![]() Author has written 4 stories for Wheel of Time, Harry Potter, and Terra Nova. Yo... Nice to see someone cares about me lol! Anyway... Things I love, if your going to be reading through my favorite lists: Aristocratic!Harry I just really want to see political pureblood stuff happen with Harry... Time Travel!Harryboth soul and body though I like it a lot more when Harry's older self travels back in time with his body so he's actually a different person. Non-blood Line Super!Naruto... I mean come on! Naruto is great because he's a rogue! He's not an aristocrat, and everyone looks down on him! He's someone I love to see forging his own path without expectations of anyone! Bad Ass!Voldemort... Voldemort and his death Eaters in J.K. Rowling's series are always useless, dumb and foolish. Give em a back bone! Pureblood and Elitest Society! They HP verse is ruled by an Oligarchy of Purebloods (The Wizengamot), why in the world is the rest of society so muggle based? Its absolutely ridiculous! Where are the clans? Wizards live a long time! Dumbledore is 150 for heaven's sake! All the clans should have grandfathers, and great-grandfathers. Along with the extra children they would have with the extra time... Yet none of that is around! Where are the high politics! Feuds? Be better than Rowling! Actually make a Wizarding World! Instead of giving muggles magic! Alternate Reality Travel!Harry: Whats not to like? Especially if he just travelled from a verse he just beat Volde in? Here is a Harry Potter who is powerful and intelligent. Will he rule the next coming world? Crossover! Harry: Same as above whats not to like!? I'll add to that though by saying I really like a Harry who actually prepares for leaving. With money and other stuff to really set himself up in the next world! Universe Expansion!Harry Potter Fanfiction: Seriously, ever wonder how the world works? What's going on in the Asian Wizarding World? Does the magical British Empire still exist? Is that why Cho Chang, and the Patil twins are at Hogwarts? How many Wizards are in Britain? Rowling said 30,000 are in Britain! How many are in the rest of the world? And why does Britain have so many foreign magicals attending their greatest school? Another one of Rowling short comings. Battles in the HP World!: Seriously, I know the magical world still fight duels but still, there is never, ever battle tactics that don't revolve one on one fights. I love fics that can see past that. Read Only Enemies, and Bellatrix and Harry are using two wands to simulaneously summon the other out of harms way! Flying around the battle field! I hate the plot of the story, but thats brilliant!! Imagine, 3-4 wizards using a similar strategy of looking out for one another. Imagine armies working on those principles! Brilliant! Gender Bias, Racial Bias Worlds! The Wizarding World is a medieval, patriarchal society! Yet these stigmas are hushed away only showing pureblood tendencies in canon. These should be shown! Narcissa for example doesn't speak the few times on stage. Its all about Lucius! I'm apalled that Rowling never had Hermione be utterly outraged by the fact that purebloods have submissive wives and that the wizarding world still passed property primarily to male heirs! Lord Malfoy!! Another example is that the only powerful woman portrayed in authority are leeches like Umbridge or Widows like Madam Longbottom, or Bones the head of the aurors or Mcgonnegal (I know I spelled that wrong)... The rest are low level aurors like Tonks, teachers with almost no lines in the story like Professor Sprout (Head of Hufflepuff)... Look at the prominent purebloods around in canon. Susan Bones? Shy, submissive. Daphne Greengrass? Isolated, non-talkative, I don't know if she speaks in canon lol. Pansy Parkinson? Tag along of Draco. Millicent Bulstrode? She doesn't really speak, and isn't important. All the truly dominant personalities are held by the men barring Ginny and Molly. And Molly is a housewife. While Ginny is a lovesick a puppy waiting for her Knight in Shining armour to sweep her off her feet. Racial issues are also non-existent. Racial slurs never seen in canon... Though in some ways this is understandable consider how much travel is available and for how long. And thus perhaps negligible. But still consider, the other ridiculous, non-evidenital prejeduice? There's no evidence for pureblood elitism being true and its still seen. How long have Wizards had to verify such an idea? And how long as it been around? Forever? Well at least since Salazer Slytherin! These worlds are always interesting to