Welcome to my profile!
I'm more of a reviewer than a writer. When I write, I do it for my own enjoyment, about what I like and when I feel like it. I only to put up stories that I feel are the best I can do with the idea.
I came back from a quite long writing hiatus with my Alpha Centauri story, “The Conqueror”. Anything written before that is pretty old. I have considered taking most of them down, but they are part of my history. Besides, if the occasional person enjoys them, that's good enough for me. I have a soft spot for “Cornelian Marketing Strategy” and “Kidnapping by Prior Arrangement” though, despite their flaws.
I'm 23 and currently studying maths at university. Mathematics is is often viewed as an extremely difficult subject, but I think that is rather exaggerated. Also, I feel that the logical methods hold a certain beauty. One fun and easy to comprehend book on popular mathematics that I recommend is “Alex's Adventures in Numberland”.
I have two rabbits, Flocke and Leon. They completely dominate my life, but I love them.
I'm a progressive social democrat, a feminist and an environmentalist. I also firmly believe that the right to have an abortion is a human right, as it is the right to control one's own body.
I mostly play computer games nowadays, although my computer can't handle the high end ones.
My favourite game (and current obsession) is Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. The scope of the game is vast and the characters are fascinating. My favourite faction is the University, as you can see from my avatar. Sadly, the Alpha Centauri fandom seems pretty tiny.
I used to play a lot of video games too, particularly Nintendo series such as Mario and Zelda. However, I mostly stopped playing console games when I got the rabbits. I still occasionally use my DS, but barely since I started university.
Pokemon Yellow was the first video game that I really loved. I greatly enjoy Pokemon fanfics that focus on the world and the monsters rather than the humans. This is particularly true if the Pokemon are from the first three generations, as I've lost track since.
I also like tabletop role-playing games, particularly Ars Magica and Mage: the Ascension, but I rarely play.
I read a fair amount offline too, mostly non-fiction. One of my favourite authors is Carl Sagan, but he is one of many.
