when I include Jaden Yuki in a fic, his middle name will always be Kiyo because the name means "happy child." Jaden definitely is that.

Finally, in many matters in my life, I am an optimist. That means I don't give up on people when it comes to their writing. As I mention below, I've taught English and I believe that anyone has the capacity to be a decent writer. That means I'm helping certain people improve their overall writing style. I offer plot point suggestions which the...student, I suppose you might say, is free to use or disregard, which is a truly subjective thing. We all have our likes and dislikes about people using or disregarding canon. I'm a major Star Trek fan, folks, so I know how sensitive we all are about canon in our TV shows. Secondly, I offer advice and correction on grammar and spelling which is a lot less difficult to disregard. I can also recommend a good website for grammar tutorials at the college level if you'd like to bring up your game. We all have things to learn and even I do too. Addendum made January 5, 2011-- While I can make fair criticism on a fic regarding grammar, spelling and punctuation, I don't feel I can make the same fair criticism regarding canon, particularly when a fic is clearly not canon. I've seen canon wars in a few fandoms get nasty, and I just think life is way too short for such battles. I ultimately consider canon views to be "Your mileage may vary." Why, you ask? Because even though it's clear that James Kirk is NOT GAY and Spock isn't either, I can see at least one Ho Yay moment in "Amok Time" in the original Trek series that gives rise to the Kirk x Spock pairing.

Further addendum regarding pairings/ships, made January 21, 2017: Guys, however you ship, remember that it can be fun. And remember that writers like to mess with us, whether in a past or present series. Have fun with the shipteases and ambiguity. Don't have ship-to-ship combat if you can avoid it. We're all in fandoms together and we're supposed to be having fun, not trying to blast each other out of existence. We have enough of that business in the real world, am I right? Let's have some peace in all fandoms.

Criticism Definitions 101: For Writers and Critics

Authors and authoresses, I think we all need a tutorial on what the differences between flames, harsh criticism and constructive criticism are. We all criticize our fellow authors' works at one time or another, reminding ourselves that none of us is perfect. It is important, therefore to know what the differences between flames, harsh criticism and constructive criticism.

1. The flame: A flame is characterized by no suggestions on improvement. It is simply a diatribe on how the story sucked, the author sucked and how s/he should get out of writing because s/he has no talent. A flame may also contain vulgar language, particularly language that would not be acceptable on North American TV. A borderline flame may contain some constructive criticism, but it also has insults that do nothing to help the author. A flame also contains insults toward the author in different forms.

2. The harsh (but useful) criticism: Okay, many of us have had a criticism that we agreed or disagreed with for some reason. Perhaps we needed to hear what was said, but it was phrased less than diplomatically. The critic intended honesty but was perhaps a little bit too blunt or used language that was too rough for the situation. This is not a flame, but is a criticism that can be used to our advantage.

3. The constructive criticism: This type of criticism contains what a critic liked about the story and what s/he felt you could improve upon. It is well worded and you, the author, can say, "Okay, this is definitely where I need some improvement and I'm glad you pointed that out."

My philosophy regarding flames: I won't give them, though I will give constructive criticism as needed. If you choose to flame me for whatever reason and you are a member of this site, I will choose to respond and in a courteous manner. I may disagree with you, but there's no reason for me to get snippy with you. It serves no purpose and just serves to rile up things.

Yugi-verse Timeline: Peach Wookiee’s edition

Note: This timeline is pushed back a few years from canon. This does allow for certain technological marvels such as wireless Internet to be used. It also allows for speculation about future events.

October 4, 1927—Solomon Muto is born in Napa Valley, California to Satoshi and Utako Muto.

December 7, 1941— The Japanese Navy makes a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

March 1942— On the order of the US government, millions of Japanese Americans and Japanese citizens residing in the US are ordered to live in relocation centers, also referred to as internment or concentration camps. Among the relocated citizens are the Muto family and Nagataka and Reiko Kaiba, the future parents of Gozaburo Kaiba. The Kaibas are, like so many others, required to give up their small business. This sends Nagataka into depression.

1944— Gozaburo Kaiba is born in the Manzanar Japanese Relocation Center.

January 2, 1945-1946—The Japanese internment camps are closed down after the Supreme Court rules them unconstitutional. The Muto and Kaiba families, along with 354 other people, settle in an unincorporated part of southern California, along the coast. Among this group are family members of the legendary 442nd Infantry, made up exclusively of Japanese-Americans fighting to liberate Europe while proving that they are loyal Americans.

September 2, 1945—World War II ends.

