Hallo, my name is Alex. I am an English literature and film studies graduate from Aberdeen University, currently working as a school teacher. I am a great fan of books and films, particularly the Harry Potter series, Watership Down and The Secret of NIMH, among others. When I discovered fanfiction.net, I was presented with this golden opportunity to take part in writing and sharing alternate stories with other fans of my favourite works. Welcome to my little kingdom of fanfiction!
My avatar: That's me, during my visit to Watership Down in 2010, standing on the edge of the northern summit. You can also see my WD copy under my arm.
Disclaimer: I thank deeply the respected authors and copyright owners for letting me borrow characters and other material from their works, which inspired my fanfics. I own none of the original material and absolutely no copyright infringement is intended from this work. The sole purpose of fanfiction is the pleasant experience of writing and sharing it with other fans, and hopefully promoting the original works. Enjoy and PLEASE REVIEW!
Notice to all readers: The release dates and plotlines for the stories below might change! Also, I will only go ahead with them according to the level of interest from the readers; please review, to encourage me to continue.

The Lion King; Into the Pride trilogy by Kurt Wylde 42: My favourite Lion King fanfic series. Inspired me to start my own LK series. Kurt Wylde 42 is also another key reviewer of my work. His stories are well worth a read for any LK fan!

Watership Down; The New World: One minute, drunken widower Dr Alan Johnson and his companions are on a flight to New Forest. The next, they are huddled forward through time to the 28th century; a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by giant talking rabbits just like described in the tale of Watership Down. Armed with his familiarity of the story and his 21st century academic knowledge, he sets out to solve the riddle as to how the world in a storybook could have become reality, replacing the extinct mankind, which might mean confronting his own dark past, including the unknown murderer of his wife and daughter… (complete)
Watership Down; Tales of the New World: A mini-sequel to New World, including a collection of six chapter-length deleted scenes, plus an epilogue chapter set many years later where an aged Alan returns to London and reunites with Drake in his apartment, shortly before the Apocalypse, with news on the future. (complete)
Watership Down; Beyond the New World: In 2012 Jamie McEwan went looking for his missing father. His search takes him on a journey into the far future, where he encounters a world of gigantic talking rabbits. Follow him on his adventures, as he tries to pick up his father's trail, while seeking a new home for himself and his rabbit companions. Meanwhile, four years after the battle of Efrafa, the rabbits of WD encounter a new threat as well as a mysterious visitor... Sequel to New World. (in progress)
The Lion King; Pride of Humanity: In 1912 explorer Richard Van Owen went looking for a mysterious plateau in the heart of the Sahara and disappeared. In 1917, his twin brother Captain Harry Van Owen and his men escape from the Western Front by balloon and find themselves stranded on an isolated plateau in the heart of the Sahara, a world of intelligent talking lions. When the King is assassinated by a traitor in the Pride, Harry finds himself in charge of the banished Prince. Can he help Simba reclaim his throne and punish the murderer of his father, who will stop at nothing to retain power...? Uses elements out of Jules Verne's Mysterious Island. (in progress)
NIMH; Planet of the Rats: In the near future, the research space station NIMH-1 is sent to explore the star system of Alpha Centauri, to conduct terraforming experiments. When they encounter a mysterious storm-like vortex, space pilot Josh Anderson is sent to investigate. His pod vanishes into the vortex, only to crash-land onto a habitable planet on the other side, dominated by giant talking rats and mice, which view humans as a threat. Stranded and struggling to evade capture by the ruthless General Jenner, he is taken in by the good-hearted widow mouse Mrs Brisby and her family. While struggling to regain contact with the NIMH-1, Josh doesn't realise that it might be already too late for rescue and that his future probably lies on this new world... Follows along the lines of Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes. (in progress)
My future stories (spoiler warning!):
Watership Down; End of the New World: In 2013, Neil Coyle is shot and falls into a deep coma; he awakens in 2041 in a deserted and ruinous London... Meanwhile, in 2799, the planet Apocalypse is on a return trajectory that will soon bring it into a catastrophic collision with the Earth. But what if the doomed Earth still has a chance of being saved by changing the events of the past, which might mean a direct confrontation with the notorious General Hemlock, just before he is about to wage war against El-ahrairah and humanity... Sequel to Beyond and the third instalment in my Watership Down The New World series. (est. release date 2014)