me. Independent!Harry: While not my favorite, favorites. You'll see quite a few of these. A lot of Harry gets Sirius' letter anyway... Seriously people DO NOT USE the letter from Dumbledore came to Harry to tell him its too dangerous to go to Sirius' will reading! Harry hasn't gotten a bank record, or letters from anyone from the Wizarding World since he was 11. How in the world did Gringotts get the message to Harry in the first place? By Owl? And if Harry got it by another means, Dumbles would never have heard of it... Please use rational level of thinking... And then people, don't use the enraged Harry bit after the letter. I don't think I've ever read a fic where Harry laughs after that letter... One! Seriously, after Gringotts' letter would Harry realize it then? Words I laugh at after Dumbles letter: Enraged. How dare Dumbledore... Couldn't believe it. And there many others... I'll do the heirship rant latter... Establishing Harry in a New World fanfiction! One of my favorites. Is when Harry establishes himself in the world with a new identity. I say new world meaning, he has a new world. His new identity strips him from having to be the boy who lived, and he can be anyone he wants. :P. Arranged Marriage! I love the idea... For fanfiction. Especially considering its pureblood world, and Harry is from a long line of purebloods. Though James' marriage wasn't arranged. A marriage with a Black was obviously arranged. And James' mother was a Black... Considering Bellatrix and Narcissa was probably arranged... I don't think that thought is flawed. However as for Arranged Marriages... I hate the fact that so many have the wife immediately fall head over heels for Harry... I mean honestly! Harem! You will see this in my favorites. But I'm not really a fan of such a thing. I can imagine dealing romantically with 2-3 women but even 1 woman is dangerously interesting for any man, how could you handle or even want so many? Obviously, you can utilize it simply by slavery or for political machinations but romantically? No... Just no... I have to say though that I am a fan of having a different wife for every noble family, Harry controls. For example a Black Wife and a Potter Wife... Political Alliances and heirdom for his children and stuff galore. Plus he's rich right? Who wouldn't want two gorgeous woman? One on each arm? Lol. Male fantasy, sorry Ladies. :P. Dark Lord Potter! YES!! Do I need a reason? Though I abstain from Evil! Harry... Just not my cup of tea... Things I Hate: Heir to All Founders + Merlin!Harry... Come on guys, Really? This doesn't even make sense! Gryfindor, Slytherin, Black and Peverell are the only families that actually make sense with canon. Gryfindor because he actually pulled the sword form the hat... Though if you use this, its much more likely that the Potters are the Gryfindor heirs and that there is no Gryfindor family... Slytherin: Because Voldemort marked Harry and he died, gives a right of perhaps heirship... Though make it reasonable, Voldemort would have no need for followers and power if he had actually inherited money... The Gaunt family the Slytherin heirs were broke! That means no money from Slytherin though it gives a seat. Again the Slytherin name changed! Idiots. He wouldn't add the name Slytherin to his name, just as Gryfindor isn't part of his name. Think writers think! Peverell: Its said in Canon that the cloak was inherited. This means at some point the main family merged with the Potter family. Perhaps he can gain the title? Though honestly, there probably is no British Lording title for Peverell, perhaps make it a French or German or Italian Title? Some foreign title, I guess... Ah yea, and Black... Harry is the Grandson of a Dorea Black. Thus, Harry can be passed Lordship IF named by Sirius as the new heir of Black in his will or some other time. (If Sirius had children, Harry would be a second cousin to them... Harry is within 2 branches of the family from Sirius.) The Universe is Slash!Harry Potter fanfiction. Having no Church reliant Wizarding World. Slash is perfectly respectable. Know though that if you have a completely slash filled Wizarding World that means that you have to rewrite society's order. All of the sudden reproduction must be ceremony or implemented simply for reproduction. As male and females are apparently not attracted romantically. And this means the sexes would be battling each other much more as they would understand the other even less. The genders would be alien to each other. Just as much as different cultures and so forth. Meaning that, they most likely