1950s—After graduating from college with a degree in Egyptology, Solomon Muto takes a trip to Egypt. While there, he is shot in the back but retrieves the pieces of the Millennium Puzzle in an unknown pharaoh’s tomb. He returns to Domino, meets and marries Sophie Miriam Goldsmith.

1960— Gozaburo Kaiba gets a job at Boeing. He begins learning about weapons, aircraft and ground vehicles, vowing to take back what the government stole from his family.

1962— David Saul Muto is born to Solomon and Sophie. He is an only child and is the future father of Yugi Muto and Mai Valentine. (Jedi League/Whisper timelines)

October 8, 1967—Maximillian Pegasus is born in Napa Valley, California to James and Marina Pegasus. He is an only child.

1969— Gozaburo Kaiba opens Kaiba Corporation.

1974—Kaiba Corp opens its first offices in Tokyo, Japan, Toronto, Canada and West Berlin, West Germany.

1978—Maximillian Pegasus meets Cecelia Carlson, his future wife, at a party at his father’s country home. The two fall in love but won’t become serious until into their teens. (Roses of Autumn)

1983—Gozaburo Kaiba marries Charlotte Uzimaki.

February 1984—David Muto attends a legal conference in New York City. At the same time Hillary Valentine, a model, is in New York for a photo session. She meets David in a bar and drugs him, forcing him into a liaison that results in the conception of a child.

March 1, 1984— Mako Tsunami is born to Benjirou and Yukiko Tsunami in Domino City.

May 1984—David Muto marries his longtime girlfriend, Abby Rosenbaum.

November 20, 1984—Mai Deirdre Valentine is born in Domino City to Hillary and Bennett Valentine. She is, however, the biological daughter of Hillary Valentine and David Muto. David is aware of his daughter’s existence but knows to vie for custody would be impossible.

October 7, 1987—Noah Gozaburo Kaiba is born to Gozaburo and Charlotte Kaiba. He is their only biological child.

October 25, 1987— Seto James Delaney is born to Richard and Adina Delaney in Domino City. He is the future Seto Kaiba (duh!).

January 25, 1988—Joseph Aaron Wheeler is born to Jake and Elizabeth Wheeler. He is their first child.

February 22, 1988—Lisa Angela Hammond is born in Kansas City, Missouri. She is adopted by Darren and Gigi Hammond of Kirkland, Washington (Jedi League timeline).

Kisara Angela Jenkins is born in Kansas City, Missouri to a teenage couple. (Whisper/ Summer Love, Summer Fears timeline)

February 28, 1988— Duke Rupert Devlin is born in Domino, but raised in San Francisco and Las Vegas.

April 19, 1988— Tristan Jesse Taylor is born to Sam and Amanda Taylor.

June 4, 1988—Yugi David Muto is born to David and Abby Muto.

August 11, 1988— Teá Heather Gardner is born to Benjamin and Rose Gardner.

September 2, 1988— Bakura Jason Ryo is born to Kenneth and Sylvia Ryo in London, England. He is their first child.

November 20, 1989— Serenity Jayne Wheeler, Joey’s little sister, is born. She has an eye condition that will eventually threaten her sight.

1991—Kisara Jenkins is adopted by Darren and Gigi Hammond. She is their second child and younger sister of Edward “Eddie” Hammond.

Early summer 1991— David and Abby Muto die in a car accident along with Melissa Tsubaki, a young woman in the employ of Hillary and Bennett Valentine, and her unborn child. Yugi goes to live with his grandfather and meets three-year-old Teá Gardner. The little children become fast friends.

July 7, 1994—Mokuba Richard Delaney, the future Mokuba Kaiba, is born. His mother dies of a catastrophic tear in the uterine wall, leaving Richard Delaney to raise his two boys alone.

1996— 12-year-old Mai Valentine is molested by Bennett Valentine. (Whisper timeline) Author’s note: In the Jedi League timeline, Mai is in fact raped. Either way, it does her great psychological damage.

Summer of 1998—Elizabeth Wheeler, having been brutalized by her husband, files for divorce. He threatens to kill her and their children if she takes Joey along with Serenity. She acquiesces, knowing that she has no proof of abuse against the children. Joey and Serenity are separated; they don’t see each other again for a long time. (Jedi League timeline –2003) (Whisper timeline—2006)

Fall, 1998— Richard Delaney drives off the Domino Bay Bridge and is killed on impact with the water. Mokuba and Seto are sent to an orphanage after their mother’s sister and her husband refuse to care for them.

