My update schedule is sporadic. I used to post regularly but it all depends on time and inspiration which I am lacking in both. I hope to get back in the swing of things, but honestly, I may update a fic every other month.

On a separate note, I take reviews seriously, so if you have constructive feedback, I will do my best to act on it. Speaking of critiques, numerous reviews for "A Little Wake-up Call" are prompting a complete overhaul of the fic when I have time to work on it. I will be going back to address the abundant grammatical and syntactical errors, as well as some characterizations issues. As such, I will likely not update that fic until completing the overhaul.

UPDATE on overhaul--I am up to chapter 6 in the overhaul, but will not upload the edited chapters until I have the first ten finished and have gone back through the first three chapters to perfect. After that, the overhaul should be fairly straightforward and take less time. I don't want to post ch 46 until I have finished the overhaul in case there are changes which need to be reconciled there. I have not given up on this fic and am constantly working on it still, bu this is a slow process. Thank you for your patience. sincerely, DC 10/22/2017

My one-shots will remain one-shots but others are welcome to continue them if they so desire. Usually they were plot ideas or what if scenarios that interested me but that I did not want to continue writing. I have finished three of my fanfics, though I'm debating on making a companion piece for "Gaining Closure." All other stories are works in-progress. "The Tale of Day and Night," an LOTR-Naruto crossover, branches off after a point into "Night without Day" and "The Journey of Day and Night."

I confess, I don't work on "Escape the Hell" or "Escape" much anymore (or at all in the latter's case) because I go to a toxic place when I work on those fics. I wrote them in part because I was hurting from my father's alcoholism, and writing stories where fathers were the villain was how I coped. I am trying to work on my relationship with my father, but in both those fics there's no hope for the fathers in it, and I want to move past that place of negativity.

This is consequently why I will always keep working on the Tale of Day and Night sequels. There is a fairly healthy father-child relationship in those stories, so I genuinely enjoy working on those fics because...well, its healthy for me. I will keep working on it even if the updates are not that frequent and become yearly updates. Part of the reason for the current lack of updates for that fic arises from how much I want to rework the last few chapters but don't have the energy (the changes I would make would impact where the story goes to some extent so I can't just slog through it).

"Batman Beyond--X" will also be updated at some point and return to a monthly update schedule because it is another fic where I try to make a healthy father-child relationship. (I know the relationships in these fics aren't actually all that healthy, but I'm a child of an alcoholic so they're all a hell of a lot better than what I've been dealing with my whole life--sorry if that's TMI but keeping shit like that secret is toxic for yourself and family). So that's my writing in a nutshell :)
