Author has written 10 stories for Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, Big Bang Theory, Harry Potter, Worm, Ironman, Stargate: SG-1, Avengers, and A Certain Scientific Railgun/とある科学の超電磁砲. Hello everyone, Things have finally calmed down and I am starting to write again. It is a wonderful feeling. Lately, I have been completely fascinated by Veronica Mars and the Big Bang Theory, having watched them four times each in total. Contrast this with having watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer twelve times completely through. I love the character of Veronica. Flawed, vulnerable, yet at the same time as prickly as one of those West Texas prickly pears, she is an awesome character. I also love Penny, who while not knowledgeable about physics, knows more about life and living than Leonard and Sheldon combined. I currently have five stories posted. The are: Secrets and Lies: A Father Daughter Story This is a Veronica Mars story. VM is one of my favorite shows right up there with BtVS and Firefly.Kennedy the Vampire Slayer Season One I'll tell you a little secret. This is my favorite story that I have written. I took a bunch of minor characters that the show's writers scrapped and tried to make them relevant. It's a lot of fun and a companion piece to LELB.The Alternate Beginning Juxtaposition Not a pain and angst story. After rewatching TBBT for the fourth time from beginning to end, I was inspired to write a story with my favorite couple from the show Leonard and Penny. Forgive as I have Leonard avoid some of the pitfalls of the show and give the two of them a true romance.Life's Ending, Life's Beginning In many ways, I consider this my masterpiece. I changed the character of Buffy through tragedy, true, but also by giving her a different life and a sense of hope for the future. Cali is my favorite character.Resurrection My stab at writing a HP story. I have read a million of them but was unwilling to throw my hat in. This is my attempt. It's dark and disturbing and will feature redemption as a central issue.I hope you read and enjoy. I certainly enjoy getting all of this stuff out of my head. I apologize ahead of time for how rough it is. I haven't been using a beta reader since writing this, mostly just free handing everything. What means is I just sit down and write what the characters tell me. So far, it has worked. If the story gets too complex, I may run into trouble. I have read a few writers here who motivated me to write Veronica Mars: jenwin23 and her stunning Truth Series. VanessaGalore with her wonderfully complex Year of Living Dangerously Series. MLP with the fantastic A Life Extraordinary and accompanying Venus and Mars. So many others who I have been reading lately also inspired me. You can tell who they are because they listed under my favorite stories. I've read too many Harry Potter stories to list just a few for inspiration. See my favorites for what inspires. Couples There are a few couples in fanfiction that I prefer over all others. My favorite is Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. I consider them the greatest couple in fanfiction and it takes a hell of a well written story to persuade me otherwise. Ron with Hermione annoys the hell out of me and I could never see them working. Harry and Ginny were equally as bad since she was chasing his fame the entire time. Both are examples of how bad JKR is at writing romance. I won't get into any of the more unusual pairings like Snape and Hermione or Draco and Hermione as I don't read those stories and don't feel like throwing up in my mouth. As far as Harry goes, I can read a good Luna or Daphne pairing or even Susan Bones. All have many of the characteristics that Harry seeks in a mate, although they lack the unending loyalty that Hermione has always shown. My second is Logan Echolls and Veronica Mars. Their story is every bit as epic as Logan could have ever wished. Every time I watch the balcony scene at the Camelot my breath catches and I know that I am seeing the start of something great. Third is definitely Buffy Summers and Xander Harris. Though they were never together on the show, they should have been. Angel was never a good fit for Buffy, pulling her deeper into the darkness. For Xander, you never felt that anyone he was paired with, even Cordelia, evoked the same passion and tenderness he felt for Buffy. Last, I love Penny and Leonard Hofstadler. They are such a contrast in character and interests, but they work. I could never get into Penny and Sheldon, even though Sheldon is my 2nd favorite character on the show after Penny. I like him, but I recognize the flaws that make him and Penny an impossible couple. Despite flashes of sweetness, Sheldon is selfish, unforgiving, intellectually arrogant, and cruel. He would drive most normal people insane, and I give Leonard kudos for sticking with him all of these years after Sheldon saved his life. Other thoughts: I am not a fan of slash and will never write it. To me, making such a fundamental change to someone is tantamount to writing a Mary Sue or Marty Stu character. Having a character decide out of nowhere to go through life line dancing wherever they are or to eat the brains of babies wouldn't be any greater of a change than that. So whether you like a line dancing Harry, a brain eating Hermione, or a gay Xander, my stuff wouldn't be for you. |
