January 28, 2011: With regard to my new avi, that's my new Westie puppy, Moira Kathleen, commonly known as Katie. She came from Westie Rescue for whom I've been doing a lot of volunteer work lately. BTW, if you're thinking of adopting a canine companion, please consider a shelter or rescue dog. They really do make wonderful pets. But whatever you do, please, please, please. . . Never, ever, ever buy a dog from a pet store! This only encourages puppy mills, the tragic results of which I've seen far too often over the past 8 months. - Cassandra

January 6, 2011: First and foremost, Happy New Year! Second, in response to those who have been asking for more stories, I don't have any immediate plans to write more fanfiction as I've been very busy with other writing projects as well as that other major waste of time called life. March 19, 2010: I want to apologize to many of you for not responding to reviews. I've been dealing with a lot of personal issues over the past few months, including the death of my beloved West Highland Terrier, Charlie, who died on 12 March at the relatively young age of 8 (that's him in my avi, with his fur-sister, Belle, peeking round the corner of the tree - Belle is missing Charlie too and grieving deeply in her own way). I do read all your reviews and appreciate them very much, but I haven't been up for any writing in a long while. Thank you so much for continuing to read and enjoy my stories. Your comments always give me a lift and help to brighten a fairly dark time in my life. - Cassandra

March 16, 2009:I thought I'd better update this page for the sake of anyone who may be wondering where I've gone and where I'm going. I am alive and well, but for the foreseeable future I will be focusing on non-Harry Potter fiction. I am hard at work on a novel that's been in the back of my mind for a number of years. By some miracle, it's going very well so it may be awhile before I get back to fanfiction. But I did want to thank everyone who has read my stories and send a huge cyber-hug to all those who took the time to review them. It's primarily because of you that I have the confidence to move ahead with what appears, so far at least, to be something that may very well see publication. I plan to keep this account open and will try to post occasional updates, but please feel free to PM me if you have questions or just want to say "Hi!" I love you all. Take care!

Call me Cassandra. I'm a fourth-generation Coloradan, the mother of a grown son who flies for Sky West Airlines, a writer, former editor, and amateur astrologer with a strong interest in history and a mild addiction to politics. I've helped run several political campaigns and have been asked to run for office myself, which I briefly considered in all seriousness before sobering up and coming to my senses. I enjoy reading, especially mysteries, biographies, and well-written romances, as well as (of course!) the Harry Potter books. I am owned by two dogs, a Westie (Charlie) and Sheltie (Belle) with whom I enjoy going for long walks. I also enjoy gardening, listening to classical music and jazz, and lately, writing fanfics. I have been a card-carrying member of WCAWLHPTM (Women of a 'Certain Age' Who Love Harry Potter Too Much) for some time, but only recently discovered fanfics and started writing them in an effort to overcome a bad case of writer's block.
