![]() Hey peeps, So, I have been reading fanfiction for years now. I used to write at the beginning, but I have stopped. As for the reading, well I have started to slowly cut back on it. Anywho, I'd like to think I like a wide range of stories that are out there. I started out with the angst, but have started to enjoy humour and a story, with a substantial plot, more. A couple of the things I dislike include: repetitve grammatical mistakes. I know some of you update in a hurry, and it's fine, if it is only a couple of mistakes. But if it s a great number, say 25 mistakes per chapter, then it is starting to get a teensy bit annoying. One of the most annoying mistakes is when the author write "defiantly" instead of "definately". Let me assure you, there is A HUGE difference between the meaning of the two words. It sort of distracts the readers when mistakes like that start to pop out of the page. Story-wise, I absolutely abhor it when Edward cheats on Bella. And if you are going to write a story about affairs, please make the characters realistic. The most common character flaw is when Bella forgives Edward almost instantaneously. Or she tends to forgive him because an accident happens. For example, because Edward's father is in a car accident, and Edward is hurting, so it is okay to forgive him, because he is obviously very sorry for what he has done to her. I actually don't know why some people like Bellas who are weak and have very little or no self-respect. Because I absolutely cannot stomach it. Nah-uh. Moving on, there are a couple of beautiful stories that I would love to shout out. 1. Set in Stone by psyche001. Edward is a gargoyle in this story. The author is writing the 3rd story in this trilogy. 2. Falling Beyond Redemption by Aleeab4u. This story is not for the faint of hearts, let me tell you, I cried a lot throughout the story. The story is very emotional and intense (for the lack of a better word). 3. Expectation and Other Moving Pieces (obviously very popular in the fandom). I just wish the author updated more regularly. And, I shall post the names of other stories up, when I remember them. Til then. |
