Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter, and Game of Thrones. Hello to everyone showing up on my profile. I'm only beginning to publish my first story, both on Ao3 and here. While I've written many more fics, i've never found the motivation to take them to the end, and to be honest, thank god. What I wrote a year ago when I began my journey into writing was awful. I'm hoping this one is better, but I might be biased ;) So for this first fic, it's a crossover HPxAsoiafxGot (as i'm taking elements from both the show and books). The pairing is still to be decided. Don't hesitate to leave review if you like it, it keeps me going, the same goes if you have any suggestion for the fic or any way in which I can improve my writing. What I like reading I mostly read fics from the Harry Potter fandom, though I also appreciate the ASOIAF, PJO and the 100. I love crossovers with Harry Potter going to asoiaf universe. I mostly read Harry Potter centric though a few other povs are always appreciated when done well. I prefer fics starting either post-hogwarts or in the later years as those starting earlier are rarely good in my opinion, especially when all they do is following the book's plot points, I mean just read the books if you don't want to change anything but the pairing. For pairings, in HP : I enjoy Harry/Ginny (when done better than in the movies or even books), Harry/Daphne (but no Ice Queen trope, what are you 12?), Harry/Fleur or Gabrielle, Harry/Susan and I always enjoy a Harry/Katie pairing, although they always end up horribly. In PJO: I honestly don't have preferred pairing though Percy/Talia is often more fun. In Asoiaf : there are too many characters to count, but when I read a jon centric, I prefer Dany or Margaery. In the 100 : honestly is there another pairing worth reading about than Clexa? I don' think so. What I dislike reading (and thus don't read) Fics that genderswap the main hero, again mostly Harry, I think it's almost always female writers that can't figure out how to write a male hero, and I mean if you don't know how to do that, how to put yourself in someone else's shoes, you shouldn't write (it's possible some male writers have the same issue but I've never encountered it). Also fics that switch the sexual orientation of any characters, it's again the same issue and there is plenty of gay/bi/straights people in each universe to have your fun with it if you want a gay or bi romance, just use Dumbledore or Nico Di Angelo or any of the countless characters in Grrm's work that have a different sexual orientation. Once again, for me it's a sign of a clear lack of skill. There are many tropes I hate in Harry Potter fanfiction, all the bashing that goes on for Dumbledore or the Weasleys. Jk's caracters are complex human beings like you or I, the only ones that are truly evil are the death eaters. Same goes for Snape, he is often pictured as a poor guy who got bullied and turned bad because of it, this is not the case. Snape is an asshole, he likes to bully children, when he approached Dumbledore to switch sides, he was told that he was a disgusting human being, he is, but he is capable of redemption, as most of us are. I too, loved the performance of Alan Rickman (rip), but it doesn't change the fact that Snape was a horrible person. I hate it when twelve years old talk like you were in a Marcel Proust novel, or when they do politics between Potion and Transfiguration, I mean really? Its ridiculous. In terms of pairing, I never read Harmony fics, Hermione is often pictured as the perfect character, always right, not a flaw on the horizon, and often completely condescending towards Harry, I mean have you people even read the books? She's bossy, a know it all and she has a very dangerous side. And I love her character for it, I mean cursing a traitor with pimples? Genius! But never would she make a good couple with Harry, they'd end up murdering each other. What I like to write : My prefered universe is Harry Potter, though as you can see I'm not against crossovers, in fact I love them and given the low number of them that there is (that are readable) and that they are almost all abandoned, I decided to write my own, I would like to never leave a fic unfinished, it's always a disappointment when it happens so I'll strive not to abandon it. You won't see me writing fics in only Asoiaf or PJO universe, it'll always be in crossovers. I prefer writing an older Harry, either beginning fifth year or later, it offers me a bit more freedom to move around. I've been working on a particular fic with Harry/Ginny pairing that begins at the moment Voldemort falls dead, where Harry and co will have to uncover a conspiracy and a secret society that has for aims to secure the deathly hallows, I've written 6 chapters so far (about 50k words). I am far from ready to begin posting it but I will one day. I don't think it's a good idea to write two fics at the same time, but every so often I need to change otherwise it drives me crazy. I do not accept requests, if you want to write a fic, do it. There is no better way to progress than to write, even if you don't post, I began writing three years ago, during covid, and gosh, it was awful but I'm glad I did. Update 21 August 2023 Hi to all those reading this, in case you hadn't seen my previous explanation as to what's going on with Dragon of the Morning. I wrote a first version of the fic which I had lot of issues with, namely it was too much of a one man's show, which I think is too unrealistic for what Aemon wants to do, there were a few plot holes and mistakes as well so I decided to re-write it. So far I've written 15 chapters (10 posted) of this new version and I'm far more confident with what I want to do, expect an update every week until the second week-end of September, then it's going to depend on how fast I can write and I have decided to keep two chapters in advance as I often need to make small adjustments. I'll try to keep it to at least one update a month but it really depends on how much I write, there are days I can write a thousand words in a hour, and days not a single word will come out. To all those leaving reviews, I appreciate them all, I'm sorry I can't take the time to answer, otherwise I wouldn't be doing much writing... And I think everyone prefers I write the fic rather than answers to the glowing reviews you guys write |
