Author has written 2 stories for One Tree Hill.
Well. It's been a long time, no? I have no excuses, other than writing's a fickle bitch, and I'm not on her good side at the moment. :(
But that's not why I'm here right now. I'm here because I've done a major overhaul to my profile, and while I thought I'd updated my profile at the same time, I'm finding that was an incorrect assumption, heh.
For the record, I've removed all my stories but In a Time of Need, and She Never Could Predict The Future. Why, you ask? Because I'm leaving FFNet. Well, more like migrating over to my LJ, but you get what I mean. I've removed all my other stories, and had intended on removing Need and Future as well, but couldn't do that to the readers. Need and Future still, to this day, receive new alerts for favorites or notifications, and they were my most popular stories when I was actively writing. I won't remove them until they're finished, and people have had a chance to read them through. I owe it to you guys. :)
So. Know that I haven't forgotten about my babies, and that I am still working towards completion for both. I imagine, come winter, that I'll have loads of free time on my hands, so who knows? Maybe the New Year will see mass updates, and completed stories, and Whoo! something to check off my To do list :D
If you decide you want to keep up with my progress, find me on LJ (search ariadnescurse) as I occasionally post updates to my page. Additionally, once the stories are finished, I'll post them to my LJ as well. And if you feel the need, by all means stop in and say hi!
OH, and the plead for a Beta still stands. If you'd be willing to help me out, let me know!
Clearly, whatever inspiration I found in Dec of 2009 left me high and dry. I was able to complete a few more chapter rewrites of Need but I'm holding onto them until I finish the whole piece. I'm also going to post them as a whole new story, since reading through the merged pieces managed to confuse even me, and I'm the frakking author. That doesn't bode well for readers. I'll be replacing the unedited chapters for the original Need and then posting a new entry for the revised edition. That is, of course, after I've managed to finish the piece.
That being said, I'm desperately, desperately seeking a beta for my work. I'm too close to the stories, and I know I'll start butchering the chapters up unless someone else can step in and help me rein it in. If you're interested, or know someone who is a beta and looking for more work, please PM/Email/IM me. Please.
Some edits done so far: I've reformatted my profile, and while I'm not ecstatic with it, I am happier. And I completely retyped the summaries. *cringe* How in the world did I think those things were acceptable before?!
After I finish Need and Future I will most likely stop posting FanFics. I'm more actively writing for my website, LJ comm, and FP account now, and I don't want to lose sight of those goals. That being said, if you find yourself curious where I'm at, or what I'm up to, visit my blog http : // overlady . blogspot . com/ (minus the spaces) to read updates.
I've been writing on and off for years now, and never had the guts to post something. Went in search of some definite girlie-movie-esque comfort, and came across this website. A week and a half later, I'm fully addicted to the stories and community that's been built here. I've posted my first fanfiction, a story from One Tree Hill, and I am slowly biting away the remnants of my finger nails as I anxiously await reviews, feedback, and postings from other authors who have hooked me as thoroughly on their stories as I hope to hook you on mine.
I live in the US, California to be more specific, and have been writing short stories and fiction novels since I could remember. I secretly adore the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and the Ya-Ya girls, and watch A Walk to Remember when no one's around so they wont laugh at me. I've learned that TBS is awesome for three am sleep deprived moments, as they are prone to chick flick marathons on the weekends.
Thanks to everyone who's stopping by, who's read my stories, and who's left a review. A story isn't a story without the reader to critique it. And a word is just a word until you turn it into a scene in your mind.
In A Time Of Need - In the four years since graduation, Brooke's tried to move on, and her friends want to respect that. But when the tables are turned and he's the one who needs saving, and she's the only one who can, Brooke has to dig deep, and save them both. This would be my first ever story posted to FF.net, and consequently my longest. It's also probably the most butchered, as I'm fairly certain I lost my plot bunny a little more than halfway through. I'm currently in rewrite on this story, so hopefully it'll come out a little more cohesive than when I first wrote it.
She Never Could Predict the Future - Six years and a lifetime of change later, Brooke's happy but alone. Trust Rachel to know how to fix that little problem. Trust Lucas to know how to turn Brooke's world upside down. Now it's up to Brooke to trust herself. I'm in love with this one. By far, my favorite, and the easiest for me to continue. I've put it on hold though until I finish Need, so for now, it's stuck where it's at. :(