Watership Down; After the New World: The fourth and final instalment in the Watership Down The New World series. Two hundred years after the Apocalypse Expedition, the world has become a corrupt unstable society of ruthless rabbit militias and rebelling enslaved humans, on the brink of war. The exploits of Alan Johnson and his friends are long since buried under the dust of history and suppressed. But what happens when a certain 1,000-year old astronaut from the past appears, bent on reviving his old friend’s legacy? Set in 3012 with all-new characters... (Plot and release date still to be announced)
The Lion King; Pride of Humanity II: Following the events in Pride of Humanity, Harry is living happily with his lion family. But the peace is brought under threat with the arrival of a suspicious expedition to the plateau, as well as the dark ambitions of Zira and the rest of Scar's exiled minions, who are seeking vengeance... Can the Pride survive the threat of the Outsiders and remain hidden from civilisation? (full plot and release date still to be announced)
The Lion King; Pride of Humanity III: In 1997, Harry’s great-nephew is flying a mining shipment from Nairobi to Algiers. After crash-landing his Skytruck in a sandstorm over the desert, he finds himself stranded on a mysterious plateau, inhabited by talking lions, similar to the stories surrounding his great uncle. While struggling to construct a new aircraft out of the wreckage of the old, he sets out to restore peace between the Pride Lands ruled by an old, ineffective king, and a pride of threatening, savage rogues ruled by a bloodthirsty leader that will stop at nothing… Set in the universe of the LK with elements and characters from Flight of the Phoenix and Pride. Final instalment in the LK trilogy (release date still to be announced).
NIMH; Beyond the Planet of the Rats: Ten years after the NIMH-1 mission, the Rats of NIMH-Beta have perfected their new technological civilisation. Josh Anderson and his mouse family are living happily, until Josh's would-be rescue ship, the NIMH-Two appears out of the time vortex. Onboard the abandoned, ghost spaceship, they discover a certain mouse girl escapee from...Earth! Embarking on a rescue mission to his home planet, Jenny McBride leads Josh and the Brisby-Andersons back to a post-apocalyptic Earth, now inhabited by divided societies of intelligent rodents like the NIMH-Betans, and under the control of their presumed-dead old foe... Secret of NIMH-The Rescuers crossover. (release date still to be announced)
Man in Moominland: One minute, university student Martin Park is running from a thunderstorm in downtown Helsinki. Lightning strikes him and he finds himself mysteriously transported to the magical world of the Moomins, as described in the Tove Jansson novels. Is he dead, in a coma, or just plain mad? And will he ever find a way of getting back to his own world?
I am Legend; Dawn of the Dead: In 2012, the Krippin virus was unleashed upon the world, driving humanity to the brink of extinction. Several years later, survivor Neville Morgan is living in isolation in a derelict and ruinous London, hunted by the surviving zombie-like plague victims, ruled by the few still retaining their human intelligence. Nothing left to live for but his memories, his abandoned civilisation, and...hope? Can he trace the source of the virus and find the lost cure, before the last of the human race is wiped out? Will he become a legend of the living or the undead? I am Legend and Dawn of the Dead crossover, with all-new characters. (plot and release date still to be announced)
Suggested or alternate concept stories:

Ten years later, a second spacecraft is launched commanded by Captain Paul Conandale and his crew. When they crash on an Earth-like planet, they discover a world of talking lions... The Secret of NIMH; Reincarnation: An engineer at NIMH is struck on the head and falls into an irreversible coma; or so the world believes. Hank awakens reincarnated as a mouse on the Fitzgibbons farm, where he meets the Brisby family and the escaped rats of NIMH. Using his advanced human knowledge, he sets out to create a new life for himself and his new friends, while defending them from his old NIMH colleagues pursuing them. Unfortunately, a certain sly rat in the Nicodemus clan also wants to exploit Hank's knowledge for his own dark ends, even if it means threatening the life of a certain field mouse beauty, whose heart secretly beats for Hank... A proposed reboot of Lagomorphic Reincarnation, set in a different universe. Inspired from A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (est. release date summer 2013).
The Secret of NIMH II; The Quest: Several years after the founding of Thorn Valley, Hank is living happily with his family.