would not have schools together. They would be in many ways different societys. The parents of this world are also gay/lesbian (parents i.e. those who raise their childeren)... Everything, from values, personalities, and so forth would be fundamentally changed. Which means basically almost 100 of all slash fics, are absolutely positively ridiculous. I'm not saying gay fics are ridiculous, I'm talking about the fics where every single relationship is gay and lesbian. That just isn't true. I just don't you people. You will find slash in my favorites, as many of these fics are quite good. I just think the universal slash! Harry Potter fanfcition is just absolutely ridiculous. As these stories never seem to look into the idea that all of society would change if the majority or even a substantial minority was gay. Harry/Ginny!pairing: I can stand it. But please, she's a fangirl! If and only if, Ginny isn't a fangirl who wasn't raised on Harry Potter books, and groomed to be Harry's wife, will I approve. Honestly you will find a couple of Ginnys on my list. But I tend to try to avoid it. fem!Harry/Draco!pairing: I can't give you a logical reasoning for this. But I find myself disturbed on an emotional level... Which is odd because I can read Harry/Draco fine... I think its because I see a Harry/Draco pairing as a more masculine, firm, powerful, relationship... While if its fem!Harry, I think fluffiness... And I can't imagine Harry on any level being cute with Malfoy... Like seriously... Disturbing... I think the dynamics of a gay relationship are also much different than your typical heterosexual relationship. And as such should be treated so in fanfiction... Most unfortunately think otherwise... Those leave me disturbed on many levels. Evil! Harry... If Harry was evil, Dumbles would correct it. I stick by the believe that Dumbledore did check up on Harry. It made him more moldable... Manipulative Dumbles is. Though I think he's good intentioned. The Greater good. And Dumbledore would obliviate, change and correct Harry up to that point at 11. Where he didn't know magic existed. Though really, evil!Harry is just not my cup of tea. Canon!Voldemort: He's so dumb! What's to like about the bad guys? And I mean that from a story telling point of view. They are incompetent! Can't handle school children!! The greatest Death eater taken out by a housewife! Voldemort handled by 3 school teachers until Harry shows up! Voldemort sends Lucius his greatest ministry piece to be potentially caught in the department of mysteries! How was this group not killed YEARS AGO!! They weak! Even Voldemort, could be taken out by a good hitsquad of like 5 wizards. Who are actually paid to kill and hunt down criminals, unlike professors who are paid to teach. They are stupid! You don't risk your greatest financial and political resource fighting battles like a thug! They aren't even loyal to the cause, as seen by Voldemort returning 11 years later. Canon! Voldemort and his organization are absoultely Hilarious! One more thought, Molly a housewife who never trains herself magically, can beat veteran torturer and duelist, Bellatrix Lestrange... How about all those other housewives that defended their homes... Not a single one trained on the side like Molly obviously did. Because Molly Weasely definitely didn't have time for classes with 7 Children, upon which at least one was home at all times before Harry was even born. Come on people, make a Strong Voldemort... Another thing, Voldemort, if he has so many followers in the ministry... Can't he just get the prophecy himself? Polyjuiced as Harry Potter? Think. Think. Think. Please Think. It was an advantage not to be known by the public! Why give it away, ask someone to it another way... Rather than invade the ministry by force... common sense. Other Things I Read Sci-Fi Crossovers... Babylon 5, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, Farscape, Animorphs and Star Trek... Cross em with HP too :P. Animes: Bleach, Naruto, Code Geass, Avatar (Just because its not Japanese doesn't mean its not an Anime in my opinion), Death Note, and some others... Terra Nova Challenge: spoilers In the end of season 1 part of a wooden ship is found and the Phoenix Group depart mysteriously... What if over the centuries of recent Earth history peoples of ancient times have stumbled upon this rift and thrived on Terra Nova. Perhaps the Phoenix Group will find them. 1. Create a character in the Phoenix Group 2. Have various evolved civilizations of ancient Earth be on Terra Nova 3. TELL ME THAT YOU WROTE IT!!! 4. Have fun.