1999— Noah Kaiba is driven into an irreversible coma after an accident at the Kaiba Corporation Weapons Testing Facility in Domino. Gozaburo downloads his son’s mind into a computer system, much to his wife’s horror. She attempts to leave him, but is found dead a few days later. Not long after, Gozaburo Kaiba comes to the Domino Children’s Home as a publicity stunt. Seto Delaney challenges Gozaburo to a chess game and wins, the prize being that the CEO will adopt Seto and Mokuba, no questions asked.

Zane Brian Truesdale, Atticus Lee Rhodes and Yusuke Fujiwara are born in Domino.

1999-2000— Seto and Mokuba live through what they later refer to as “the year of Hell” under Gozaburo Kaiba’s harsh “tutelage.” Shortly after Seto’s 13th birthday, Seto attempts a takeover with the help of the board of directors and Mokuba. Gozaburo finds out about the plan, but is thwarted when Mokuba gives his 2 percent of the company shares to his brother. Gozaburo commits suicide and unbeknownst to his adoptive sons, downloads his mind into the same computer that Noah now inhabits. Seto James Kaiba becomes the head of Kaiba Corporation and begins an immediate restructure. The company is converted to a gaming corporation.

January 17, 2001— Jaden Kiyo Yuki is born in Domino City to Jayda and Hisoka Yuki.

February 16, 2001— Syrus Aidan Truesdale is born in Domino City to Darla and William Truesdale. He is their second child and the younger brother of Zane.

March 14, 2001— Bastion William Misawa is born at Great Ormand Street Hospital in London, England. He is the only child of Katai and Hiro Misawa.

March 18, 2001— Alexis Harper Rhodes is born to Jean Louise “Scout” and Jack Rhodes in Domino City. She is their second child and the younger sister of Atticus.

August 11, 2001—Charles Xavier “Chazz” Princeton is born in Domino City, the third child of Amelia and Ron Princeton.

September 2001— Amelia Princeton dies of aggressive cancer.

2002— Yugi Muto completes the Millennium Puzzle and strange things begin to happen.

February 16, 2002— Anne Charlotte Hanson, better known as Annie, is born to Kathy and Alex Hanson in Bellevue, Washington. She is their second child. (Summer Love, Summer Fears/ Love Through Lifetimes timeline)

March 2, 2002—Tyson Schwarzkopf Hassleberry, later known as Tyranno, is born to Dean and Lily Hassleberry in their bedroom in Crawford, Texas.

May 7, 2002—Rosa Terelina Jimenez is born in Calientara, Spain to Jose and Josefina Jimenez. She is their sixth child and only daughter. (Summer Love, Summer Fears/ Love Through Lifetimes)

July 20, 2002—Violet Angeline Haverbrook is born to Alan and Barbara Haverbrook in Cleveland, Ohio. She is their second child. (Summer Love, Summer Fears/Love Through Lifetimes)

August 11, 2002—Ron Princeton makes a suicide attempt as a result of depression from losing his wife. It takes him two days to die and his older sons, Slade and Jagger, take this very hard. This might be the cause of their later poor treatment of their brother, Chazz. (Summer Love, Summer Fears timeline)

Late 2002— Kisara Hammond suffers a near-nervous breakdown toward the end of her medical internship at Seattle’s Children’s Hospital. She was the youngest medical doctor in modern memory and appears to have temporarily gone too far beyond her limits. She takes a few months off to recover. (Whisper)

June 2003— Seto Kaiba hires Lisa Hammond as his personal doctor. A few days later, he duels Solomon Muto and then Yugi Muto and loses to the latter. The resulting loss sends him into a form of depression. (Jedi League)

Late August- Early September 2003—Yugi Muto and his friends enter their sophomore year of high school.

Maximillian Pegasus kidnaps Yugi’s grandfather’s soul with the aid of the Millennium Eye. The billionaire artist at the same time launches the Duelist Kingdom tournament to determine who will hold the title, King of Games.

The Kaiba Corporation board of Directors, Adrian Krump, William Gansley, Albert Lechtor, Charles Nezbit and Gerald Johnson attempt a hostile takeover of Kaiba Corp with Max Pegasus’s help. This requires Seto Kaiba’s murder. Mokuba Kaiba is kidnapped.

