Hey y'all! Demi Brackensick here! You can call me that, though I'll be honest, my real name isn't actually Demi. But...I'd preferred to be addressed by that penname instead...y'know...for safety purposes and all that.
So, I'll tell you a little bit about myself. I'm 25 years old, and as you can tell, I'm a young woman. Writing stories is more of a hobby for me, though I've taken some Creative Writing course back at school. I like writing stories that are modern, as this allows me to experiment with putting Disney characters in the modern era. I enjoy writing angsty/realistic/fluff/romance stories that take on a more 'mature' and a realistic approach. I like to write anything that will make my readers relate to what it is that they're reading. I'm a University graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Music. I'm a singer/pianist/songwriter/composer. I'm currently in the process of working to release an EP album by the end of the year, and I'm also currently working towards completing my Grade 10 RCM piano and hoping to receive my degree in ARCT. My favorite pet is a dog (though I sadly do not have one...*sigh*). My favorite wild animal on the other hand is a lion. I currently work as a full-time Piano/Voice teacher, though my goal is to pursue a full-time career as a performer/music producer/recording engineer. Also, Theatre/Acting/Drama is another hobby of mine that I enjoy doing for fun. I'm also an amateur photographer. Basically, I love pursuing anything that's creative. I like to eat food (lots of it) and I love to keep myself active and in-shape. I live in a far, far, very far away land (which I will not say...because y'know...I'm paranoid about that stuff).
Oh! And last but not least, as you can tell, I'm a MAJOR Disney and Pixar fanatic! (It's not like it was obvious or anything...). I have lots of favorite Disney movies, but really and truly, hands down, I have to say that my absolute favorite Disney movies are Moana, Coco, Frozen, Hercules, Mulan, Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Incredibles 1 & 2, Ratatouille, Finding Nemo & Dory, Inside Out & Monsters Inc. I could easily binge watch those movies 24/7 and never get tired of them. I don't like scary movies or anything that has to do with horror and gore. I'm a big baby when it comes to those things.
I wouldn't say that I'm a feminist. I won't lie, I like being treated like a lady. I love it when guys or men go out of their way to hold the door open for me. But that's just me. I still enjoy that kind of stuff. However as a young woman, I do strongly believe in women having the right to earning an education and women having the right to work, vote and to stand up for her rights and to be treated with respect and dignity. I DO NOT, however, agree with the whole 'Nudity Empowers Women' movement. In my opinion, I do not and cannot see what is 'empowering' with seeing women walking down the street with a G-string on full display, or walking through a park topless. Personally, I think that as a woman, we need to respect ourselves and I also STRONGLY believe that we as women need to respect and support one another. However, if anyone were to ask me if I'm for 'Liberal Feminism' or 'Difference Feminism' , I would have to say that I myself would identify moreso with 'Difference Feminism'.
Also, I am Christian. But don't worry, I'm not like those seriously 'religious' people who love to criticize and judge people. I'm very accepting of everyone and I love everyone. So I guess you can say that I'm more of a 'Spiritual' person who believes that everyone should be treated and loved equally.
Anyways, that's all there is to know about me! Thanks for dropping by everyone! Y'all are amazing!
