About My Writing
My writing style has been very... unsettled over the years. I like to think this is because it's taken me time to settle into my zone, but I'm not convinced I've actually done that yet.
That said I think - and this is mostly guess work - the style that suits me best is character-driven plots. A story is nothing without it's characters, and the thoughts, feelings and experiences of a story's protagonists are what make or break it for me. It goes without saying then that character development is very important. You're essentially telling the readers about a journey a character (or group of characters) has taken, and what they learned as a result. For a character to be the same at the end of a story as they were at the start is just pointless to me. They have to change; to have it any other way is not only boring, it's unrealistic.
Anyway, because I tend to favour the aspects of a story involving characters and their development (and dialogue! I love writing dialogue!), I sometimes neglect everything else. Scene setting, description... things like that take a back seat in my stories. It's something I'm working on, but it's hard when I find it so dull.
Iron Rose: Still going. I don't know when it'll be updated though. Too much else is happening for me to make any promises just now. Be patient!
Nothing yet. A few ideas here and there, but I really just want to concentrate on my baby (see above) before I let my mind wander on to other things.