Yugi Muto wins the Duelist Kingdom Tournament, retrieving his grandfather’s soul and the Kaiba brothers. He duels Rebecca Hawkins and surrenders for his own reasons. A short time later, the Kaiba Corp board of directors makes another attempt on their employers’ lives. The attempt fails and the board eventually dies. (Original timeline/ Jedi League)

Mokuba Kaiba, Seto Kaiba and Lisa Hammond each get the flu in succession. Seto and Lisa fall in love, bending to a mutual attraction begun when he hired her. (Jedi League)

Mid-September 2003—Mokuba Kaiba is kidnapped and nearly killed by Kemo Jensen, a Kaiba Corporation and Industrial Illusions former employee. Kemo dies when the police are forced to shoot him. (Jedi League)

Joey Wheeler is nearly killed when his father beats him badly in a drunken rage. (Jedi League)

Jacob Wheeler, father of Joey and Serenity, kills himself after attempting to kill Joey and Lisa Hammond in front of the hospital. (Jedi League)

Mai Valentine discovers the truth about her lineage. (Jedi League)

October 18, 2003— Seto Kaiba and Lisa Hammond marry. (Jedi League)

November 8, 2003— Lisa Kaiba discovers that she is pregnant. (Jedi League)

January 7, 2004— Alister Stoyanovich, part of the Paradius organization, makes an attempt on Lisa and Mokuba Kaiba’s lives. Though Mokuba and Lisa survive the attempt, Lisa loses the baby. (Jedi League)

February 18, 2004— Lisa attempts suicide at the Kaiba mansion, but Teá Gardner stops her using telekinetic abilities. (Jedi League)

Fall 2004— Serenity Wheeler begins dating Duke Devlin. (Jedi League)

February 14, 2005— Serenity discovers, in a rather spectacular fashion, that Duke is cheating on her. She runs to Tristan Taylor for comfort. The Jedi League girls devise a punishment. (Jedi League)

February 15, 2005— Duke Devlin is forced to stand in the center of town wearing a sandwich board and the infamous dog suit while Lisa Kaiba, Mai Valentine, Serenity Wheeler and Teá Gardner sing a new version of the Cell Block Tango. Duke apologizes to Serenity and though they resolve to remain friends, she chooses to move on. One week later, she begins seeing Tristan. (Jedi League)

Late February-March 2005— Mako Tsunami, Rebecca Hawkins, Sigfried and Leon Von Schroeder join the Jedi League. (Jedi League)

2005— Kisara Hammond, fully recovered from her breakdown, comes to Domino to work at Domino Children’s Hospital. Her father becomes the dean of the College of Humanities at a nearby faith-based university. (Whisper)

Summer 2005-- Bakura Ryou goes on a trip across Europe and Asia.

(At this point there will not be mention of the Jedi League timeline, though it is planned out. I don’t want spoilers.

February 2006— Battle City Tournament

Early March 2006— Yugi, Joey, Teá and Tristan take a trip to India and get caught up in a possibly deadly game of Capsule Monsters.

Late March 2006—The Orichalcos crisis and the Grand Championship.

April 2006—Yugi and his friends travel to Egypt, helping Pharaoh Atem to cross over into the next world.

June 3, 2006— Yugi Muto and his friends graduate from Domino High School.

June 12, 2006— Yugi, depressed from Atem leaving, decides to take his own life. Joey Wheeler manages to find him, and the King of Games lives. (Whisper)

June 13, 2006— Joey’s father dies in a police action. (Whisper)

August 24, 2006— Joey Wheeler and Mai Valentine get married. (Whisper)

January 17, 2007— Jaden Yuki celebrates his sixth birthday and his father gives him the Yubel card.

2007— Jaden finds that dueling with Yubel is dangerous because she gets very angry when he loses. Eventually, when he wins a Duel Monsters design contest, he sends Yubel up in space with the rest of them, hoping she’ll get better. Unfortunately, the energy she encounters in space causes her harm. Jaden hears her and is nearly driven crazy. Yubel is driven crazy by the pain and determines that she must get back to Jaden.

Jayda Yuki develops a form of breast cancer that necessitates a hysterectomy. Meanwhile, Jaden is placed in the Domino Children’s Hospital for treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and his nightmares. The result of this treatment is that he loses the ability to communicate with his duel spirits, an ability he will not regain until he attends Duel Academy. (Summer Love, Summer Fears timeline)

October 2007— Seto and Kisara get married.

2008— Mai Wheeler gives birth to Angela Serenity Wheeler.

Kisara Kaiba gives birth to Noah and Serena “Rini.”

The following preview is for all audiences... (Flashes of Jaden and Alexis from the first year, up to the second year...) They were two students from different worlds. He was the classic slacker, while she was the consummate good student. And one fateful duel brought them together. (Jaden's voice) "I think I'm in love!"
