Take = Bamboo (Japanese)
"...in spite of wind and storm the bamboo exhibits amazing flexible elasticity. In winter it bears heavy snow. Though it bends it does not fall down. It swings at the time of the storm yet when it is over, the bamboo return back to a straight position." --Frank Chuman, The Bamboo People: The Law and Japanese-Americans
Because I'm starting to realize just how much stuff I've written, and I wanted a place to store it - being that I'm too lazy to work on my webpage.
"I like working with dead people. They're infinitely better to get along with." ~~Take, upon being asked why she spends so much time in the bone lab.
"If the law has made you a witness, remain a (wo)man of science. You have no victim to avenge, no guilty of innocent person to convict or save - you must bear testimony within the limits of science." -- Dr. P.C.H. Brouardel, 19th century French medico-legalist
I'm a second year grad student working towards an MA in physical anthropology. Focus/interests in forensics, skeletal biology/pathology, paleopathology, prion diseases, genetics as applied to physical anthropology, Japanese history: pre-modern/Tokugawa Japan and the culture of nanshoku. I'm interested in seeing if I can apply physical anthropological techniques towards the enrichment of Tokugawa period historiography. I'd love hear from others who share my interests.
Most of my time is spent working or studying, so please don't be offended if I haven't gotten back to you. My aol account munches emails monthly, and if I don't sift through my mail in time I'll never know about it. (Thus, I've gotten a yahoo account so my mail will hopefully be stored).
To be honest, I don't really have time to watch anime or read manga anymore, let alone write fanfiction. Eventually I plan on finishing watching/reading X, Flame of Recca, and HunterxHunter. This I hope will be done by the time I've got my Master's. (ahahahahahaha...)I've got a few fics aging on paper and on disk at the moment; I'll upload when I'm satisfied with them - which might not be for a while, since my writing has gotten very dry...not a bad thing when you're supposed to be presenting only fact, but hell on your creative side.
