Hi! I'm Charlotte.
Guess what! The lovely and talented DaddysGirl4EverAnd4Always1212 has made some awesome graphics for my stories! Isn't that super cool?! You guys can check them out here:
Let me get this out of the way right away: I like to think of myself as having discriminating taste. Some people may think of me as conceited. I'll be completely honest. I think there's a lot of HM fiction out there that's extremely poorly written. Predictable, shoddy plots. Uninspired characters. Generally unrealistic emotions. Riddled with basic spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax errors. And on and on... I try to write things that are different. Not everyone is a fan, and that's okay. But I'm just so sick of hearing the same junk over and over again. And I know I'm not the only one. Go check out the authors of my favorite stories. They're all on there because they're willing to think outside the box and write exciting pieces that don't exactly fit the mold of a lot of the stories out there. You know the ones I mean: a girl gets discovered at the mall, she tours with the Jonas Brothers, they fall in love with her, everyone gets ice cream. THE END. Things like that...
If you think those "copy and paste" things are incredibly annoying, copy and paste this into your profile...
Okay, let me just put something out there. I hate, hate, hate when authors try to blackmail readers into reviewing their stories. "I won't continue this story unless I get X more reviews!" No matter how amazing a story is, I refuse review it if the author has taken it hostage and is demanding a ransom. Everyone loves receiving approval and validation, but I don't think you should be writing solely for that purpose. I'm ecstatic when people tell me that they enjoy my writing and leave me nice reviews, but I promise I won't ever try to coerce you into it. Okay, I've said my peace.
If you ever realize that your story has multiple coma victims, stop and reevaluate...
Constructive criticism and flames ARE NOT the same thing. Flames are only meant to be mean. Constructive criticism is meant to be helpful. If you receive con-crit, don't feel bad. That reviewer wants to help you make your story better!
I've noticed this mistake in a LOT of stories, so let me take this time to give you a short lesson about pregnancy tests. Home pregnancy tests are based on the detection of a certain hormone that is nearly exclusive to pregnancy. (You don't have it in your body all the time.) Therefore, as long as you take the test properly (just follow the basic directions on the box) you CANNOT test a false positive. If the pregnancy test finds this hormone and says you're pregnant, you are. However, you CAN test a false negative. Meaning: if it's extremely early on in the pregnancy (before you've actually missed a period) the level of this hormone may not be high enough yet to set off the test. And in that case, it would probably only take a few days before there would be enough of the hormone for the test to be able to pick up on it. In conclusion... Positive = definitely pregnant. Unless you really SUCK at reading directions, you'd never take four tests and end up with two of each result. Trust me on this one, guys. I know a whole lot of baby junk. My mother is a midwife.
Haha, reading back over it, I think my profile makes me seem kind of "in your face." - But I'm really not :o) So how about something more fun?...
Couples I Like:
JoexLilly, Loe - Hands down, my absolute favorite.
Niley - Love it! (Added bonus: Anytime a story has Niley, there's a decent chance it'll also have Loe...)
KevinxAlmost Anyone - He's always so overlooked. I'll take what I can get!
Lackson - I love sidekick/comic relief characters, so this is a match made in Heaven.
Loliver - What else are they going to do while Miley's off with Jake?
Jiley - As long as Jake seems in character. I hate when all of a sudden he's just super overly mushy. He was a jerk, remember? You need to make him a little jerky, or else through character development explain to me why he isn't...
Couples I Don't Particularly Care For:
AnyonexAnnoying OC - Self-explanatory, right?
Anything incesty - Kind of weird and illegal...
Nilly - No, Lilly is too offbeat.
Lake - (That's Lilly/Jake, right?) See Nilly
Liley - Eh, I've read a couple good Liley's, but not really my thing
Moliver - Same as Liley's. I just never got too into it. (And if years of watching movies and TV have taught me anything, it's that the SIDEKICKS always end up quietly hooking up while the main character is off somewhere, busy with their monkeyshines...)
Moe - No. Simply put, it isn't Loe...
However, I'll read JUST ABOUT ANYTHING as long as it's well-written.
